Take anything you want and put a string on it - David Lindley will take it and play wonderful music on it. This man is a miracle with overwhelming musicianship
I had the pleasure of shaking hands with David Lindley in Grants Pass Oregon after he had opened for 'Hot Tuna' one evening a few years back. I had been mesmerized by his solo performance on slide guitars so when I caught him in the lobby during intermission I had to tell him how much I loved his performance. David was very cordial and seemed genuinely touched by the praise I was giving. I had been just starting on slide guitar myself and wish that I had the guts to ask him questions about it, but backed off and gave him the 'space' he probably preferred.... Nice guy!
No, Lindley and Browne singing and playing Take it easy by Jackson Browne. Glenn Frey admited himself several times that he hadn't do a lot on this song, it was almost finished when he started working on it ;)
I remember the first time I ever heard this wonderful song. It made me feel so good, I believed we could almost make a better world. 'Course, I grew up and learned better, but I never lost my love for this music. Thank you Jackson Browne and David Lindley.
Nice tune - the violin solo takes this piece to a totally different level - "as for man, his days are like grass- he blooms like a flower of the field; when the wind passes over, it vanishes, and its place remembers it no more." Psalm 103 - Requiem aeternam dona eis Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. +RIP David Lindley -
Sounds like the Irish version.I simply love these two musicians together.Brings me back to being 16. "Those were the days my friends,we thought they would never end."
David Lindley rocks. He can play everything / anything with strings... His look at Jackson, at 4:50, telling with his eyes: I'm tempting you to follow the easy refrain, c'mon... or what do you plan to do? And then, at 5:24 near the end, he wants to continue; of course, he listens to the several final chords from Jacson but he is ignoring them, in fun... Saw them play here in Madrid (Spain) circa 2006, I guess. What a performance...!
My favorite artist since I was 15. 60-70’s music was the best. Lyrics have never compared since. Lots of good artists in the 80’s but commercialism emerged and the studios began to control the talent of the person creating.
I've never been a fan of J Brown, but he has great tastes in musicians and Lindley is the best. So sad he is no longer with us but his loss is making find all the times he made music better.
Is a fiddle and a violin the same thing? The answer is a surprising “no.” A violin and a fiddle are the same four-stringed instrument, generally played with a bow, strummed, or plucked. They are identical in their physical appearance. ... The fiddle, in contrast, is associated with a wide variety of music styles including Cajun, bluegrass, folk, and country.
First heard this song, circa March, 1972, Mr. Browne opening for Joni Mitchell at D.A.R. Constitution Hall in D.C. He played the entire Saturate Before Using album, alone, on acoustic and piano. Surprised the hell out of me to hear the Eagles version on the radio that summer.
Every time I go through Winslow, I stop and get out and stand on that corner. They've got statues of Browne and Frey and a flatbed Ford parked on the street.
I lived in best of times for human kind. The best music the best of friends of food and clothing and housing and kindness and empathy and caring and original music and of ABSOLUTE TRUTHS. I am a lucky person.
So hoping you will come back to the UK some day. Isle of Wight festival would be your ideal...... It is a legendary festival which mixes classics with new vibes .
It’s often true that the songwriters own version is the best. It’s laughable that Glenn Frey even tries to take any credit, just compare all their other songs and you can tell who wrote this one 100%.
David Lindley is a virtuoso in every sense of the word. He will be sorely missed. RIP!
David Lindley ....what a talent ......songwriter and musician ...unsung hero !
What an astonishing talent-a wizard on anything with strings. R.I.P. David Lindley.
RIP David Lindley. The maestro. :(
Gawd, I was so in love with Jackson Browne!! First time I saw him was in Mobile Alabama, and I was pregnant with my daughter.. she is now 42.
Dave is a master of strings.Jackson knows who to have as a back up.
Jackson has always had great instincts about whom he wants on his team.
David Lindley - one of our national treasures!

For Everyman. The greatest JB album ever. Every song a masterpiece. Have worn multiple copies out over the decades
It's nice that David Lindley was given credit.
That's what real fans do 👍❤
One of the greatest songs of all time and man, do they look like they are having fun!!!
Lindley and Browne singing and playing Take it easy by the Eagle, simply marvellous and poignant. Two great artists.

@@enricobarigazzi798 Totally a Jackson Browne song
Thank goodness we can still hear a song like this - songs that have meaning and melody. I have to confess I hear very little in today's 2020 music.
Dude, I'm a time traveler, and I can tell you it only gets worse!

I just love to see JB smile. He lights up the world with joy.
Amazing that the backing is just one guitar and one fiddle.

I revisit this one every so often...an all time abfab fav💛 Love you two together ❤
If David Lindley was my friend and I made a living out of music I'd make damned sure we remain friends.

He continues to write awesome songs - and he's awesome - thankful for that...
Love Jackson with David…it just fits so well…

Saw Jackson Solo at the hockstine music hall in Rochester NY. 3 or 400 people ,very intimate. That was about 25 years ago. A lifetime.
God they both have such incredible pitch
Awesomeness- Pure &!Simple - Thank God for Jackson Browne / David Lindly & Warren Zevon !

Yep! Right there with you...
Wonderful! Demonstrating beautifully why David Lindley's musicianship complemented Jackson Browne's songsmithing so brilliantly.
no one nails a tune like Jackson!
Back to the roots. Jackson and David. Love them both!!!!!! Sue Roberts.
That is lovely. 💙
These two guys. No one this song as great as these guys do.
Beautiful live music great💙
Been a fan since "Late for the sky"
This song reminds me of my Uncle. Miss you Uncle Joe! I hope wherever you are out there among the stars, the fishing is good.
My wife And I where at this show. It was grand. One of many years at the Philly folk fest.
Saw David Lindley and Ry Cooder about 30 odd years ago just the 2 of them no backing band 3 Hours of magic!
I listen to a Jackson Browne record every week....
Have 9 of them on Vinyl
This version gives more emotion to the original
A class act, both of them!
I've never been a fan of J Brown, but he has great tastes in musicians and Lindley is the best. So sad he is no longer with us but his loss is making find all the times he made music better.
Check out redneck friend
Saw Jackson with Lindley, but David was playing steel guitar that night, and it was amazing.
Love you, David!
Great!
Any version of THIS tune is good. One of the very best songs ever.
Music to my ears, life is beautiful after all....... that fiddle man 😫🙌

Karl D'Rocco Gallant the difference between a fiddle and violin is a violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs.. 😂
David Lindley!
Two acoustic string instruments together on this song makes it soooo much more compelling.
Is there any instrument dave hasnt mastered yet? The man is A genious. God bless him
I doubt it...no stringed ones that's for sure!
Kazoo and didgeridoo
haven t seen this vid and haven t seen Lindley play for a long long time. Still is the goods

Love the violin! Nice! Pj's a bonus🌻
Best songwriter ever! Love JB
I’ve been a Jackson Browne fan for years, his lyrics are incredible but I have to admit…
…Bob Dylan.
Sometimes I love technology, made a mad day into a serine one
No lasers, no big screen, just great singing and playing
First song that I learned how to play. 1975. Thanks Jackson and Glen.
I love the way Lindley plays fiddle. That's him at the open of the Youngbloods Darkness Darkness.
Thumbs up for Mr. Dave on fiddle!
The Incredible David lindley
He is very sick so 😢
Jackson Brown is great, But I've been a David Lindley fan since the early 80's.
Dayum...Lindley...that guy useta rock a live concert...
Yeah Jackson keep doing it!!
Amazing!
I love playing this song on my guitar also. Always fun to sing.
I saw him and David in 1977 or 78 in Columbia, SC!
I always preferred Jackson Brown’s version of Take It easy. This probably because I wore out For Everyman, my first J.B. Album.
