I have been watching fair minded channels that are covering the Gaza conflict. They show actual videos of how the IDF is losing, these are not my words or fake videos. MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, BBC, Newsmax and others will not report the truth, because if they do they will lose millions of dollars in advertising which is their main reason why they were created in the first place.

Well done. Except, there are lies being pushed out by outlets like Fox. Corporate media is now driven purely for profit. Grifting is now the norm. Like the prosperity gospel. Small groups are driving the narrative and lying to millions of people for money. Orwellian is a cliche but it’s not far off. It all comes down to greed. Money and power. Just look at how our society is being divided. Why are so many people listening to someone like Joe Rogan? Petersen or Shapiro? Fox? Etc..

"The truth just doesn't get the clicks." An excellent final statement. I find as the media landscape develops into the digital age, getting to the truth becomes ever more difficult, takes up ever more energy. Yet, there is one piece of advice I'd like to give to anyone who's genuinely interested and doesn't just look for confirmation: be wary of conformity. Any conformity. Especially the kind of conformity that results if you are drawn into a group with which you feel to have a rapport. If you stay honest to yourself, it never lasts. Always be prepared to be the dissident voice. At least in anything important. I agree with certain talking points of this New Elite, but I remain detached from them.

Even if you agree with them that doesn't mean you have the truth. The content providers who add show notes to demonstrate how their opinion may have been formed or confirmed at least are genuine in my opinion, and often are way ahead of the curve because they know where to look. The folks I pay most attention to for useful information are almost all banned from YT. and maintain a website to direct you to a media portal for their content. The really big names are rarely on top of things that I find out months and even years earlier because its not majorly profitable to really dig and flush out all the corruption.

I hadn’t thought about the aspect of appealing to the masses by implying being marginalized, ostracized, and being for the people. I do know that there is something for everyone, no matter the medium, social programming/social engineering has to offer a vast array of ideologies, subjects, etc to entice people to be distracted from the truth and reality. It is a hard fight to try to keep out of the traps set before us. Thank you so much for making this video!

Think about the amount of Randoms on comments giving it their own 2 cents and how much less in-fighting there is on the comments sections of videos like these.
I'm 28 now but when I was 8 on the internet and had an edgy older brother living in the middle of nowhere.
It's morbid but after seeing what I saw in the old internet back then I definitely remember how people who are likely in their late 40s and 50s now talked to each other online.
I think the internet is exactly like a part 2 of the printing press. I think all of these guys are all living on borrowed time.
They can't market to an audience that is too poor to relate to. I could see Gen Z and millennials recreating and setting up new institutions overtime.
I dont think a lot of us even want to take over the old organizations and the genie is out of the bottle on education.
They can gaslight as long as they want but if they do not have imagination or creativity boredom and despair will steamroll them

ABC nbc cbs and PBS…..until…about age 12, enter FOX. I noticed right away the news wasn’t the same. They creeped in at first, and grabbed me with the Simpsons and Married with children. I was thinking about how our economic base influences our society and culture. As a form of media youtube (& others) seems to be able to incentivise people to behave and think in a ruthlessly capitalistic manner, but without any capital. Like playing the game, but with no traditional reward. I think it conditions people to except it's values and priciples making them less likely to challenge it.

Titles like exactly that and others similar are over a decade old and were once even more widely used (you know, because stupid people).. My personal fav was "BANNED VIDEO" common way back when people used to make conspiracy videos about the illusive and powerful "Illuminatti".. And Bush/Cheney masterminding the 911 tragedy.. Then came the slough of clickbait reaction trigger titles for vids all about rappers and music industry ppl engaging in weird late night homosexual orgies deep in the California wilderness among the redwood trees with strange ancient pagan rituals and friend/family human sacrifices in order to advance their fame n fortune.. Surely much of that kind of content is deliberate misinfo/disinfo but also unfortunately there was plenty of it created by true believers and there always has and will be scores of half wits waiting to hop on and ride the newest and or most popular ready made conspiracy theory mystery saga's, the new form is echo chamber model tailored to popular bias like Q'anon.

@@nikko.lottsahcocc6917 Bush couldn't mastermind anything. Cheney and Rummy asked for details of the PDB stating "OBL determined to use planes to attack buildings" when W, the most incurious POTUS ever (before trump) said, "OK Brownie you covered your ass, now let's move on." No questions about what kind of planes, how many, what buildings, how many casualties, nothing. Six weeks (or months) earlier a Cessna did a suicide crash into a TX IRS headquarters to protest taxes.
W and others thought Cessnas were crashing into buildings on 9/11, and when Card informed W of the 2nd attack when he was at the school reading to kids, W asked "Cessnas", as shown in "Fahrenheit 9/11" by Michael Moore.
Project for a New American Century was conjured by Rummy and Cheney after they worked together under G Ford. They wanted Clinton to attack Iraq after the 1st WTC bombing but he refused.
SCOTUS denied FL their vote for Gore to put a moron in place who would go to war when they told him to. They knew he would try to stop the OBL attack if he knew they were commercial passenger planes so the TX IRS Cessna suicide mission was perfect. These are my conclusions after reading the transcript of the 9/11 congressional inquiry. I don't do conspiracies.

Or whatever. Just regular off-the-cuff check-ins so those of us interested can spend 5 or 10 minutes remembering the channel exists. Surely as you work through the research for these epics, there must be tons of small moments where you discover something surprising, or you find yourself going off on a tangent, or down a rabbit-hole, or whatever. The USA is fifty-sixth on the Press Freedom Index for a reason. 90 percent of US media is in 8 corporate hands, and 77 percent is in six hands. CEOs of all 8 donated to Trump. They love an ignorant public who proved their gullibility by believing tucker carlsson's "Covid is a hoax" meme after CDC told the media and red states that 80 percent of the 1st wave of Covid deaths were FICA pensioners and dying reduced entitlement outlays. 700,000 FICA pensioners refused vaccines that could keep them alive and died. FICA canceled their payroll tax hike which rupert and tucker were facing. The anti-vax memes were to reduce entitlement outlays and boost the mortuary services index to a 27 percent gain YTD in aug '21. America's eugenics of pensioners went off without a peep of concern.
VT lost 10 per 100K to COVID, and SD killed 107 per 100k because 81 of those were FICA pensioners who needed to be put down like a South Dakota puppy, without a gravel pit, to reduce entitlement outlays. Aussies lost 10,000 to Covid with a 27,000,000 population. Florida has 22,000,000 and Desantis killed 87,000 with Covid and bragged about reducing entitlement outlays. Red states had a 900 to 1000 percent higher kill rate than states and countries that consider the eugenics of pensioners to be unsavory. Hey man great to hear about your plans. I‘m from Germany and the news here get worse with every second.

      •Chris hedges (former NYT reporter)
•Electronic Intifada (for middle east affairs, especially when it comes to Palestine)
•(almost) all documentaries of and with John Pilger
•Owen Jones (british activist, covers all kinds of stuff)
•GDF (yt channel with only a few videos on international politics but these few videos are great)
I can especially recommend Chris Hedges and Owen Jones.
      Good luck my guy🫶

You've always made good work. But this video is a perfection of your craft and philosophy. I consider myself relatively well informed, but thanks to this video I feel I've gained a new complex and useful understanding of how the historical, technological, and economic pressures present in the evolution of news media shaped the medium into what it is today, and how those factors continue to do so.
I'm so grateful for this new perspective, and have so much respect for all the work and care you have put into crafting meaningful videos with the intention of helping folks see the world more clearly, with all of it's complexity.
I intend to donate to you as soon as I can afford to, especially considering what I've just learned about how the need for funding, and the type of funding, shapes the medium itself.

Im the type of person who’s been to see Pod Save America and a Jordan Peterson lecture. Super middle of the road, I love hearing from both sides and can see the points each make, as well as their flaws, to the extent that my own life experience makes me biased. YT media has been a particular addiction of mine since I moved to Mexico a decade ago. I like the video and agree with a lot of it, but the focus is largely on right wing influencers when the left wing YT bros are easily just as dubious. Destiny saying the guy who died at the Trump rally deserved it. David Packman basically never having a good faith debate with anyone on the other side. Brian Tyler Cohen being a maestro of clickbait reaction stuff a la Rattlesnake dude. TYT (mostly Cenk) consistently demonizing the other side to the extent of parody and trying to run for president despite being ineligible. And I watch all of them and legit love TYT. But it’s all mental junk food. And let’s not even get started on the brain rot that is Bread Tube or the whole gender ideology algorithm spin cycle that is TikTok. The common thread between all of them is that they act like they’re of the people, often while themselves being millionaires.
So again, great video, but we needn’t hyperfocus on the right and give the naive impression that leftwing sources and the millionaires who pretend they want socialism are even remotely better.
It’s an issue I think about a lot, as my husband is obsessed with left wing populist Mexico-based UA-camrs like Diego Ruzzarin, a millionaire who says he’s a Marxist. My husband talks about Marxism like it’s a great idea, even though hes never read the communist manifesto and he’s a shinning example of meritocracy success, rising from working class, getting a degree, and starting a successful business where he works hard and is passionate about what he does. And thanks to Mexican tax code, he’s exempt from paying taxes. How convenient. 🙂‍↕️

"Das Kapital" is also Marx, and not communism, just flaws in capitalism The top-scoring countries on the Democracy Index are all Capitalist, but Democracies that mitigate Capitalism as FDR, Keynes, H Ford, and Eccles did in America until 1981 when reagan's trickle down killed the middle class. londonbanker.blogspot.com/2011/09/testimony-of-marriner-eccles-to.html

With that said, I recommend reading an obscure sweedish philosopher. Alexander Bard wrote in the 2000 a book called "The Netocrats", a new elite that will rise and prove the movement from Capitalism to Attentionalism. Tech barons and influencers reign in this new world and the new elites have more a triangular shape of hierarchy but at the same time, multiple piramids will form around different epistemic commons

In the end, all ideological positions crumble under the observable outcomes in reality, exposing the mythical personal utopia that everyone else whose sensible to me must like or just hasn't realised they should like and support yet.
It's interesting to see how we continue towards the informational "dark forest" that is our future, where we must question why each and every one of us say what we say in spaces where we can have others see them, and decide upon the type and level of response, and what further opinions and stances we hold as appropriate and if they truly are correct or factual. Furthermore, what potential conflicts and escalations arise from these interactions will be quite interesting.

It's amazing that a piece about framing falls prey to the same hypocritical judgements. What an absolutely insidious "well researched" criticism in favor of the mainstream. "Free speech is important, but we don't have to listen to it." I understand now why intellectualism like this is hated more and more. The last half hour is just a medley of greatest hits of biased quotes and psychological manipulation. Extremely disingenuous.

Got to your lazy & inaccurate description of Critical Drinker's channel before switching off. You claim to be analysing the content you've picked out with both a deeper grasp of trends within it & the altitude of historical context. Yet, from what I've seen, you neither understand (or care to show) the actual depth or subtlety in any of the work you present, nor the awareness it may have of its own historical moment. Basically, you're just another misrepresenting propagandist, busy peddling a line of political bias dressed up as objective criticism. I won't be coming back.

Mika educated Joe. Her brother was US ambassador to Sweden. I think Mika took Joe to Stockholm to see the 4th place Capitalist Democracy on the Democracy Index and the 3rd place country on the Press Freedom Index (USA is fifty-sixth), and 4th place on the Happiness Index. All the winners are capitalist Democracies but US media monopolies hate democracies so they call them socialist to scare Americans, when only 10 percent had passports in 1990.
Twain: “It liberates the vandal to travel - you never saw a bigoted, opinionated, stubborn, narrow-minded, self-conceited, almighty mean man in your life but he had stuck in one place since he was born and thought God made the world and dyspepsia and bile for his especial comfort and satisfaction.”
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” Red staters never even leave their own state, but listen to tucker and trump rant about others poisoning their blood. I love Joe, Mika, and Rachel. Donahue used to live in my hometown of Centerville when he had his show in Dayton, OH.
