As far I understood the Romanian minority in Ukraine goes with the Moskow version of the church because they are allowed to use their language but the Ukrainian one force them to use only Ukrainian. So, Ukraine has to work also on this small details.
Don’t the Orthodox churches use Old Slavonic in their church services? ❓
Russian Orthodox use russian and ban everything else, even ukrainian in ukraine. Ukrainian church allows every language but there's a lack of romanian speaking priests
@@MAXlMUS A Romanian journalist from Chernihiv which moved here in Romania says that it is the opposite, they stay there with the Russians because they are afraid the Ukrainians will not allow them to use the Romanian language if they switch. I heard that the Ukrainians plan to stop the ban on double-citizenship and language for the EU in order to except Romanians, Hungarians, Slovaks, Polish, but keep the ban on Russians.

From what I know, Romanian patriarchate is discussing establishing it's vicarage on the territory of Ukraine for it's minority, but it my opinion, all then need to do is send some prists, without transition of the authority to romanian church. There is no ban in usage of any language in churches. Ukrainian orthodox church uses ukrainian, old slavonic and english(US, Canada) and even portugese(Brazil) as a language of liturgy, but if any minority will just clame to have it's own language in church, than it must be at least 50>% of people attending service of church parish and the presence of a priest who speaks the language. Only 0.8% percent of ukrainians clamed romanian to be their mother tangue. Same goes for 0.4 hungarian and 0.3 for polish.

Historical background. Ukrainians in the majority belong to the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. So historically it happened, since ancient times!
Once upon a time, the Eastern Slavs were not divided into Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians, Kiev was the capital of Russia. The Russian Church was an autonomous part of the Church of Constantinople. All Russia meant Great Russia (future Russia), Little Russia (Ukraine), White Russia (Belarus), as well as several other small lands.
Then (after feudal fragmentation and after the Mongol invasion) The Metropolitan of Kiev moved to Vladimir, later to Moscow. Even later, the Metropolitan of Moscow became the Patriarch of All Russia (that is, all the lands of the Eastern Slavs).
And after the collapse of the USSR, when Ukraine found itself outside Moscow's politics, but inside the Russian Orthodox Church, Ukrainian politicians (mostly pro-Western) began harassment against the ROC in favor of Greek Catholics (the West of Ukraine went to the Union) and began schisms within the Orthodox. Ukrainian anti-Orthodox politicians saw in the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church an element of Moscow's influence.

There is a strong possibility that a Holy War is taking place because Bartholomew of Constantinople recognized a Roman Catholic created church (Uniate) in Ukraine a generation ago. It was also a political ploy that involved Western powers in the scheme to fully globalize the world, though when it happend, it instantly backfired. Today Moscow is looked upon as Third Rome (renewed Byzantium) with all the patriarchs in all authocephalic National Orthodox churches being equal in rank. Now Barhtolomew is no longer viewed as the Ecumenical Patriarch that he once was!

Hi Bill, although it is true that there have been many corruptions propagated by the church, and continue on to this day, it doesn't mean there is no god. It tells us that there are other god-like personalities who pretend to be the original but show themselves for what they are. If you can get a copy of "The Two Babylons" by Alexander Hislop, a Protestant clergyman (Don't let that get to you as they are part of the same corrupt organisation) it does help to explain my premise that there are many impostors. All best wishes, AJ

As His Excellency said, it's important to remember that the curtailment of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) is because it has been discovered assisting the enemy - not because it is the ROC (MP) per se. Being a priest, he naturally used other religions as examples of more organisations which might likewise be curtailed were they to be found assisting the enemy during a time of war - but he might just as easily have included any and all individuals, associations, clubs, fraternities, societies and loose, informal gatherings acting against the state in that way.....
The point is it's very important that a perfectly reasonable stance that President Z is taking, is not taken out of context and spun into some hysterical non-story involving suppression of freedom to worship and religious persecution.
It's also worth noting that the Bishop - while perfectly happy to take as entirely credible, that a significant proportion of the ROC(MP) is indeed pro-Russian - he seemed much less convinced that many individual clergy of that denomination (irrespective of their public pronouncements) were in fact privately sympathetic to the Ukrainian cause - and even less so that any of them were doing anything to sabotage the Russians' ability to continue their aggression or to do something positive for the Ukrainians....
Its head Metropolitan Onuphry directly condemned Russian invasion and made a public appeal to Putin to stop it, they gathered a Council in May when they distanced themselves from Moscow Patriarchate and proclaimed a full authonomy, expressing disagreement with patriarch Kirill.
