@@lucasgibbs4050 Not even. Mark Pellegrini identified non-canon stories in his timeline of Mirage, but when you start investigating what the writers said, it is almost like none of it should be taken seriously as canon. "Dark Shadows" alone implies that the apocalyptic future was just one possible timeline. In reality, the problem is that not even the writers know what is canon and what isn't. So all the stories happening in the future should be considered as an alternative timeline.
@@lucasgibbs4050 I found "facts" in turtlepedia that weren't backed by anything (or sometimes they use up a lot of space to talk about coincidences). So in general, it's a great source of knowledge, but other times it just makes my research work slower.
been looking for a channel like yours since I was a kid man nobody ever talks about the mirage universe as much as they should I’ve been a reader of the original comics and the IDW and even the boom studios comics but the mirage will always be the OG comic turtles for me
I love the idea that the turtles have expanded life spans. So they could live to be 400 years old if they are not killed, or sick. That's the one detail I don't like about the Last Ronin. That it's not 300 years in the future.
I still hold out hope that Peter Laird and Jim Lawson will reunite to wrap up Vol 4. Beyond that I really hope Kevin and Peter will collaborate again on a story to conclude the Mirage continuity. Judging by the recent Cartoonist Kayfabe interviews it’s clear there’s definitely a chance of this happening some day. The big problem with Tales Vol 2 is that Peter had so little input, the whole series can only really be regarded as what if… stories driven by Steve Murphy. Peter Laird is seemingly unaware of most of the stories as it sounds like he’s never even read them.
While Peter may not remember many of the Tales, most of the stories in that volume are definitely canon. It's just the ones from the future (and the ones that were specifically classified as non-canon). I do not know if Peter will be able to go back to volume 4, but I do hope that he and Kevin write something new.
The Same Applies in the Bleak Future of Mutant Apocalypse on TMNT 2012 which would be likely the case Considered Non Canon and ended as how the Original comics ended the same way.
THE Mutant Apocalypse is 1000/100 a what if because it's not the true finale of the cartoon. So to sum up the hole mutagen bomb thing never happen/happened/will happen and the turtles are okey
@user-zv4nq4qk2i That may be true as they ended it on Wanted: Bebop and Rocksteady Trilogy. But according to season 5's production codes, Mutant Apocalypse trilogy was it's true last episodes as it left a final note in the end for the Original TMNT creators. It's what Nickelodeon wants you to think. They where in way over there heads when they did this and since it's canceled it never was continued to prevent such a grim end for them thus it's the reason they altered there episode line. But it's entirely up to you how you want it to end it this way. So yeah it was a good move to end on the Bebop and Rocksteady Trilogy...
My rule for comics is to just dont consider anything canon unless its brought up in whatever story you're currently reading. As the characters go on, and different writers take over, they all end up using and not using what they want for the story they are telling, and you got to keep that in mind when you're reading.
@@emerald_archer Which to me just makes it a fundamentally flaws medium. Especially since the whole idea is to tell massive stories with characters developed over several years, only to then have all that you've read be made moot at the drop of a hat.
Last ronin is not canon to mirage because of the 1987 cartoon &1990 movie references the tmnt don't wear multi colored head bands or dress in all those accessories.
@@tyronleung5276 There are more reasons why it isn't canon to Mirage. But I think the debate of whether something is canon or not only applies when a story is a part of a volume or run. Since Last Ronin is a different universe, it doesn't matter.

I love the stories of them on Earth fighting The Foot Clan, Shredder, The Purple Dragons, the various B level villains, etc (and with a little mysticism mixed in). But I DIDN'T like the Triceratons, and honestly I much preferred The Turtles' dynamic in the 2003 animated series over their Mirage counterparts...JUST BECAUSE their bond seemed a _lot_ tighter in that iteration. In contrast, the comics seemed to ALWAYS have them at odds with each other, (ALWAYS!) over the most STUPIDEST things but in the 2003 series they actually felt like a real clan. (To me, anyway.) I really enjoyed _The Last Ronin,_ and especially loved the hulking design of Michelangelo. Not really a fan of them mutating 4 new turtle replacements, though. This honestly seems rather cruel. Why would you create something like this in a world where they would ultimately be alone and different JUST because you happen to miss your friends?

@@TheTurtleNexus Yeah, non human teenagers! Whom are from a totally different species. @@EternalRoman Yeap, but that's the reasoning for most writers I imagine. To give them the arc of being attracted to someone for the first time. If you look at how people reacted to the existence of the original Venus, it doesn't seem like mixing them up with female turtles was an option either.

He falls in love with a human female, then they decide to have intimacy, when it comes to coitus, his member is covered with spines like a cat and can you guess what happens to the human female?
