    He says this car is cursed. Not so,
    Mine has 200,000 miles on it still running fine you just have to keep up with the maintenance

      Allow me to qualify my statement, that particular Aveo is cursed. It currently has 150,000 kms (93,000 miles) and it’s leaking from the valve cover, oil pan, rear main seal and water pump. Every steering and suspension component in the front and rear, alternator, starter, throttle body and countless other parts have already been replaced, and it’s rusting everywhere.

      @@416diy At 100,00km it shouldve had its timing belt changed. When you change the timing belt on an aveo you should be changing the water pump as well. Valve cover is normal. That gasket needs to be changed fairly often. Super easy to change it though. The rust and gaskets cant be helped, its a $20k korean econo car.

    Also would it stop the light shake in steering wheel

    • @416diy
      @416diy  4 роки тому +1

      Lo S-c changing TB is not likely to fix steering wheel shake. Have your wheels balanced, and inspect all your front end steering components, as well as your engine/tranny mounts.

    What would you estimate the the torque value (ft lbs) from your 1/2-2/3 rotation? I have a 2011 and I'm a bit nervous about working with an Al head. Thanks! Robert Kansas City, MO.

      Hey Robert the standard usually ranges from 15-20 ft pounds of torq, you could always search your specific specs online. Hope that helps

    Do I need to use di-electric grease for the leads?

    Hello. Which spark plug brand do you recommend? Do NGK or GM give the same performance?

    • @416diy
      @416diy  4 роки тому +1

      Ahmet Furkan Özdener I always use NGK iridium. 1 - they give me zero issues, 2 - pre-gapped, 3 - they last so damn long. I also find the GM/AC Delco aren’t as widely available, as I tend to order online mostly.

    Do you have to replace the wire set ?

    • @416diy
      @416diy  2 роки тому +1

      In this video we did, one of the ends had degraded where it meets the plug and was causing a misfire. Safer to replace them when you do the spark plugs.

    What if oil is on the gasket area? Just clean up and replace

    • @416diy
      @416diy  4 роки тому

      Lo S-c that’s what I’d do. The gasket is rubber, so there’s no mess to clean up after you remove it, and it only costs a few bucks. Why was it oily though, are you using an oiled air filter?

      I dunno, I have a 2008 Aveo that was very well taken care of by its previous owner and it's been extremely good to me. I absolutely love the car, I sold it but only because I need AWD for where I live (didn't consider when I bought the Aveo that it wouldn't cut it in the winter).
