@@warthogvanguard7292 Well I have a few more left in me, general battle techniques and warriors of chaos are planned already. I have plenty other series and stuff I did if you need more stuff to listen too!
i have over 4k hours combined over all 3 games and skaven being my preferred campaign in warhammer 2. i learned so many new things from this video.i appreciate all the new info and cant wait to start some new skaven empires.
You can't look at Skaven units on a 1-to-1 basis. They gain advantage with misdirection and surprise. Deathrunners, for example, are flanking assassins. They straight up murder anything they can sneak up behind, provided the target is preoccupied. Stormvermin, while "elite", simply dont hold up to chosen, sword masters, black orcs, etc. And clanrats can be beaten by goblins, especially if under a Waaagh effect. However, because Skaven have access to multiple forms subterfuge and misdirection, like clanrat summons (i.e., menace from below, vermintide, etc.), as well as powerful magic and devastating ranged weaponry, their infantry units "equalize" against enemy factions in other ways. You have to be crafty if you want to use an infantry army. One of the most powerful stealth armies is made up of gutter runners, eshin triads, and death runners. You lure/give ground with the gutter runners, while your stealthier murder squads (assassins, triads, and deathrunners) move in from behind. It pulls an army apart in a matter of seconds.
I'm fairly new to Warhammer lore but I believe the Skaven obsession with 13 and bells comes from the Doom of Kavzar, a story which is " a legend that talks about the fall of the legendary Human city of Tylos or Kavzar, located in the Tilean territory of the Blighted Marshes. All the known versions of the story share many similiarities, the only relevant difference between them is the role of the Dwarfs in the last stand the people of the city made against the Skaven"
Lore correction; in old warhammer fantasy there are order gods and chaos gods. Order gods are not necessarily good they can be evil as well however they are so in a structured way and exist in a different plane of existence to the chaos gods. The horned rat is a chaos god, a minor one that the major 4 gods mostly ignore and underestimates. Hashut who is also often associated with chaos is actually an order god. We know very little about him but according to himself he's been around much longer than the chaos gods and saw potential in the desperate dwarfs abandoned in the chaos wastes. So chaos dwarfs are not actually corrupted by chaos, they're just corrupted by magic, greed and vengeance. In age of sigmar they changed all this. Then GW decided that all order gods are actually powerful heroes left from ancient worlds that ended that eventually became gods for the newer races and the only real gods are the four main gods of chaos. And the horned rat was pretty much demoted to a greater deamon. Personally I like to think the endtimes and age of sigmar as a completely different setting that has nothing to do with the original game because it's mostly stupid and incoherent.
Thank you for the guide. :) One useful thing I'd note is that for clan Eshin is that the hero assassin units can also complete clan contracts, so they're a very nice alternative to using Master Assassins for that since it lets you use the other kinds of lords if you prefer them, and you don't need to swap them out from leading armies so much. Edit: Oh, and something that wasn't mentioned is that instead of the Scheme of DOOOOM! they get the "sudden kill scheme" which grants snipe, stalk, +20% missile strength to night/gutter runners, and extra speed to every single army you have for a single turn. Which is just an overwhelmingly massive if short lived buff.
Funny you mention the Skaven shooting into their own troops, in the tabletop game back in the day, they had a special rule that allowed them to shoot into melee, which was ordinarily strictly forbidden. Yes they could hit their own side, but it was usually more than worth itm
hey! amazing video, thank u! A question, how often should i make under cities? im playing as sniktch and i dont see any opportunity to make them, i always occupy and its my first skaven run. Shouldbe making more under cities?
so you need to use a hero unit to create them, forgot the name at the moment of the unit. You dont need to make undercities early on but late game its the best way to grow food, vision, and money without conquest or use break a strong opponent through buffs or destroying their cities. Just dont build them where you are going to conquer soon, since you'll lose them on conquest. Skaven dont need to play that wide however to win, just complete campaign objectives.
As Ikit, I'm at max in all provinces, and I've had no rebellious lords so far. I'm not sure what decisions I've made that have helped so much. Maybe I have a lot to learn. @@LordForwind
hi im here from your imp rome vids idk if you still play that game but have you considered making a Sparta guide as you make well edited short and informative guides
@@LordPratticusthe German word for it (Hellebarde) actually has that additional “eh” sound. Since you can historically trace them back to German speaking areas (with Switzerland probably having the biggest influence on making them famous) that may be a reason why some people pronounce the English word like that as well. This of course is pure speculation from my side ^^
How do you know when to build an undercity? How do you know what settlements to own, raid, sack, or occupy? Isn't the whole goal for skaven is to expand? I have to apologize....this is coming from someone who hasn't touched skaven.
thank you for the video, i was wondering for the buidings with cost in food consummed in the under cities if the food was consumed only when you build it or if the food was a cost to pay every turn
Would add Chieftains similar to Dark Elf assassins get a skill that increases loyalty every turn making the loyalty mechanic thankfully pointless. For Gun lines menace below and a plague priest is a good combo because of the summoning spells and you do not care about friendly fire. Plus the lore of plague is just really good. Pretty sure blessing of filth spell also can be casted on your machine gunners that already slow the enemy and it stacks. They eviscerate everything.
You could do that but it's not really worth it. Give them an army of skavenslaves 7-8, have them sit around for 20+ turns and then disband a few of their units and they might revolt. But you would only get like 3-4 food while spending 12+ turns on it as well as money. Better off building under cities.

Yeah the other heroes are good. I tend to want level 20 lords more than heroes especially with Skaven.

Is Skaven corruption really that bad? You seem terrified of it, but I've found it to be a fair trade-off.
It's not that good, it gives you more battle power but that's about it and it penalizes you if it gets high

You want to build undercities in either cities that wont be conquered ever or ones you plan on conquering. Occupying major settlements is best

It’s super easy to get Skavenblight to level 4 by turn 5. Just need 80 food.

Did Doomwheels get nerfed or something? I feel they are very bad, especially in autoresolve
Low entity units don't usually do well in auto resolves. It's a known TW thing. Don't think they were nerfed, ikit has the best ones

Kind of wish they just made craventail intoma legendary hero to make room for better lords on the map overall.
He is an odd skaven Lord but actually really good for his location since he is defensive
Can you use bombs in the campaign map?

is it possible to force lords to defect? to farm them for food and exp

Suggestion, maybe redo clan rictus as they have changed significantly
