I'm not a Logic user but Cubase. In Cubase you can do Articulation set even for libraries that have separate patch for each articulation. By inserting all patches for all articulation in One Kontakt with different midi channels and while programing the Articulation set, you just assign the articulation you need to the relevant midi channel. this is fantastic. Try this, maybe it is applicable in Logic as well.
i have been dealing with this the whole year, still didn’t find my self. Now with EW orchestrator i am confused again!…. And wouod be better if EW did obvious things like purge all, or let automate the mute and solo in orchestrator, what a huge mistake
i really hope logic learns from cubase and studio one regarding articulation sets, it is very limited in logic and cannot see what articulation you are even looking at without clicking on the notes. You can color notes by articulation but if you use stuff like vsl and have tons of them it becomes hard to spot which one does what just by color
considering that we use different vsts the multitrack art. is unfortunately still the best. Everything that is hidden while composing is a huge problem for thought association. The best is to invest in good tecchniques to manage big templates as it were small. But still it sucks: it doesn’t look like a score, and many times we need to read like a score! I just don’t forgive why daws and vsts still can’t relate channels, art., score, and tracks in a reasonable manner! I guess this has to do with the fact of being an industry of “beats”

Personnaly I mainly rely on the articulation sets. When I have a new library one of the 1st thing I do is to program its articulation set.
Articulation sets have become such a powerful tool in my template workflow! 🙌🏼
Super useful info. Thanks Robert!
Thanks Robert, Very clear info. I'm just starting with Logic Orchestral Templates. Have you used VSL VEP pro with your templates?

absolutely. But i wonder if Logic Pro has still more important features
