Awesome so glad you decided to paint it rather than re wrap. Has been an awesome project can't wait to see the car all back together. Awesome work mate and hats off to you for undertaking such a massive task. 👏
Purple would look fire. Metallic midnight purple. But man I’m sooooo glad to see it finally painted. It’s been a long road of prep. Hell ima sit back and drink a beer with you. Good job brother!
Devin paint that engine bay the makita tool blue and match the brembos… or midnight purple for the bay and then brembs. Tellin you she will look hella built 🔥🔥
Hey man, I'm new to the channel and based off the few videos I've seen recently, I can already say this is the true meaning of building cars. You literally take it apart and put it back together yourself and I have so much respect for people who can actually do that. Cheers to the awesome paint job, bro keep up the sick work!
That paint job looks insane, good work! And the video also looks good because the 60fps. Maybe 4k 60fps in the future? ;) Keep up the amazing work my man!!!
Bobbi tired of your ass asking her “how do you think I did, or how’s it look” lmaoooo but women don’t understand when we’re proud of something we’re going to keep asking especially with a project this huge. Hope the rest goes as planned bro!
I think this shit needs to turn into a full blown show car now. Full shaved bay, tucked harness , built motor and some interior mods.. You went hard on the paint and it looks good so you mind as well go hard with the whole car. Plus STI Hatchbacks are FIREEEEE and your the most underrated KING of the car UA-cam scene.
Happiest and funniest upload yet. Bobbi's dad be like "I'm not gonna lie my boy, that paint job is a little wet where the sun don't shine bruh, but otherwise she's fuego my son! Sheeeeeeeeeesh"! 🤣🤣🤣 Well done legend. Now give yourself a few days off or, clean the shop, wash the other cars and leave the STI paint so it cures hard before assembly. 💯💙🇦🇺
There is a little trick for sanding out the runs. Take your glazing putty and lay a thin layer of it on and around the run. When you start to sand it out, the layer of putty will protect the paint around the run from getting thin from the sanding. Also the putty will act as a guide coat for the sanding, If there is putty on the run that will sand off first and you will see the run and the putty disappear together.
Gr8 job, 100 times better than a kit car wrap. Looking forward to the rest of your hard work. Wish I was in the US need you to respray the back bumper on my 2006 STI :)
I hope you get to read this but watching your channel has been a game changer for me I’ve learned more from you than watching other “professionals”on UA-cam. Keep up the great work💪🏻
Purple with flakes will pop for sure and if you ever wrapped the car in my opinion it will go any color. Excellent work brotha! You’re definitely an inspiration 💯
Great job Devin, looks absolutely amazing! Feel like we've been through this one with you, but you've pulled it off, you should be proud of yourself 🍺 White engine bay for me 👍
Killing it as per usual! In my opinion if you wanted to spray the bay a different color than white I would suggest nardo gray. It would be an extremely good contrast! 👌🏻
Always hit the like button, for how you have done this project pretty darn good. I still worry by many of your comments though that shows me still impatience like the speed of masking, don’t rush, what’s the hurry . so what if it takes 2-3hrs, enjoy the process dude. Many ways to phrase this but this was used extensively in my army days and I still use it for leadership mentoring. Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Production. Good practice is to plan before and after each day, ya did good mixing up extra paint, that’s good, and it means you don’t have different mixtures in your spray. But end of day, allow a clean up time, allow a wash the booth down time and dry, re wash in morning first thing, i,e you did to keep dust down, but always clean up end of day, gives better prep for next day and saves time, better result. Also, imo you are still trying to do too much too quick, laying a seal coat, and then 3 bases and clear coat in a day, imo too much esp for your setup and on your own. You are laying too much down on each step with your spraying, spraying a light sweeping coat first just to lightly get a coat down, not coverage do this for cost and second coat and coverage will come, it will also prevent runs, also lightly sand 1000 grit in between coats, wipe clean each time. then last coat you can apply a heavier coverage spray, keep the gun moving in sweeping arcs, a light sand in between ,means you will get a better finish next time, better coat coverage with using less paint and no runs, as the paint will adhere better to the sanded panels. there are no short cuts, pros can do this quicker sure, but because they have experience, the equipment and planning to execute it in timely fashion. but any paint shop says to me they can paint my car in a day is one aid drive away from.Anyways for what it is good work, just wrk on those steps mate and you could be awesome not just in painting but everything you do with each car, But you must learn planning and patience, prevention and process, product execution and don’t forget people you and those around you, us too, people look up to you and what you can do, no one expects perfection, but you can do so much more with these attributes and you have an opportunity to teach people esp your age demographic. Your raw determination and guts to attempt this level with what you have that most could setup in their driveway is impressive as well as inspirational, don’t underestimate that, but take your time esp first time, slow and steady wins the race, practice is what makes perfect, practice brings speed, but only when you have practiced doing it the right way, Anyways great project, looking forward to it,all coming back together.🤘
Awesome work Devin 👊 she so dazzling white, during winter she's gonna be totally invisible. 🤣. Can't wait to see you put her all back together and finished ☺️
You should be so proud bro paint job looks awesome. Is there no end to your talent. I think not. You should be very proud of yourself. Cant wait to see it back together.
Great job man! Just gotta say dry spray is way easier to correct, Simple wetsand and buff. A run is very hard to correct for even the most experienced painters
Broooo!!! I couldn't stop smiling the entire video. This is the best transformation to date!! By the way, that's not a run on the roof, it's a puddle lmao!! That clear is on there heavy!! Hahah can't wait to see this car reassembled. Leggoooo!!!
Hey Devin, just wanted to say I love all your videos and also just for future reference for masking up your cars faster when you paint, you can get a 3m hand masker m3000 dispenser and some rolls of plastic that would fit perfectly and rolls of tape. Definitely I would check it out, makes masking a million times quicker and easier for you! :)
You probably got warm spots on the panels direct sunlight and shade make it dry unevenly. Be ok left inside for 24 hrs nice an warm. Looks nice though.
Hi from Malaysia 🇲🇾 It was absolutely worth 👌🏻 I follow your journey from another garage to another, it’s start when you restore your Yamaha R6 😬 Thumbs up 👍🏻

“It’s wet where the sun don’t shine” 🤣 It looks awesome!! Can’t wait to see it all finished 🙌🏽
Do white with extra extra flake/Pearl for engine bay. Would make it look so extra creamy
It’ll make it creamy
omg thats real creamy
Purple would look fire. Metallic midnight purple. But man I’m sooooo glad to see it finally painted. It’s been a long road of prep. Hell ima sit back and drink a beer with you. Good job brother!
Devin I think a nice clean shave is in order after assembly of hatchback.
Love the higher quality of this video please keep the 60fps when possible! Also the content is on point brother 🔥
Devin paint that engine bay the makita tool blue and match the brembos… or midnight purple for the bay and then brembs. Tellin you she will look hella built 🔥🔥

You TACKLED this project! Best work ethic, can not wait to see the Wheels.
Outstanding Dev, sooooo glad you went Aspen White, engine bay would suck in black, plus hide any dirt.
Meant would look good in black, my bad

Absolutely legit AF, for your first full respray I would say you did a great job. This is going to be straight up baller of a setup when completed.
Happiest and funniest upload yet. Bobbi's dad be like "I'm not gonna lie my boy, that paint job is a little wet where the sun don't shine bruh, but otherwise she's fuego my son! Was waiting for this video last night finally the wait is over 🥺 Looks amazing Dev! Love the turn out man!

Devine your my favorite UA-camr🤞🏽🔥
Great work. Only suggestion I would offer is flick wrist away when painting to avoid overspray and runs when starting or stopping a pass.
Awesome job my friend!! Can't wait to see it put together
Love the color, starting to look like my hatchback :) Always been huge fan of white pearl wide body hatches. Good job!
Carnt wait to see this thing assembled! Just needs a Bobby special clean up on the inside and it'll be 🔥
