Been using this UpSide App for 3 yrs! It works. Love it ❤
U should say what countries it's available cuz it's not for Canada
That little Ransom has the best and most exciting life any little guy would love. He is always so willing to learn.
Hi Garry and Cassie, thankyou for taken me fishing today. I didn't catch anything. Mabe next time. ❤ ❤ 😊
You are right...there are people in Oklahoma who raise highlands but if you find them to not work for you....ya got to move on to something that will...❤best of luck Y'all ❤
Keep Geronimo to cross with cows better suited for your area? He’s such a good bull, now that he doesn’t wander. ❤️❤️❤️
Making memories with your boys is precious. They’ll never forget being with dad and catching fish and eating them. The boys will have the videos so they can enjoy you all their life and their kids
I'm just glad that the animals are healthy. If it's too hot - it's just too hot. The animals would probably be happier in a cooler climate. Hopefully, a rancher from up north will reach out to you to purchase them
Agree
I’m sorry to hear about the Highlanders! That’s why I watch your channel!!
Chad Doss has an accidental cross between his highland cow and the neighbor’s angus bull. He looks like an angus. The hair might have been a bit longer, but doesn’t look like a highland at all. In fact, they’re growing him out to butcher.
Chad is also not going to be getting anymore highlands. June and Frank spend all last summer in his pond.
Glad y'all had a good time with Derrick and Phillip. Good that y'all caught enough for a catch clean and cook. Sometimes you just have to do what's best for your situation. GOD bless y'all.
Put a new bull with the girls and see how that works. Geronimo is gorgeous and would be a great bull for another farm. Don't give up.
but Geronimo is running excellent. numbers, Gary just doesn't have the swimming features for them, they're used to rougher territory, & being able to stand belly deep, the creek is cold enough, but nothing like deep enough ~ except in storm season
That's sad about the highlands but it is what it is. The boys looked like they had a great day fishing. God bless.
Good Evening Gary and family…have a blessed evening! And remember, you & Cassie know what’s best for your farm.
I am so sorry that the Highlands are not working out for you Gary and Cassie. And it was so wonderful to see Ranger and Ransom fishing and having such a good time! 🤗🤗💞💞💙💙🙏🙏🙏🙏Prayers for all that need it now
Oh!!!!! Now I want some catfish! Congrats to all the wonderful fishermen! Loved watching you making memories and remembering my memories of fishing! Thanks so much! Happy Days! ☀️😁👏🤗🥰🙏🏻
Gary thank you for sharing everything.God bless you all.
Will be sad to see the highlands go sorry baby's
I love the highland cows, but you have to do what you got to do, and you know what’s best Gary, you and the boy’s done good on the fishing 🎣 trip I love to eat catfish. l know Cassie and Mazzy had a good time at Country Cottage girl’s day out❤❤❤❤❤
I’m 72 and I knew that old remedy for catfish fins!
If animals can't do their job on the farm, the tough decision is usually the right decision. Unless you want to become a petting zoo! Can you tell I was raised on a farm?
That’s it exactly
Sorry,they seems so calm😮🌷👍🇺🇸
Highlands in hotter weather definitely need a pond.
Hey WFF, awesome day at the river 🎉.
I just finished Derek's video,he was gracious to give you guys a fish fry🎉.
Whoo Hoo little men💪💯%.
Awe, that's no good.
You can't feed an animal quality food for bread and not have it turned out🫢.
I've watched you 2 work cattle for many years, your talents should go into a breed
that suits the land and your capabilities .
A sad day though they are beautiful animals😢.
JO JO IN VT 💞
It will be sad having to sell your Highland cattle, but as you said Gary, if they aren’t procreating then you need to make a change on the farm 🥹 Good luck with that🤞 The fish fry dinner looked delicious😋😋😋
Yes, keep Geronimo. He makes beautiful calls with Blackberry. ❤
Sorry about your Highlands, you're making the right choice for them . Love you guys 😊
You know what You are doing, will miss the Highlands if they go.😊
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO GARY RANSOM AND RANGER 😊
Yes, it will be sad to see the Highlands go, but you can’t just have livestock ornaments on a working farm.
Wow! That was a big fish Ransom.
The fish fry looked so good. Thanks Derrick.
Gary, y’all should get the pond guy to come and make a pond for you! He’s amazing! And your cows will thank you! The boys were having a blast fishing! Ranger and Ransom! The look on their faces when they pulled those catfish out of the water! Priceless! Mazzie got her a whole box of nutty buddies!😂 I love those babies!❤❤ Lots of prayers for everyone! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
They have a pond
The Highlands area just so beautiful
Yeah will be sorry to see the Highlands leave, especially Geronimo! He is very nice bull.
You just have to remind & teach folks it’s a working farm & the expense & work for hard is hard. It’s your farm & it’s pretty obvious you know what you’re doing. I care about the success of your farm to take care of your family.
I'm not sure who was more excited. The boys with their fishing trip or Mazzy getting to go to Country Cottage. I can understand getting rid of animals that won't produce, but it will be sad to lose them. You just have to do what's best for your farm. I've heard several people talk about that vet over in Siloam Springs. They must be really good. There's a fun museum over there the kids might enjoy. My boys did. God bless.
I've caught A LOT of catfish in my time but I never heard of rubbing a puncture wound on the belly of the catfish. I sure did enjoy your day of fishing...I haven't been fishing for a very long time ...about 10yrs. Sad about the Highlands but you gotta do what is best for you AND the animals. God Bless and Stay Safe ❤🙏🙌
Thanks for your wonderful videos.
Oh I bet they had the best time.. I love catfish fishing
It was so fun!
Enjoyed watching and what a great time fishing. So proud of Ransom catching a big one. The fish fry sure looked real good. Sorry to hear about the Highlands. Hope your having a great weekend. Love y'all
Gary that is sad I love those highland cows I even bought a highland shirt I know you got to do what you got to do but I will miss them
We do too but no point in keeping something that doesn’t produce
Tough decision - but totally understand.
Loved seeing the fishing 🎣!
I will miss them when they go but you have to do what is best for your farm.
you got a LOT of fish! that makes a great day of fishing! :-)
Oh My Goodness... 😄... I Am So AMAZED At How Many Fish Them Boys Were Catching... What Great Fun, Guy's... I Enjoyed Watching Yaw'll... I Enjoyed This Video Gary & Cassie... ❤
Looked like you all had a great time down at the river! 😍🎣
I'm sorry to hear about the Highlands, Gary, but you have to do what you have to do. ❤️
So sorry about the results. Was very envious of your catfish fry. My favorite I think.
The fishing was awesome, yummy
I like highlands too. Sad. I want to thank you Gary for going to Sulphur, OK to pitch in and for the group heading there to help. Just seeing strangers coming to your aid is a great feeling in the face of tragedy. God bless you.
What a wonderful spot to fish and have a fish fry. Brings back great memories. Good day to spend with friends.
It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks Gary, you have to put your family first. Yes it would have been fantastic in an ideal world if all the highland cows had babies but weather conditions play a huge factor. You have to think of your family! I'm from northwest UK of Scottish decent and love to see highland cattle thrive but when they don't I know they have to move elsewhere. Hope you find other cattle that work well.
It was a perfect evening out on the river. Memories were made that will last a lifetime. It’s always a great time when we all get together! 👍🎣
Yes it was! Thanks again
Got to do what you have to do. for your farm. love the chickens! Nice fish boys!!
Hi Gary, sorry about the highlands. Oh my the fish you guys caught, nothing better than fresh fish. Thanks for sharing
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals and fishing
Love to you all ❤
Loved the ride to the river! Looks like everyone had a great time. You gotta do what you gotta do! You know what is best for your farm! The set up worked great for loading. Love you all. ❤❤ God bless. 🙏🙏
Your need for cattle for your farm is entirely your choice. You make those decisions. Not us! You might check with Chad Doss, he has at least one highland cow on his new place, and he might be open for more.
Chad has said he didn’t want anymore highlands because of Fred his highland bull died
Chad also feels the weather is too hot and humid for highlands.
Sorry about the girl Highlands. You will do what is best for your farm family. Fishing and the fry looked awesome! I love catfish 😋
Love and prayers 💜😇
Geronimo looked pitiful in that shoot to be tested.
Not his favorite day im sure
I’m sorry about the Highlands. Love those little ones. However as long as you keep my favorite Blackberry all is good. She’s a great animal too. ❤
Nice to get away to do a bit of fishing....The boys had a ball...plus caught a few as well.....Shame about the Highlands...But bull is good......Maybe new area will be all good....Stay safe and see you on the next one...Prayers to everyone
Highland cows are a pretty cow.
Yes, my favorite looking breed by far
What a Fun Fun Day for your Sons!!!!! God Bless Us All!!!
I’m so sorry the highlands didn’t work out well in your climate as they are such beautiful animals.
I hope they end up on a nice farm where they will be loved and taken good care of. 🙏
Hugs, Love and Prayers for you all. Grammie Suzie 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hope the British Whites work out better. I enjoy the highlands, especially the calves, but I can see that your farm needs to pay for itself. 💖💖💖
🐳🐳 Big fish😛
Fishing was fun, I could really tell. God bless y’all!
Glad to see you and boys have fun fishing with friends. I’m with you Mazzy and Cassie country cottage sounds like my go to also. Sorry to hear about the highlands remember you visiting chads before deciding and then bringing some to yours. You tried had heartache along the way and sometimes it’s time to try things new. Be nice to watch Missy and Mae Mae grow up. Sequoia is such a cute bull Geronimo gentle giant. Make a new farm very happy. Take care God Bless. 🙏💕
Love you all so much! ❤ God bless
I really appreciate the way Derrick explained to Ranger and the boys the correct and safe way to hold that fish. Looks like it was a fun day for all.
Psalm 98:4-6
4 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
5 Sing to the Lord with the harp,
With the harp and the sound of a psalm,
6 With trumpets and the sound of a horn;
Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.
Derrick was being very intentional. He’s a great friend
Looks like a really fun time fishing. ❤️ Maybe be a colder climate for highlands? Glad Geronimo is good to go 🌞
What a fun day for the boys .
Love watching your videos and the fun you have in the country. I just wish I was 30 or more years younger and done things much different, I love the country❤❤
So sorry the highlands are mooving on.
Your son of a few words 😊😄.He has me laughing. Stay Blessed 😇🙏🙏🙏.
Great video Gary. Sorry about your highlands. Yes, I like the looks of them too. They are pretty Cattle. Blessings over you and your family from OKC. Thanks for your time of helping in Sulphur.❤
Well done boys..loved Derek setting them up with the steps, setting them up for sucess!
I think you’re just doing what’s best for your farm you don’t know if you don’t try like you said buddy 🙏🏻
I feel for you on the Highlands. I love them. I wanted to breed my dog but it never happened. We don't love her any less.
Ranger is really sprouting. 😮
Hello Walkers. Fishing with Derek looked like fun. Sorry to hear about the cattle. I understand ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Thank you for the video.
Thanks 👍
I’m so sorry the highland are not working out. They are beautiful animals. I will miss them when you decide to move them on. God’s blessings
Sorry to see the Highlands go. They are such beautiful animals.
❤What Fun for Stoked Livin Derek & Philip to Invite other Dad & Sons to Fish & Eat their Bounty! Nice Fish! GOOD JOB RANGER & RANSOM I Always wondered about the Highlands I understand they come from a cold climate Originally, the Extreme Heat would Be quite Hard on them. It May be Hard but on a Farm You have to Weigh the cost.. GOD BLESS & TAKE CARE
Hello Gary and Cassie, looks like a nice spot for fishing. Wow the catching is going good. Come on Ransom reel that fish in. Good for you nice catch. That’s to bad about the highland cattle but you have to do what you have to do. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Doss Farms has a Harland Angus steer. He is so pretty. I love his build. I raised Angus when I was in the cattle business. Yes, if a cow does not produce a calf at least once a year and sometimes you can get if bread it’s a right season you can get two caves a year if I remember correctly, it was about every third year, we have cattle to make money and that’s the thing if they can’t produce, we move them on if I was still in the cattle business I would have me a highland bull tChads Highland cow went vesting the neighbors Angus bull and she produced that Angus Highland bull I think he is beautiful.
He’s a steer & they plan on meat from him.
Never easy moving animals on. Great video most enjoyable thanks. Chris from England
Pray on it, let your Holy Spirit guide your steps. 🐄🐮🌻
Its ok if you have to get rid of them. That is part of farming. I am excited to see what the future holds for Walker Farm Fam,
I saw this coming. Great job fishing.
Gary , there is a vast difference in climate between where you live and Scotland, we get much more rain( all year ) 😂 ,probably not so high temperatures in the spring and probably the summer months also . Perhaps this is why the success rate of calf’s being born as you said. Again though Angus Cattle also originated in North East Scotland often referred to hear as Aberdeen Angus . Another Scottish breed of cattle is the Belted Galloway it’s a black cow withe a white belt around the middle of the animal. Oops getting carried away there . Great video as always, Take care and stay safe, with best wishes to you all from Scotland 🏴
I like all of them but angus are great producers here, top dollar and very hearty
They're designed to live on very poor rough grazing, not pasture as such..my brother farms in Scotland on the West Coast near Oban,he keeps highlands and crosses them to a Simmental bull mostly.. gorgeous slow grown natural fed beef. Got me missing that now,as I moved to Portugal.
Gary put the females on high magnesium feed cobs ( not too much as theyre already looking well) with extra selenium ,but yes they do like to paddle. They also naturally would be eating some tree bark..not loads and seaweed ( kelp).
With my exhusband we farmed sheep and cattle, our breed of choice was beef shorthorn, we had Galloway and belted Galloway too,and a breed known as a " blue grey" which I believe was bred from a Galloway to a White Park ,please someone correct me if I'm wrong..the blue greys were a recognised breed on their own, what a lovely docile cow, with plenty of milk ...do miss the cows, but not the work.
I don't remember anybody telling that about the catfish sting. Thank you
Hello Cassie & Gary & the kids, so happy you & the boys went fishing for so relaxation & the catch & cook! It looked good.
Sorry about the highlands but if they are not doing what they should it is better they move on like you said, hopefully a cooler climate. I was happy to see how Mazzy acted when Cassie told her they were going to your family's favorite place to eat. Take care & God Bless 🙏❤🤗👍
Hi Gary, Mazzy is a girl after my own heart Nutty Buddy's yummy!! LOL There is nothing like fresh cought fish. Bless you Derick, That is good to know about Geronimo that he is very fertil but oh no the girls aren't pregnant. Yes it is sad news that they need to go but I understand, maybe the next farm they go to will have a pond to cool them down in so they can breed. Love you guys God bless you and until next time take care
Wow! Great fishing spot 👊
It was beautiful
So sorry about the Highlands!
I watched Al Lumnah, Ben & Jason on their podcast. Boy did l learn alot about Highland cows. I hear they are the BEST tasting as well
That fish looked so good! Those were huge ones. We have shads in Connecticut too. Y’all take care! ✨🙏✨
I just installed the Upside app Gary. Thank you. ♥️
Love Ya’all
Always enjoy your family, animals, et al. ❤❤❤❤
Im sorry the cows are open and you will be taking them to the auction. You can get more productive cows to raise.
It was great watching the kids fishing! I LOVE fishing, Ive fished almost from the time I could walk and Ive over 40 now. Catfish is my all-time favorite fish to catch AND eat! I knew about watching out for their spike fins but, never knew about rubbing their bellies on where I get spiked. Im very careful not to get spiked but it still happens.
as a farmer you gotta do what is best for you and your family and farm...no need to apologize to anyone for trying to do the best for the farm and family...i love the highlands too but thats how life at times
gonna miss the Highlands. They are my favorite breed of cows as well. Poppy has always been my favorite, sorry to hear she was not pregnant. At least you know there is nothing wrong with the grass as those girls are pretty dang plump lol. Anyways cannot wait to see which way you will go for a bull. Will Salt be prego checked or are you just going to wait to see if Geronimo bred her?
I'm glad you're keeping Missy & MayMay. I was afraid you were going to get rid of all of them. I really hate to see any of them go but it's your farm. I think Highlands are my favorite breed of cattle because of their huge horns, red or brown fur and their temperament. I really do hope they get bought by a farm in the north where they will be more comfortable and possibly breed again.
