Legit Papa Roach must be one of the hardest working bands in history - consistently releasing new music, touring since Infest back when I was kid. Absolutely outstanding!
The simplified version of my progression to heavier metal would be Linkin Park, A Day to Remember, All That Remains, Asking Alexandria, Of Mice and men, Ice Nine Kills. Though there were many others too these are definitely the most influential.
You should react to Kill The Noise, heavier track and really really good 👌🏼 I guess my progression was Green Day-MCR- Papa Roach (Nu Metal wave)-Trivium-SS. Something like that
It all started with The All-American Rejects in 2006, then it was Linkin Park, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Slipknot, Korn, Bullet For My Valentine, and then I went into a pop phase in high school (MTV-core) before getting into pop punk and metalcore.
What a nostalgic feeling. I was 12 years old when Infest came out. It was one of the first new metal albums I bought. My music taste has evolved into metalcore, death-metal and deathcore but so many years later I'm still enjoying this band so much! What a banger🤘 my progression was; Linkin Park, Korn, system of a down, papa roach, disturbed----> as I lay dying, chimaira, Killswitch engage, Trivium, Caliban Parkway drive----> Shadow of intent, Lorna shore, brand of sacrifice, born of Osiris, signs of the Swarm 😆
yooooo i was just as blown away finding out tommy vext was in divine heresy all this time i had no idea lol also for me i would say my progression was simple plan, -avenged sevenfold/ bullet for my valentine/ slipknot/children of bodem
Led Zepplin, Papa Roach, Slipknot, Disturbed, Atreyu, A7X, As I Lay Dying is a simplified version of my progression to heavier metal. Although I never really listened to anything quite like Suicide Silence and also didn't listen to much of As I Lay Dying either. Now my go to bands are Erra, Spiritbox, Wage War & Falling in Reverse.
I was brought up on Manson, Korn and Slipknot, then I regressed to pop punk and worked back up to like ADTR and similar, whilst simultaneously being introduced to bands like BMTH around their "There Is a Hell" era, which then had me curious to find their earlier stuff and then I found bands like Suicide Silence etc. 😁
You should check out some of the other singles they've released recently for their upcoming album. Definitely all fun modern sounding. I'd say my favorite of the 5 is dying to believe.
My taste kinda just evolved by school year starting from sixth grade 6th grade: Paramore, All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, Neon Trees, Linkin Park 7th grade: Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Paramore (early), Slipknot, Van Halen, 8th grade: Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, Beartooth, PVRIS, 9th grade: State Champs, Stand Atlantic, Neck Deep, Taking Back Sunday, As It Is, The Starting Line, blink-182, Cartel 10th grade: Sleeping With Sirens (How It Feels To Be Lost had just come out this school year and it absolutely cemented my love of heavy music), Underoath, The Used, Papa Roach, From First To Last, Bring Me The Horizon, Ice Nine Kills, Asking Alexandria, Motionless In White, Bullet For My Valentine 11th grade: Stray From The Path, Architects, Kublai Khan TX, Thornhill, Blessthefall, MOD SUN, Periphery, Counterparts, Bad Omens, The Word Alive, Crystal Lake, Veil of Maya, Spiritbox, MGK (don’t ask) 12th grade (now): All have merged to form my taste, plus rap from the early 2010s makes it in to really mix it up
I’d say that Metallica was my first metal band, followed by Megadeth, Slayer, and then Slipknot. But most influential and relatable by far looking back on the last 22 years of my life was Linkin Park. Yet I was also brought up on The Offspring, Green Day and Blink primarily, but discovered later bands like Goldfinger, Sum 41, Good Charlotte and New Found Glory from there. Admittedly I’ve kinda gone off pop-punk in recent years due to shitty rumours that keep cropping up, but I’ll always be a metalhead at heart. But compared to my teen years, my music taste is massively all over the place - ranges from Motionless/Architects/Ice Nine Kills, to Neck Deep; Real Friends, with a hell of a lot of indie stuff like Blossoms, Kings of Leon and The Killers, it’s crazy 😂 - (And speaking of The Killers, Motionless In White’s cover of “Somebody Told Me” is amazing). However I’ve been on a massive Slaughter to Prevail/Rammstein binge of late - those 2 are quality, and I’m currently learning German and so it’s useful🔥
Not sure if youll see this wyatt but i think youd love the song Edge of the Earth by Volumes. I can totally see you nailing a cover of that on drums, and possibly doing a reaction video. The songs crazy epic
I have way too much: Korn, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Static-X, Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, A Day To Remember, Memphis May Fire, We Came As Romans, Bring Me The Horizon, Motionless In White, Architects, the list goes on and I didn't even cover everything.
i am begging on my knees for you guys to listen to Palaye Royale. Their while discography to date is so sick. They opened for Yungblud during his US tour and played fucking amazing.
Purty please do MIW cyberhex next? I see that others are requesting it too; which is amazing. It’s definitely solid 10/10. Blows this song outta the water lol
Idk man i went to a venue and saw suicide silence do a wall of death to disengage. Kinda went in a rabbit hole of all bands after that. Didnt ever listen to ot before
If you guys haven't checked out Australian band "Mirrors", you're missing out! The drums in "Purple Static" are something else and their tracks are so atmospheric.
so the beginning of this video begs the question. where is your music podcast. just the two of you talking and reacting to music that makes you who you are today..?
Legit Papa Roach must be one of the hardest working bands in history - consistently releasing new music, touring since Infest back when I was kid. Absolutely outstanding!
You guys should to react to new single by Motionless in White - Cyberhex. You guys are to flip out! It’s soo sick!

You should react to Kill The Noise, heavier track and really really good 👌🏼
I guess my progression was Green Day-MCR- Papa Roach (Nu Metal wave)-Trivium-SS. Something like that
Stand up as well.
Slipknot was my first metal band. Then I heard The Final Episode by AA and Second and Sebring by OM&M and my scene days grew from there
It all started with The All-American Rejects in 2006, then it was Linkin Park, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Slipknot, Korn, Bullet For My Valentine, and then I went into a pop phase in high school (MTV-core) before getting into pop punk and metalcore.
Yes dude! I had same path :)
For me it started With BMTH
@@OwO_MIW I found BMTH shortly after Sempiternal came out, definitely played a big role in my transition to metalcore
Coldplay, The Strokes, Three Days Grace, Bullet for my Valentine and currently on Bring Me The Horizon

So much culture you'd swear it be yogurt.

I jumped straight from Green Day to Avenged Sevenfold. 2004/5. Gets messy after that. Atreyu, Killswitch, ATR, Devil Wears Prada, ADTR, etc.
