- The Democratic National Convention will kick off in Chicago Monday - but it's not the first time the Windy City has hosted the major event. In 1968, a dramatic convention saw then-president Lyndon Johnson step aside, moving his vice president to the top of the ticket, in an echo of President Joe Biden's move earlier this year.

If the Democratic Party was not so corrupt and taking away the rights of the US citizens by allowing illegals to vote, that might be different I believe that everybody should vote legally they should be US citizens. No one else should be voting and I believe that was all my heart.

You see the Republicans used to be more vocal about civil rights and more socially liberal but from 1932 onwards the Democratic Party became more pro civil rights and more socially liberal then the Republicans. This came to a head during the Truman administration when he ordered the desegregation of the military, beginning the exodus of many segregationists like Strom Thurmond to the Republicans. This only continued with JFK and LBJ and their efforts with the civil rights and voting rights bills.
