Nice video as usual. Some ammo just isn't compatible with some chambers. Another thing is the extractor may not be optimal for the cartridge rim profile. Or a combination of things.
It shoots pretty well but the ejection problem it was clear you was thinking of the extraction and not the shooting and I would have been to I hate that crap . Eley rifle match does the same thing to me but shoot lites out that is a bummer 😞 keep up the good work 👍
Must have been the mic. I usually place it behind me just out of frame on my right side. My wife has a bunch of gardening tools there so that could be it
Hi an IBI barrel here in the land of Aussie is just under $1,000 Australian dollars. And if you buy one you have to have it registed with the authorities. just thought I'd let you know.
I use the magnetospeed sporter but I cut the part off that goes on the barrel to give it room so there are no harmonic changes that would affect the groups
That is the position of the targets I have been experimenting with the target position and it makes all the difference between groups I put two targets side by side and then I go down three target the ones that shoot really good I replace the targets in exactly the same spot you would be surprised how good the groups are. I also take a little hand level a level the card board the targets are on and try to place the targets on the board level. When I finish shooting I take the card board down and it has two holes where all my projectiles hit I mark the next targets with the holes and put the targets I shoot in the same place and hang them the same way try this and you will see what I mean. Now the reason for this is this is where the gun barrel is lined up straight at the target when you start moving from left to right the way you shoot your targets it miss aligns your target with the barrel. Let me know what you think. Beagleman
Too bad about the extraction issues. Wondering if, because these were supposedly designed for semi-auto, the rims were deforming somewhat. I'll be trying the Contact and Force cartridges in my 10/22 soon. Hopefully I have better luck than you. I just changed my order from 10 boxes each to 4 each thanks to your video.😉
Canadian pesos ! LOL. My IBI barrel just doesn't like Eley at all. Mediocre at 50 yds and terrible at 100. Sk and lapua shoot great. Set barrel retention screws at 15 lbs, reduced fliers some.
457's have weak extractors compared to CZ's discontinued flagship, the 452. 452's also had dual bolt locking lugs and a threaded into the receiver barrel. Very nice! I'd love to see what happens with Eley High Velocity, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 🙏
I’ll see what I can do I only buy and support my local shop (accuracy plus) in Peterborough Ontario. Basically I buy what ever they can get me and that’s what I test. I try and support local businesses. I sure I could get all the exotic ammunitions if I went online but we they have always helped me and I will be loyal to them
@@BROTUNED Hmmmm? Loyal to your local shop hey? What about loyalty to your subscribers, after all, we do pay for your ammo? You said that the Eley Force was a little hotter and that's what caused the extraction issues, I'm sure that I'm not the only one that wants you to do a "Myth Buster's" test with HIgh Velocity Ammo to see if it really is a hot ammo issue?
UA-cam add revenues don’t even cover the price of the ammo these days. I used to make more years ago before the anti gun stuff started. Now I’m lucky to make $80 a month on here. That covers ammo for 2 videos max. But I hear ya I’ll see what I can find as far as ammo goes. I also had companies offer to help but once they found out I was in Canada 🇨🇦 they weren’t able to ship anything across the border so other than the tiny ad revenue I fund the channel out of pocket.
Other eley ammo works flawlessly. I have bolt shims but never shot the rifle with them. I did install the smallest once and the bolt was hard closing on an empty chamber so I removed it. Sometimes I like the run the bolt fast and I had to force it closed with the thinnest shim installed
I just ran Eley Force through my 10/22 and had no problems. The groups were really good like yours. Tough luck
i just started shooting eley force in my savage and ruger, shoots great i have had no extraction problems at all
Works awesome in my Lithgow 101, and great groups
Thanks cheers 🍻
The force is with you!!!
Love your day at the range shirt. I think I will get one to spread my 2A joy.
I don`t think the IBI barrels are as good as the Lilja Barrels
I can’t speak on that because I haven’t tried one
DON'T FORGET us Aussie brothers we love your vids too.
Cheers my friend
It is the IBI barrel which has a closer tollerence.
That stuff runs hot. Thx for the video
I always appreciate your videos. Thanks. Blessings
Thank you sir
Thanks for what you are doing!
Thanks you for your time and appreciation. Cheers 🍻
Great video man i look forward to them every sunday. Very frustrating when you have to continue to dig the casings out.
Yes it is even if they were one hole 5 shot groups I wouldn’t shoot them. The Center x was pretty impressive though
Thanks for the vid, no feed / extraction issues in the sako quad and mid way through the 2nd brick so possibly a gun specific thing with yours?
I ended up using Volquartsen exact edge extractors and seems ok now

Maybe it was just where your mic was, but something sounded loose or rattling. Still a great video! 👍

LOVE my 457.. Just keep the extractor clean else loading becomes an issue..
(UK resident)...
Thanks my friend

just thought I'd let you know.
Oh man I thought we had it bad in Canada (it is getting bad) but that’s insanity
Great video as always, what Type Chronograph do you use , would like to buy that system
Thanks Randy

Clean the barrel and make sure you get the carbon ring out of the chamber. That will probably cure your extraction problem.
These were out of clean barrels

Great video!
What chronograph are you running?
I used a customized magnetospeed sporter
How long has it been since you cleaned it? Clean at least the chamber, I've had some FTE when the carbon ring gets thick.
I clean my barrels after every session. I don’t do that with the big center fire rifle but I find the rim fires do best from a clean bore
Great content. Where do you get your targets?
I print them off dayattherange.com under z challenge he has a link to the targets there as well as other rimfire related targets on the other link.
@@BROTUNED thank you. Again I enjoy your content.👍

Ya don’t know what to say my rifle just didn’t work with it
Hi great video, could you shoot 50 meters and at a scored target. cheers mate
I could try that out for sure

Thanks I’ll definitely try that
I’m not impressed with the Force. Do you think the 42 gr makes a difference?
I think it’s more the speed but not really sure
How many different cartridges are you going to try before you settle for one this is mad just trying to keep up with you 🤣
I’m just playing I find lapua Center x is the best one with both barrels but sk flavours are very close and a fraction of the price
If the barrel was clean then it is time for a stronger extraction spring.

@@BROTUNED No problem, point taken. Great videos anyway.
Eley rims are thinner. Your barrel has too much headspace or you could shim the bolt.
Other eley ammo works flawlessly. I have bolt shims but never shot the rifle with them. I did install the smallest once and the bolt was hard closing on an empty chamber so I removed it. Sometimes I like the run the bolt fast and I had to force it closed with the thinnest shim installed
Did that chronograph really say 3915 ?
It sure did.
Bad reading I get those the odd time maybe time to look at settings
The biggest issues I have with Eley is a few FTF.
Lucky 7 shot scored 3915 fps 😱
Almost light speed ha ha
@@BROTUNED ,,, yes. .223 nearly committed suicide. 😂🤣😝
The extraction issues are more to do with your rifle than the ammunition…
Not so sure the ammo is your extraction problem would investigate before making a judgment!
Malfunctions ended once you stopped handling that bolt like a stepchild
Lol 😂
Thanks for this ammo test. I’ll stay away from it.
No problem 😉
Frustrating is t it
