Actually the lead singer said in an interview that he has an 80s playlist in his Spotify and was listening to songs that inspired him to write this on his keyboard
I've actually met Tom and the guys and they said, many of their songs (and fashion) is more 70s than 80s, but I totally agree, this song is influenced by the 80s!
Well that's the ONLY way anything is gonna make anything even slightly palatable. 80s is the best clearly! That's why everyone keeps ripping off it, though most do it shitty, which points up their limitations even more!
The Blossoms are criminally underrated! How can anyone in their right mind say that Stormzy is better than this? If they do then they are cunts. This is music being played by talented musicians, not an overpaid guy talking trash about the country in which he lives. Radio 1 needs boycotting for playing bad grime music all it does is cause trouble and it is shit.
I can't count the tears I've shed to this incredible song in the last two months. Hopefully I'll remember this song and forget everything else about this period in my life.
Well that's not hard. They've got a massive headstart on everyone else in that they sound palatable, modest and don't shove a vile egomaniacal Taylored Spliff, Adele, Diarhianna, Harry-no-Styles, Robbie Pilliams, Gallaghers, Barlow, Slagdonna 'persona' down your throat and in your face everywhere. Helps they sound nice and have a decent sound. Everything else is gonna fail. In the 80s, they might struggle, but then it was the only decade of musical pedigrees, despite the worst things of that decade usually being the most revered!
I hope it does and they become bigger than the moon. They deserve it, all the attention and money to keep going. This kind of thinking makes good bands fall off the map! I want them known and respected!
First blossoms song I ever heard, is still my favourite

All your songs make me want to keep working on fulfilling my own dream. Music is really everything to me, and by the quality of your compositions, I can tell it is the same for you too!
I just read this vid is inspired by the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind which happens to be one of my favorite movies and its by blossoms which happens to be one of my fave bands (if not my favorite) at the moment.
Heard this song play today in Sofia (Bulgaria), while walking past some closed restaurant. Thought it was some 80s hit I hadn't heard before. Looked it up and was surprised it was actually from 2018 - great stuff!
I can’t believe how great this band is!!! Who is this lead singer? He is amazingly good. I randomly just started listening to this group by mistake, and now I am a super fan! THE BLOSSOMS ARE AMAZING
The track explores the lingering feelings and emotional turmoil associated with a past relationship. The lyrics convey a sense of regret and longing for someone who has left an indelible mark on the singer's heart. In the first verse, the singer mentions a passage in their mind that contains thoughts of this person and the emotions tied to their memories. The weight of the past actions and words spoken to the person weighs heavily on the singer's heart, leading to feelings of self-hatred and dislike for the current situation. The chorus reveals the internal struggle of the singer. They wish they could forget the person and move on, acknowledging that it would be healthier for them to do so. However, they find it difficult to stop thinking about them, indicating that the emotional connection still exists despite the desire to move on. In the second verse, the singer describes how they try to deceive themselves, seeking amnesia as a way to escape the pain caused by their intense emotions. It is revealed that the singer tends to fall in love easily, even with minimal attention received. They seek guidance, direction, and affection in their life to navigate their emotions. The bridge of the song hints at a turning point or a moment of realization. The singer reflects on their actions, indicating that they shut out the person but were then changed by their presence and the emotional scenes they experienced together. This suggests that the singer recognizes the impact the person had on their life and how their absence has affected their mindset. The chorus is repeated, emphasizing the singer's struggle to forget the person and move on. The repetition of the lines "I can't stand it" further highlights the intensity of their emotions and their inability to shake off the lingering feelings. Overall, "I Can't Stand It" delves into the complexities of longing, regret, and the inability to let go of someone who has left a deep emotional impact. It captures the internal battles and conflicting emotions that often accompany the aftermath of a significant relationship.
Lyrics There's a passage in my mind That pocket's thought of you And all the things that come with emotional ties Though memories do fade This heavy heart inside of me Hates that I said all those things to you and I'd forget you if I could I know I probably should be sleeping Not thinking this through But I can't stand it I can't stand it Fooling myself dry You're like no other Booked myself for some amnesia to keep me in line Why do I fall in love With the least bit of attention I need some direction, affection in time I'd forget you if I could I know I probably should be sleeping Not thinking this through But I can't stand it I can't stand it I can't stand it I can't stand it When I was thinking of a plan She sent the snow then took my hand I shut you out, you changed my mind The echoes fall beside the scenes where you would cry I'd forget you if I could I know I probably should be sleeping Not thinking this through But I can't stand it I can't stand it I can't stand it I can't stand it I can't stand it I can't stand it I can't stand it I can't stand it

56 year old here. Whoever in this band is influenced by the 80’s you’re just the best. Best band I’ve heard for years.
Actually the lead singer said in an interview that he has an 80s playlist in his Spotify and was listening to songs that inspired him to write this on his keyboard

60 years old here mate, and could not agree with you more, Stockport it's on the map .
Well that's the ONLY way anything is gonna make anything even slightly palatable. 80s is the best clearly! That's why everyone keeps ripping off it, though most do it shitty, which points up their limitations even more!
My sentiments exactly!
Just a superb band (and I'm not usually a band kinda guy)
This song is criminally underrated

@@MATTFL380 Blossoms' popularity is really small, nobody knows about this band outside the UK
U ain’t wrong there
E
@HoTajak You are an exception, Blossoms is very popular in the UK and nothing else.
I can't count the tears I've shed to this incredible song in the last two months. Hopefully I'll remember this song and forget everything else about this period in my life.
I feel your pain. We’re at the same lookout, it seems..
I'm really sorry to hear you're suffering too. It hasn't gotten better for me but I do still play this song at least once a week.
Only thing I can't stand is this song not having at least 100M views. It's absolutely a masterpiece, I can't get it out of my head
blossoms are one of the best bands these days!

One of those songs with a sublime verse melody as well as a wicked chorus hook.
We should be grateful that this didn’t end up on tiktok
Knock on wood
To be fair, tiktok can bring attention to underrated songs
I hope it does and they become bigger than the moon. They deserve it, all the attention and money to keep going. This kind of thinking makes good bands fall off the map! I want them known and respected!

His mind, he seeks guidance, his emotions.
Massive fan, this is my favourite track they have done so far! Can’t wait to see them in Norwich
Lyrics
There's a passage in my mind
That pocket's thought of you
And all the things that come with emotional ties
Though memories do fade
This heavy heart inside of me
Hates that I said all those things to you and
I'd forget you if I could
I know I probably should be sleeping
Not thinking this through
But I can't stand it
I can't stand it
Fooling myself dry
You're like no other
Booked myself for some amnesia to keep me in line
Why do I fall in love
With the least bit of attention
I need some direction, affection in time
I'd forget you if I could
I know I probably should be sleeping
Not thinking this through
But I can't stand it
I can't stand it
I can't stand it
I can't stand it
When I was thinking of a plan
She sent the snow then took my hand
I shut you out, you changed my mind
The echoes fall beside the scenes where you would cry
I'd forget you if I could
I know I probably should be sleeping
Not thinking this through
But I can't stand it
I can't stand it
I can't stand it
I can't stand it
I can't stand it
I can't stand it
I can't stand it
I can't stand it
Booked myself for some amnesia*
