In the 6th grade, for whatever reason, my friends were trying to get each other to google random woods in ELA when we were typing or whatever, and so they harassed me for the entirety of the period to look up the word “hot”, so I eventually broke, and looked it up under images, right as the fucking principle walked in, I shit myself cuz I just c this tall guy walking in from the corner of my eye, so I desperately panicked to exit the tab with almost naked girls all over it, and it took me a sec to figure it out cuz I was panicking but it was too late, my computer was in the first row right next to the door, and there were only a few kids in the room, he banned me from the computer lab for the rest of the year, which was like half of it. Looking back it was super embarrassing back then, I never told my parents but I think it’s pretty funny now

I never got banned from the school computers, but we had these winter activities at my school, and I always signed up for the computer courses. It wasn't like coding or anything because we were like 13 years old and dumb. So it was dumb stuff like once a professional Microsoft Paint user came in to teach that winter activities class, and the most amazing thing happened that almost got me kicked out of that activity forever. The professional guy was like "you can't shade in Microsoft Paint" and I was like "Well actually you can, just give me like 10 min and I'll show you.". So this 50 year old guy was decided to humor me, and I drew a circle in paint, used the paint can to make it yellow, and I started shading it. I zoomed in and pixel by pixel dotted one part of the circle with a darker yellow, and then an almost black yellow, and then black. Then I zoomed out and it was a perfectly shaded circle of yellow on Microsoft Paint. The guy almost quit his job he was so angry and he just went into the corner and staired at the wall for a bit in rage. So I almost destroyed a man 4 times my age because I liked art. Eventually I got a real drawing tablet and a real art program and now I draw digitally all the time and think of that one magical winter activities class every single time I shade.

Honestly typing lessons have only actually helped me in the videogame area, not in actually writing essays. Videogames however helped me type better, good old wasd and opening menus, inventories and shit like that.

I totally relate to this. Typing things we had to do never helped on my end. When I started playing games with chats it would take me minutes to type my sentences for like a year and then I became a super fast typer with the chat, chatting to my real friends. Then I started typing essays on an I Pad versus a computer from what I had gotten used to and I still do today. I do think that touch keyboards on Tablets may be easier to learn versus typing like being at square one medevil computing. Then you know the keys when you actually get to a computer keyboard. That was my experience anyway.
Also I started forgetting to do rough drafts because I would go from brainstorm to letting it all flow for the final draft so I never had an inbetween so I would have to go back and make fake final drafts that I didn’t technically need as a skill.
Edit* So I would go from brainstorm to final draft. And have to make a fake rough draft.
In my school we have iPads, you get an iPad, have it for 3 years and after that you can either buy it or just forget about it and then it's the same the next 3 years.

And also I will tell you about one of the times when I hacked the School computers. So it was April Fool's of 7th grade and I just figured out how to hack the computers. I'd been freaking out for a couple of days because I didn't know what to do with this newfound power I had so I came up with a plan. I would hack the library computers on April Fools and do a bunch of cool and stupid shit. So for a couple days I was planning on what to do, So basically what I was going to do and I came up with changing the background to memes and make all the programs on the desktop open up pornhub 😁. So the day before April Fool's rolls around, and I go to the library and start messing around with the computers. While I was changing all the library computers to do you know what, I hadn't realized that the librarian was sitting in her office. So as I'm 10 computers in, she walked in and asked me what I was doing. I was very calm and collected at the time so I just gave some random excuse like I was finishing an assignment or something and I spent like an hour there finishing up on all the computers. So April Fool's rolls around and we needed to work on some science project and we needed to go to the library to use computers. Even though I extensively thought this plan through, there's one thing I missed. So we had science period 4 so that means the library was open for the first three periods. Back to the story now, so I was eating my lunch excitingly waiting for period 4 to come and I tell my friend what was going to go down and at first he didn't believe me, but with more convincing he started to get hyped. So lunch ends and we start heading to science. The teacher explains what we're going to be doing and then takes us to library. We walk in there, and no joke, the teacher was frantically running around computers trying to figure out what was going on! Me with my mind racing, I was just trying to hold it in to not look suspicious. And when she saw us at the door, she rushed to turn off all the monitors and awkwardly told us to sit down. The science was pretty normal that day but the next day, the rumours spread around the whole school that someone hacked the computers. I wanted to say that was me so bad to look cool and shit but I didn't want to cuz I didn't want to get in trouble. So one kid that I'm just going to call and Jeremy for now, told me what had happened when he was in the library in period 3. So basically he says, "I went to log on to the computers to finish an assignment and I instantly noticed the memes and just thought it was a joke by the librarian until I clicked on word and it open PornHub!" So at that point I told him that it was me who hacked the computers, and he just started laughing his ass off in the middle of the hallway! The teachers never found out who hacked the computers, but from that day on, the librarian would always watch the students while they were using the computers!
