Dude . Order a green thorn stellar . It s fricken seriously nice . We quality . 1 screw on the clip side , that’s it , $70. Liner lock too . It impressed me and I buy a ton of overpriced knives . This knife Jared is showing is a great knife , price is decent
I've been into knives for 25+ years now and consider myself reasonably good at sharpening. However, I love watching your sharpening videos as I almost always pick up a tip or two on how to do it better - especially with some of the modern steels. To the knife newbies out there - don't be afraid of sharpening. Watch the Neeves Knives vids (and with some practice) you'll be good to go before you know it. You'll soon learn what a difference a great edge can make to the performance of a knife. Sharp blades all!!

This knife is awesome! I was amazed how well it cuts.
Picked one of these up to try it out even though I thought it was a little goofy looking, but man is it a great knife! Mine came with the sharpest factory edge I've ever experienced - extremely sticky and blasts through cardboard like a light saber.
Love this knife! Wish it had a button lock or something more modern but it’s still great! It feels premium just works well. It’s staying in my collection for sure.
A couple little pieces of 2-way tape on the bottom of my sharpening stone and strop help keep them from sliding on my work bench.
What a gorgeous blade shape! I really want one of these. This seems like a great way to get lots of belly without a high tip position and angle.

Thank y’all so much for doing this video. The Nightshade is my favorite blade style. I dropped it on a 4” brass mortar round from WW2. Nicked up the blade and G10 scale.

Great video, I have told my coworkers about how amazing this fat boy is. The Nightshade is my most used (not carried) EDC knife now. I will probably get the black one as a backup. It has replace my old PM2 and Blur as to-go work knife. Sexy? Probably not; but damn it’s a freaking good cutter.

Great review and sharpening, such a cool shape for a knife, very similar to the Canadian Belt Knife just with this one the blade is angled downwards instead of straight out. That angle makes a huge difference as is very apparent in your usage clips. The sharpening of both would be the same though along with any knife that is all belly to the tip. Was wondering how the Atoma 140 compared to the DMT XX coarse or the Venev F80 stones. Have these two and wondering if it would be better to switch to the Atoma when the DMT wears out? Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
Atoma stones are much more aggressive but break in over time, the DMT are great but I prefer the Ultra Sharp as they are the same just more affordable. The venev use a different grit rating and are not quite as aggressive, especially over time even with conditioning. They are still incredible and cut extremely well but diamond plates are just more aggressive. A 1200 venev is 5k in grit because they use the F rating. If that makes sense
@@NeevesKnives sorry about the bit of confusion I meant it as I go to the Venev after the DMT XX coarse and that's what I was looking to replace the DMT as I don't think I got much life left in mine and i also don't think Venev makes anything coarser than the F80. Will look into the Ultrasharp ones or atoma ones depending on availability and price at the time when I need to replace it. The thing I was also wondering about the Atoma is the replaceable plates and if it's the cheaper option over time vs the ultrasharp for a real aggressive stone for reprofiling only as that's all I use it for at this point, but I don't think you've had to replace the plate on your Atoma yet have you. I have always pulled my blades as opposed to pushing. Is there a reason to push?
It depends on the materials, for cutting old carpet, I always do draw cut, for thin wood boards, I feel push cut gives me more controls over the knife.
I know this is a very good slicer however I can't stand the handles or the blade shapes it is so goofy. My opinion. I like straight clean lines. it's like a big spoon/ butter knife. I cannot get behind this knife I have held it and it confirmed my dislike for this knife
Sorry for the negative comment. Your Video is awesome as always. I sure hope they don't start making knives with this esthetic. I don't need to buy every budget knife with decent materials too many knives to choose from. It's a big pass for me. 🤷💯
I like it, it's like the 3rd knife that I own but I love my nightshade.
To each their own, this is a function over form type of knife which is why it was such a popular multi purpose design
