Can we look at waste not as waste, but something useful? In this video we try to explore that path with Rohit Joshi. As population and tourism grows in the Himalayas, the problem of waste is exploding. Coupled with that because of troubles in the border, the number of military personnel have risen manyfold. Sustainable solutions for waste management is the need of the hour.
If solutions to waste management can be found in the Himalayas, it can easily be replicated across different geographies. As a country and its population progresses economically, it proportionately increases waste because it becomes a use and throw culture, instead of repair and reuse. The only way forward is to create value from waste to motivate people to do the right thing by recycling. Making recycling sustainable and profitable, economically and for planet Earth.
