- The rear tailgate on your big, bad boy Super Duty truck isn't the lightest thing in the world and the fact that it just slams down when opened can be a major safety concern. The folks at Dee Zee have come to our rescue with this Tailgate Assist. With this super inexpensive and easy to install gas-charged strut assembly, your rear tailgate will now come down nice and slow -- as gently as though you're getting a helping hand. The DeeZee Super Duty Tailgate Assist System is a gas-charged strut assembly that slows the fall of your tailgate whenever you pop it open, bringing it to a slow steady stop without you needing to hold it.

You make a video and then don't show how the devise assists with the tailgate lowering and lifting.
Lot of people say that the tailgate is to heavy for these could you put one on each side
Every forum that has talked about these DeeZee units has said the nutserts are the problem. They get loose or the lower post bends over time. Bad design. The Ford tailgate assist is a better choice in my opinion.
After 3 months installed the " gas shocks wore out" I live in a hot climate, I'm sure that contribed to the problem. Low nutserts were bending anyway. Don't buy.
Just installed my tailgate assist on a 2001 Ford F250. Did not make any difference at all. In the rate of speed the tailgate dropped. Am I doing something wrong? Is there adjustment? If not, this thing doesn’t work at all.
The tailgate wire gets in the way sometimes
is there a fix for when the nutsert bends and strips out?
Unfortunately we do not have a solution for that.
Yeah, new tailgate sounds like. Or take it to a machine shop. Bad product design.
Of course you don't show it dropping....hahaha
Just installed this on my F-450. Worked good on my 250 but the bottom just bends. Don’t buy it if you have a really heavy tailgate. Junk!!!
BIG BAD BOY SUPER DUTY? Well if you made anything worth a hoot at Dee Zee my truck may still have one of these. My current truck had one of these on it when I bought it. The bottom piece was bent and the strut was shot so I tossed it. Like all Dee Zee products it is junk. Don't waste your money on Dee Zee. My mind was made up about their junk when I bought some bed caps that were paper thin, I never installed them. I am considering cutting them up in little pieces with a pair of scissors and mailing them back to Dee Zee care of quality control department.
tom horn I got 2 tail gate assist on my truck I felt like 1 needed to be assisted with another one lmfao
