Found out about chemical guys about 2 weeks ago. Now all I do is come home after work and watch these videos haha. Funny thing is I just got me a new car and glad no one else has put a finger on it but me! (washing it ofcourse). woo! thumbs up.
Just a couple of questions When you always use a spray cleaner why do you waste 4-5 squirts to" prime" it? Isn't that a waste? Why can't you "prime" it on the area you want clean. With the small brush, why did you opt for a metal crimp to hold the brizzels in? Surly if you slip it something it's going to scratch. I have one and it has a rubber protection
ProDiiGy yeah I was thinking the same thing, all I use is a clean rag and soap and water that's it. You don't need to spend like 100 buck to clean rims gtfo
Thanks A LOT brother! Gonna use the products you're using. It's SO time consuming and a hassle to clean my wheels since I always take off each wheel to clean them properly :)
The Signature Orange cleaner 10:1 does a great job on tire dressing... My wheels were so effin nasty from the previous owner, had to use 'Eagle-1 etching Mag Cleaner' on them (OTC Acid) and a baby bottle brush LOL But now they look decent. Wiped them down with V7 to seal the finish from the elements.. Peace out Greg, your products are awesome!
I have to admit, when he was pushing all the brushes and cleaners, I wasn't buying it. But once I saw how good it works, I'm definitely interested. Just show the product, and let it speak for itself. If it's good, people will talk...
and all this time, I have been just using my water hose and soapy water and my wheels still look good... but, I do need the long fuzzy thing to get the inside part :)
I use a synthetic wax on the outside of wheels sometimes after a good cleaning. You can do the next few cleanings with a bucket and hose, dust will come right off.
Hi Papo, how's it going? Just use some clean water and whatever Chemical Guys soap you have on hand to wash the brushes. Agitate well to knock all the set in grime off. Make sure to rinse them out with clean water afterwards and let dry! Thanks for watching, and check back tomorrow for another video dropping!
I was wondering why you recommend reaching deep into the barrels if you're detailing for a show car. Wouldn't you take the wheels off the car so you could not only clean but polish and protect the inside (without) the brake rotors or calipers in the way? That also gives you a chance to dress the inside of the tires.
Hi there, we understand what you mean, some people choose to do the face of the wheel only. Removing the wheel to clean both sides is definitely a more thorough approach, however it's not always practical since most detailers don't have lifts, or care to remove the wheels since it's all about getting the car done quickly to move onto another car. Having deionized water sprayed through the wheels does the trick most of the time. Also applying trim dressing to the wheel is typically done on the face of the wheel where it gives the wheel that freshly washed wet look. Stay tuned buddy, we've got more great videos heading your way. C.G. Alex -
I use you guys small mini blue blower to blow out most of the water, works really well getting the water out from around the lugs nuts. Once I blow them I take a MF towel to dry the wheels well.
Hi Jacob, we have sampler kits of our products in 4oz bottles that you could try, we don't send out samples unfortunately. Which products were you thinking about getting, paint protection, waterless wash, wheel cleaning, or trim dressings?
Try having fluro white powdercoated 5 spoke rims on a car that just vomits brake dust I could honestly need to clean them once every 3 days if I had the time
The Show Car Wheel Brush (Red) is great for surfaces that need a bit more cleaning power. The Red Rocket's nylon bristles are more compact and softer for more delicate areas. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
Love your videos I been watching a lot of them just to brush up on different ways to do things. I would like to try the diablo gel for the rims can u send a sample bottle?
I basically always do this when I wash my wheels, but the lips of my wheels are polished and every time I wash them I have to polish the lips because it leaves water spots and a duller finish which kknda suck because it adds a couple of hours more to my detailing time. Any tips for polished wheels so j don't have to polish them every time I wash them?
I have to concourse detailing brush. I like it and it does do a quality job but over time it has weakened at the handle over time. It's getting to the point it's like working with a wet noodle when trying to get into tight spaces.
Hi Massimo, thanks for reaching out to us. You will have to check your local listings for an authorized dealer. According to the Chemical Guys European website, there's a location in the southern region of Italy. Here's a link to it to better assist you. www.chemicalguys.eu/dealer/
I heard of other detailers using quick spray detailer wax over just the wheel after cleaning, so that next time around cleaning the wheel is easier, and less work, but isn't that method harmful for the wheel? if anyone knows please respond ! thanks!
***** awesome! hey thanks for the response i do it too now, and I've noticed great results as well, just wanted to know if other detailers were doing this also! haha thanks again!
Thanks Jason, wheels can be daunting, but the result is very satisfying. Thanks for watching our videos, stay tuned for more great content coming your way.
"Residual water residue." In fairness to your dirty 'before' wheel, the brake dust coating was so even that it appeared that the wheel simply had a pewter finish.
can you guys do a car with at least 6 months or more, instead of 1 month, and where it's really hot out so it's really!!!!! on there, where chrome wheels look like their black or copper due to all the baked on brake dust
Perfection cannot be rushed.. Take the time to do it right.. I have a VW Jetta that I spend about 2 hours alone on the wheels. I go a lot more in depth that Greg does but thats just me!
Thanks for the reply, Greg. I always watch your videos from start to finish, it's great content. I looked at the before and after shots, but I was saying that it would be more resourceful if you showed both shots in the same frame of the video for direct comparison. Again, this is great content. I appreciate what you all do!
Some guys like to clean there rims really good rims cost a good amour of money like 2Gs and up.but if u have a detailing business then the customer wants the shit clean if the pay 150 dollars or more for a detail...
There is so many steps in this video that are pointless ... I've used dawn dish soap and a wash rag on my wheels for the past 5 years and my wheels look just as good .
Hi walker, thank you for watching this video. As you may know, wheels are very sensitive, and dish soap contains harsh cleaners that could eat away at the finishes of the wheels. We encourage taking extra precautions when cleaning wheels because we want to ensure that we do the least amount of damage to our cars. The more you expose your wheels to things like dish soap, the more likely they are susceptible to corrosion, and oxidation.
hey greg im thinking about starting a new youtube channel where i do unbiased reviews on car care products... if i link you when i get up and running would you check it out? :)
with all them cars and all them wheels and all that brake dust every wonder why there isn't piles of dust on the road ways??? ....... it because HUMANS can breath it in they are like EARTH FILTERS !!!
Every time I watch these vids, I want to detail the s**t outta my car.
Detailing is a lifestyle.
-Greg@CG

Hey my concours wheel brush, broke after a month of use :/
15:33-15:36... residual water residue...,
J why wait 15 minutes... 0:29 "wheels can easily scratch very easily"
You are making me nervous with the yellow shoes. I just don't want you to get them dirty. LOL
"Wheels can easily scratch very easily"
I like chemical guys, I just hate how they push there products so much it's annoying
Corona light Its a business of course theyre gonna promote their products for sales 🙄
i think the fact he can properly detail a car, makes him 100 times hotter lol
Just a couple of questions
When you always use a spray cleaner why do you waste 4-5 squirts to" prime" it? Isn't that a waste? Why can't you "prime" it on the area you want clean.
With the small brush, why did you opt for a metal crimp to hold the brizzels in? Surly if you slip it something it's going to scratch. I have one and it has a rubber protection
Pointless wasting, bad habits to also make people buy more of their product.
like honestly, you dont need to spend 25 minutes cleaning a single wheel.
Don't forget to get the wheel wells! A good degreaser and wheel brush works for that.
The Signature Orange cleaner 10:1 does a great job on tire dressing... I came to watch how to properly wash a car wheel but it felt like I was watching a commercial for car products...stopped after 3 mins....
Nice video..informative...what would you recommend to prevent dirt built up after the wheel is fully cleaned?
I have to admit, when he was pushing all the brushes and cleaners, I wasn't buying it. But once I saw how good it works, I'm definitely interested. Just show the product, and let it speak for itself. If it's good, people will talk...
Holy crap a 100 mile commute to work must suck.
Drive a fast car, it makes the drive easier lol
-Greg@CG
Chemical Guys haha yup!
and all this time, I have been just using my water hose and soapy water and my wheels still look good... but, I do need the long fuzzy thing to get the inside part :)
I use a synthetic wax on the outside of wheels sometimes after a good cleaning.
You can do the next few cleanings with a bucket and hose, dust will come right off.
Do you wash wheels or car first?
Hi Victor! We begin with the wheel wash to prevent abrasive particles of dirt and brake dust from being flung onto a freshly washed vehicle.
- CG Nick
I can see how excited you are to drive after you cleaned your wheels.
Can you reuse the microfiber or do you throw them away
any advice on cleaning/protecting clear coated wheels? my 2014 RAM 1500 has polished aluminum wheels that are clear coated. thanks
How do u clean ur brushes after use?
Hi Papo, how's it going? Just use some clean water and whatever Chemical Guys soap you have on hand to wash the brushes. Agitate well to knock all the set in grime off. Make sure to rinse them out with clean water afterwards and let dry! Thanks for watching, and check back tomorrow for another video dropping!
Can you guys do a complete tire/wheel waterless clean?
I was wondering why you recommend reaching deep into the barrels if you're detailing for a show car. Are the front rotors placed wrong ? I believe the lines have to face the other way if I'm correct.
Hey Chemical Guys! Can I use All Clean+ diluted 10:1 on my clear coated wheels?
These products work on black rims as well?
Is there any way to get samples to try out, i just started my own detail business but i like trying out new things to see what works
Hi Jacob, we have sampler kits of our products in 4oz bottles that you could try, we don't send out samples unfortunately. Which products were you thinking about getting, paint protection, waterless wash, wheel cleaning, or trim dressings?
Chemical Guys wheel cleaner, waxes and trim protection
What kind of tires are those??
How do you dilute the product do we need a seperate bottle to do so?
Hey Estevan, we sell bottles that have the volume markings printed on the bottle to assit you in getting the correct dilutions.

Try having fluro white powdercoated 5 spoke rims on a car that just vomits brake dust I could honestly need to clean them once every 3 days if I had the time
What is the difference between this one and the red rocket?
The Show Car Wheel Brush (Red) is great for surfaces that need a bit more cleaning power. The Red Rocket's nylon bristles are more compact and softer for more delicate areas. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
those stiff bristle brushes are amazing!!!!!!!
How many times did he say wash mitt in the video.
Love your videos I been watching a lot of them just to brush up on different ways to do things. I would like to try the diablo gel for the rims can u send a sample bottle?

Great 15' to clean one wheel that will last at least mmmm 2 blocks once you hit the breaks, brake pads dust all over. Nice job.
I have to concourse detailing brush. I like it and it does do a quality job but over time it has weakened at the handle over time. It's getting to the point it's like working with a wet noodle when trying to get into tight spaces.

"Residual water residue." In fairness to your dirty 'before' wheel, the brake dust coating was so even that it appeared that the wheel simply had a pewter finish.

Aggressive wash mits with extra aggressive sides!
Great tips, but 20 minutes on each wheel?? 4 wheels to clean and wash and dry car, sounds like about 2 hours of work!
Perfection cannot be rushed.. Take the time to do it right.. I have a VW Jetta that I spend about 2 hours alone on the wheels. I go a lot more in depth that Greg does but thats just me!
