Dead Air converted my Wolf to a Wolfman a few years back and it improved performance exponentially. We did it to increase .300Blk capability to work on supersonic rounds as well.
Good to see they took my advice. My wolfman did not come with the spanner wrenches. I had to contact dead air , but to their credit, they sent me a pair without complaints.
I primarily use my wolfman in the short config with a 556 fh end cap and run it on my 16” rifle. Sounds better than my sandman s in said config also less back pressure as well. I highly recommend the wolfman.
OUTSTANDING Video!!!! I FINALLY got my Wolfman out of NFA Jail about a month ago after 10 Months, and it's TOTALLY BADASS!!! You covered EVERY single detail. Thank you for taking the time to make the video.
Just hit 201 days and counting on my Wolfman Naked eForm4. 😭 Awesome and thorough review! Answered some questions I had that other reviews didn't touch on. Plus your tip on the chopped down 3 port brakes 💪💯 I'll likely keep returning to your review as a reference in setting up some of my planned hosts 😅
Hey, your getting there 🗓️ Don’t loose hope yet. Sweet, I’m glad the review was helpful for you man 👊🏻 hopefully the other videos will be helpful as well 👍
You're gonna love that can lol, I have mine naked also. Just gonna give you some advise. The can will change color the more you shoot it because of the heat, which should be expected. It's gonna give a nice light bronze color lol but.. it will also stain stupid easy if you use anything to losses or tighten when hot. So make sure your fully tight before shooting and make sure to let it cool down before you use something to check it.
Update: After 264 days, the Alphabet Soup let me take my Wolfman home! Pew'd it on my Scorpion SBR and FN 509T. Surprisingly quiet with 124gr and well worth the wait! Can't wait to get some 147gr or 150gr subs through it. Also planning to send some 7.62x39 supers and subs and little 5.56 through it next month. Mine did NOT come with wrenches 😭 Same packaging as in the video. Currently waiting on Dead Air to email me back and hopefully they can send me some 🤞
I don’t however understand why this can didn’t not come with a key micro brake and qd adapter, like the sandman does. Save folks the money, add it from the factory and charge a bit more.
Then you're not saving money if they're adding it and like he kept saying ,They're gearing towards subgun/pcc. And ppl don't like doing their research will wonder why it cost so much compared to the dedicated rifle can
Great video! Definitely the most thorough walkthrough of a suppressor I’ve seen yet. I’m at about a year waiting on my Wolfman. Hoping for any day now, but not getting my hopes up. If I’d waited for the e-file I might be done waiting by now!
Thanks Jay! If your at a year then I’d think you should be getting notified before too much longer. E-file has been longer than projected too, so don’t beat yourself up for not waiting.
I'm at 176 days on an eForm 4 Trash Panda and 134 days on an eForm 4 DA Wolfman, so at this point eForm isn't great either lol. I've been seeing Paper Form 4s come in between 350-405 days recently on the r/NFA Reddit
I love my wolf man My first CAN and I'm so happy I went with this over silencer co hybrid 46 I run it on all my 9mm, sub gun or pistols. I run it on both my 5.56 AR's. I've ran it on friends 300blk and his 7.62 AK. It's an amazing suppressor =)
Thanks for the info. I have the wolf man and I like it. The reason I got it is I could use on different guns. But. But I have to get something different to run on my glock or canik pistol. That’s where your info helped me. Thanks again
Funny this came across my feed. Today I get to go pick up my wolfman supressor- form 4 filed on 15may2024, got approved 22july2024 on a non SS Trust. I picked up a tri lug adaptor as it will stay on my APC9 SBR
Building a 9mm pcc setup as my next gun and I went to the favorite gun store today and was talking to also my favorite gun shop employee there. He highly recommended this because of the modularity. Needless to say I put my deposit down and I can’t wait for my first can. Great video and very detailed. Just have to figure out what that thing you called an e brake is.
Hard to go wrong with this can 🤙 The Ebrake works as a diffuser/ brake on the end of your suppressor. It’s not really made for 9mm and you can easily get some front cap strikes if things aren’t perfectly aligned. But for 223 and 30 cal still I’d recommend getting one. It will take away a couple decibels and you should notice the can quiet the report down a little better.
The SilencerCo Omega 36M would be this cans direct competition or closest competition but with the SilencerCo you can shoot the magnums si its definitely tougher... I was torn between it and this one but I'm kind of a Dead Air fanboy so I went with the Wolfman. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Hey Daniel! Someone else mentomned the YHM Nitro N20 as another very similar can that can handle up to 308. The 38M is still something I’d like to try someday. It’s pretty close to both of of these cans but definitely out “toughs” them 💪
I built an AR-9 around mine. 3-4" barrel is the sweet spot to keep subsonics extra slow and still get one hole groups at 25 yards. Loudest noise is the brass hitting the ground. Mines fully tucked and my handguard stays ice cold. I think the modularity scares some people off but that's not why I got it. I got it because it's simple direct thread and simple welded steel. I can try to tighten the end cap and know that the whole stack is tight and aligned. I wouldn't trust qd. That's a few mm of locking surface vs threading which is a few inches. It's longer and fatter than other offerings so while it is measurably better it also has a better tone. Sounds like a quiet thump instead of a quiet gunshot. I could shoot it in the next room and you would think I dropped a book or something insignificant.
I had to go back and look too. Y’all had me thinking I got it wrong 😵💫 My older can didn’t come with any but the new one I have did come with wrenches. They also changed the box that the new one came in so I’ll be they made the switch then.
I must admit thats the most in depth explanation and review ive ever seen! Nice. Im interested and if I could give you cash I would right now. The 300 blk demos are so damn quiet its crazy. The 7.62x39 is on my radar. Great video brother!
Thanks man 😎👊🏻 It one beast of a can. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a thousand more times, the Wolfman is probably Dead Airs most versatile can 💪
You can run the full sized key mount flash hider with this can and it will not damage anything. This is info staring from dead air’s accessory fitment guide.
Great review and info. I opted for the jack of all trades and got the Wolfman. I also have a Harvester Evo and will get another suppressor specifically for .308 primary usage.
@winstonsmiths2449 I can totally understand the “analysis paralysis” feeling. My best advise is to evaluate what features you want in your can(size, weight, mounting options, flash reduction, back pressure…) and pick a can based on you needs. There is NO perfect can, they all do things a little differently. So don’t stress about getting one can that will cover all you bases even in one caliber. I have some short little K cans and they do well at knocking off some decibels and being lightweight, but if I want something really quiet then I’m going to have to go with a larger and generally, heavier can.
Caleb, enjoyed the review. Mine didn't come with wrenches and they were out if stock for so long, I had to find an alternative method to change out adapters. I'm not an engineer, but Griffin seems to have a better system for wipe use as it doesn't contact the the end cap and has more room to flex.
Hey Richard, glad you enjoyed the review 👊🏻 I just went and looked up the Griffin Armament wipe system and it does look pretty slick. I had several folks comment that they didn’t get wrenches, it made me have to go back and double check. It appears the older cans did not come with wrenches but the new cans are coming with them.
This was super helpful! I think the Wolfman is the can for me. Gonna be my first suppressor and use it on my big boy x lever 357, using 38spl and also my FPC. Then can also throw on my other stuff if wanted. Would you say this is the way to go?
Question on the Tri-lug MP5. Do you leave the thread cover on or take it off? I've heard conflicting opinions. Some say take it off because you don't want it coming off while shooting and destroying your Wolfman. Some say leave it on because if you take it off, the Wolfman will have some play/wobble. Your thoughts?
Great question Brent. I took the thread protector off. I just went out and tested it with the thread protector on and non of my tri-lugs(YHM, Dead Air, SilencerCo) would fit over the thread protector. I haven’t had any trouble with my cans being wobbly or having baffle strikes because of the lack of a thread protector. If you have a tri-lug and it does fit over your thread protector, then I’d suggest you simply loctite the thread protector on and not worry about it. I hope that answers your question 🤔
Caleb,Amazing video man appreciate the content! My wolfman was just released to me after 347 day wait.I have a 9mm banshee that has CMMG ZEROED LINEAR COMPENSATOR on it with a 1/2 X 28 thread.if I take off the muzzle and direct thread to my barrel I should be A1 correct?I should be good but it doesn’t hurt to triple check and ask questions before I damage something.Thank you for the response in advance.
@@CalebDowningquick response my mannn!!💪🏽.I appreciate your content.Your the reason I got into AR 9 platforms firearms.2 years ago I was looking at your Feyachi iron sights review on your sick azz AR9 build.Made me get my PCC banshee and I brought those sights for my bullpup.Thank you again!
It’s ironic that you had welding issues, because so did I. I had to return my wolfman to dead air for a few weeks. The technician texted me updates and told me that it looked pretty awful after putting a guide rod in it. ( I had already done the same by that point ) Got it fixed and it seems to be ok now.
Quick question. I currently have my wolfman in jail, as I watch vids on the wolfman, I have yet to see how to clean a wolfman. Can you do a vid on how to maintain and clean a wolfman? I haven't seen any on UA-cam yet.
There’s not much of a need to clean them, that’s probably why you haven’t seen any cleaning videos. The simplest way to clean it would be to use an ultrasonic cleaner. If you can’t get one of those then simply focus on the mount. Get it scrubbed up nice and good and then keep it oiled.
I got a batch approved for 4 cans...and I'm waiting for 6 more at this point I don't have a great organization method for all the attachments...Can you do a video on what do you use to keep track of all this attachments thank you.
First world problems man 😏 Haha… I’ll do a video on that. Here shortly for you 👍 Congrats on your batch approval! 🎉🎊 That’s like Christmas and a birthday wrapped up into one 🕺🏻
Probably the best video I’ve seen on suppressors in general, and especially on the Wolfman! One question I did have in particular is , and correct me if my terminology is incorrect, is timing your baffles something I should be worried about?
Well thanks man 👊🏻😎 You don’t need to worry about timing the baffles. If you are putting this suppressor on a long range precision build then you probably should just zero with the can on and leave it. But that’s true across the board not just with the Wolfman. I wouldn’t worry about timing things for general shooting.
@@CalebDowning ok that’s what I thought but wasn’t sure. I most always run it on my 300 blk out but occasionally throw it on my 5.56. Also I wanted your opinion on what suppressor I should run for the 6.5 cm I’m building, and / or more importantly can I run a suppressor on a carbon fiber barrel?
Hmm, that one I’m not sure on 🤔 I’m a dead air fan boy so I’d suggest a suppressor in the Nomad line. If it’s ultra quiet you want then I’d go with the Nomad-L, if you want something more lightweight yet quiet then the Nomad Ti would be my choice. I know there are other companies out there that would have good choices as well but I don’t have personal experience with 6.5. As far as a carbon wrapped barrel goes, I believe your good to go with a suppressor 👍
Great video! Have you found any difference in accuracy with keymicro vs 3 lug on pcc? I’m running an aac titant with 3 lug and the accuracy is pretty rough
My Wolfman is just stupid quiet with supers and subs, gas block needs some adjusting to feed subs but on the right track, what in your opinion is the best sub ammo for the 300 blkout, thanks
Right on Sam 👊🏻 The subs that I shoot are the 200gr S&B loads and they work great for me. I’ve got the stuff to reload some 220gr versions but I haven’t yet.
I have a quick question that I think I know the answer but want to verify, I need to adjust/close up gas block to redirect gas pressure from the tube to the barrel to keep BCG open after the last round on shooting subs, thanks in advance and love your channel
Hey Sam. I believe you have that backwards. If the bolt is not going back far enough to lock open then it needs more gas. You would want to open the gas block in that case. I hope that helps. Glad you enjoy the channel man!
@@CalebDowning Hey Caleb, here is where I am with my suppressed 300, I installed the adjustable metering screw, open 1 turn shot 1 round, did this til I was open about 6 turns, thing is rounds are ejecting around 4 o clockish but bolt not locking open after last round, any ideas or suggestions, I removed the hand guard for easier access to adjust and plan on making it back to the range, and help would be great, thanks is advance
Hmm, that is puzzling 🤔 Two things that come to mind. A lighter recoil spring and opening your gas port. Opening the gas port has worked for me before but it is not a taste to be taken lightly. If you do it then your obviously making a permanent change to your system. Sprinco makes a YELLOW reduced power spring that may help your system run 🤔
Thanks Rick 👊🏻 I think the newer cans come with with the wrenches. My old can in the colorful package did not come with the wrenches but my buddy’s new black packaged one did come with them.
Hi, thx for the great video. Since you asked... I want to use the Wolfman primarily for my PCC which is a ptr 9kt 9mm. Do I need any additional parts to make the Wolfman work with it? From your video, I think it will screw right onto the gun? Secondly I'm going to buy a ptr 32 which is 762x39. Same question. Do I need to purchase any adapter for that to work? Is there a way to configure the suppressor to do quick disconnect / reconnect from both? Thank you for your help.
Hey Jeff Thanks for taking the time to comment on the video 👍 If you want to configure your Wolfman to run on both those firearms then you may want to look into the KeyMicro adapter and mounts. It’s been a solid and quick mounting solution for me and it’ll handle the 9mm and 7.62x39 with ease. Just be sure to get a 9mm bore muzzle device for the 9KT. A 3Lug mount would be awesome for the 9KT but it’s not made to handle the 7.62x39. The Wolfman should come with a 1/2x28 direct thread so you should be able to simply direct thread to the 9KT.
Why do they no longer come with the spanner wrenches? I received mine a couple weeks ago and found out they no longer include the wrenches for disassembly. In the box there is a cut out section for them.
I’m looking at getting my first suppressor. Primary host 12.5” AR 5.56. But i have a bolt action 7.62x39. Future I might pick up a mp5 clone….. with that said the wolf man seems like a great choice to fit those roles. But for an AR. How is it mainly in terms of suppression, back pressure, flash? I’d prob run it in the short configuration with 556 end cap. Thanks
The Wolfman would definitely fill that roll. I was thinking that maybe the sandman or nomad series would be better but honestly you’ll de great with the Wolfman. Keep in mind that you’ll need short KeyMo mounts if you plan to run that system. The flash with a 5.56 front cap does a great job of knocking down the flash, back pressure is pretty good to be honest, and as you can hear in the video it does a pretty good job at suppressing the noise of the 5.56. The main thing I would take into consideration with this can is the fire schedule you intend to run. If you shoot a couple mags per range trip then your fine. But if you do multiple classes or 500+ rounds per day then you may want to step up to a heavier duty can like the Sandman.
I never understood the need for suppressor-high sights. You'll see the normal handgun sights just fine with the wolfman attached shooting both eyes opened.
@@CalebDowning no problem you got a subscriber out of this one, I would love to see one on the primal I’ve been thinking about one for my 450 bushmaster AR, even tho I think the ATF purposely screwed up the process and I ended up waiting almost a year for my wolfman.
Awesome man 😎👊🏻 Here’s the one I did on the Primal… Dead Air Primal - Review ua-cam.com/video/WuLN6UjJb48/v-deo.html That thing does amazingly on the 45 ACP 😱
@@CalebDowning awesome thank you I’ll go watch that, So a quick question when you use the tri lug for the wolf man is there and play after you lock it on to the lugs? I can turn mine about 1/4 inch left and right even though it’s locked onto the lugs. It makes me a little uneasy because you’d think that can changed your point of impact especially at a further distance
The tri-lug is going to have play in it. That’s one reason some folks don’t like it. For precision work tri-lugs aren’t that great. For close range stuff, like what most PCCs are made for, you shouldn’t really notice much any shift. One thing folks will do it make sure to orient your suppressor the day way every time you mount it and that way you lock onto the same lugs every time. That’s one way to help negate impact shifts l.
Ya know, that’s an excellent question 🤔 I’ll bet they would say it’s not rated for it even if it’s subsonic. If you were reloading your own stuff and used something like Trail Boss then I think it’d be ok( I’m still not sure I’d try it though).
If you are gonna be doing loads of mag dumps then go with the Sandman. But honestly I think the Wolfman would serve you better, especially on that 300BLK.
Wolfman was my first suppressor I've since got the nomad L, mask and ghost. I think I'm going to get 2 more Wolfman so I can leave them on the ar9 357 handi rifle and 9x39 permanently.
@@CalebDowning yeah the Wolfman just works I thought of trying other companies 9mm stuff but the versatility keeps making come back to Wolfman. I will say the primal has my interest too.
@@CalebDowning yes the 36m is the one that makes the most sense if I was going outside dead air plus it can do heavy caliber rifle if I needed. Did you use the primal on 458 socom or 45-70 ? The bowers 458 has me thinking it might be better with its 11 inch 1.75 diameter and the primal for my 45 long colt single shot &ar45
Agreed 👍 I went up to 45-70 with the primal and it did very well it seems to really shine when you start using higher pressure rounds like 308,30-06, and 45-70. I’m currently working on getting my 45 1911 up and running. Once it’s ready I’m gonna do a Primal video like my other Dead Air can reviews. At some point I readily do plan to get a 38M.
I don’t know of a mount that will work on both as a quick detach. So I’d suggest getting the Key-Mo for the 300BLK and the Griffin Armament Cam-lok or EZ-Lok for the G19.
Can you shoot a ar10 308 win with the Wolfman ? I’m looking at buying a psa sabre in 308win and using my Wolfman with the key micro that I already have
I don’t think that would be good. I know the Wolfman can handle some rifle cartridges like 5.56 and 7.62x39 but I don’t think it’ll handle 308 very well.
It’s gonna be better. I just released the Sandman K video last week so you could pull up both videos and hear the difference. The Wolfman in shirt is still a little larger then the Sandman K and it did sound better to me in person.
@@CalebDowning Concur. The only upshot to the Sandman K is the stellite baffles if your just doing mag dump after mag dump. @freighttrain58 The adjustable KNS piston is an excellent upgrade for any suppressed AK. My Zastava M70 shoots like a dream now that I can dial back the piston speed when running a can.
Man u answered so many questions I've had and I don't even care about suppressor. I've always wondered about how ppl go from 556 to 308 to 300 blkout didn't realize u could thread adapter on end. Question do y'all have to form 1 a silencer when u mod out a silencer that u didn't build but ur changing shit on it? Like if u buy a 30cal silencer and it is threaded for 308 5/8x??? It obviously won't work on a 556 unless u change it. How does that work legally?
I’m not a lawyer so take what I say with a grain of salt. Some cans are designated as a “pistol” can but are built tough enough to be able to handle some rifle calibers. You can shoot those other calibers through the pistol suppressor and be fine legally. You can usually change out mounts and be perfectly in the clear. Where you would run into issues would be if you did a permanent modification that altered the caliber of the suppressor itself or the permanent length of the suppressor. Maybe someone else can chime in and verify this info for you too.
Great video, certainly aided in my decision-making process. Looking to scoop a can up for my B&T APC9 Pro and my CZ Scorpion, I think this is the way.. Sub +1!
hi caleb i have a ruger 9mm charger and a ruger 22mm charger and a rugger ar15 556 and also a desert eagle 45acp full size 1911 any sugestions would be greatly appreciated i was looking at this dead air for everything but the 45 what do you think thank you in advance
The Wolfman would work for the 9mm and 5.56 but I wouldn’t use it for the 22 though. I’d suggest getting the Dead Air Mask for the 22 and then either stick with the Wolfman for the 9mm and 5.56, or go with the Primal and be able to suppress the 45 as well.
@@CalebDowning thank you so much for reply the primal is out of stock would there be another one that you would recommend or should i wait for the primal thank you
@@CalebDowning would the primal be as good for the 556 and the 9mm as the wolfman is or should i get all 3 and id i do is the primal the best match for the 45 sorry for all the questions new to silencers and you seem to be the only one that knows about this and is willing to help so i thank you for your help hmmm maybe you reviewed the primal ill check it out if you did
If you want one can that does them all(minus 22lr) then I’d say just wait for the Primal to come back in stock. Now, I’ve gotta say this… I would caution against trying to get one suppressor to do “everything”. I did that for my first suppressor and it’s probably my least used suppressor now. I have found that it’s best to get more specific cans vs one general one. For the purposes you originally mentioned I’d recommend getting the Mask, Wolfman, and Ghost. If you are pressed and can really only get one then I’d still recommend the Primal. The Primal does a fantastic job at suppressing high pressure(308, 30-06, 45-70…) cartridges. It does a good job at suppressing the 45 too. But you’ve got to keep in mind the Primal is a 45 caliber rifle suppressor that can work on a pistol. The Ghost is a dedicated 45 caliber pistol suppressor. It can all get pretty complicated but ask yourself this question: What is the intended purpose of your suppressor? If you are trying to keep the cost down and get as few cans as possible and the expense of size/weight/sound-reduction then the Primal is probably what you’d looking for. But I’d you really want the best balance of size/weight/sound-reduction then getting 3 or so different cans will be better in the long run. Sorry if that’s information overload 🤯 if you want more clarification just ask away. Ya know, I may make a video on this very topic 🤔
@@CalebDowning hi thank you for all your help. i just ordered the mask and the wolfman wasnt too hard so now i think i want to get a dedicated 1911 45acp can full size 5" barrel any iseas on the best one and also trying to find help on what drop in barrel to get for my mr1911 hard to find answers just thought id ask you see if you can help with that and now i want to get a 300 black out to use the wolfman on any choices for best barrel length thank you brian
Got mine after a 219 day wait. I was NOT willing to bid $500 on their stupid, always-out-of-stock DA444 trilug adaptors that they manufacture only during the blood moon, so I went a different route. Eccomachine (and other companies?) Make thread adaptors to take KVP and SiCo trilug mounts. I went SiCo for peace of mind. $150ish trilug mount all said and done. I reccomend anyone to check out the alternative trilug mounts. Only downside is that they might add a bit of overall length.
Well there ya go. I know it was a bear and a half to find one when I was looking for mine. They seem to show up in waves. But using an adapter would work too, nice 🤙
HAAAAALLELUJAH, HAAAAALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELUUUUUUUUUJAH! You're wearing ear pro, Holy Sht! You get one set of ears, so it's good to see you taking care of them for a change!!
A hacksaw and 2 minutes 😁 Honestly, I just cut the last port off and then cleaned up the cut with a file. You aren’t going to hurt anything but you’ll get to use the brake on your Key-Micro adapters.
@@CalebDowning honestly that’s the only reason I want to do it. I can find a bunch of used keymo brakes but finding used key micro brakes are pretty hard to find. So I wondered about chopping the last port off but wasn’t sure if it would work. I’m still waiting on my form 4 it’s been 176 days. And I e filed. Also I’m kinda regretting my choice. Instead of the wolfman. I should have went with the omega 36M I wouldn’t have to get a key micro or anything and I would be able to run it on more things. But o well. I’ll just have to get more cans 🤣
I think I’ve chopped ally brakes by now. I don’t generally shoot the brakes without a can so I’m not getting much benefit with all three ports anyway. The can mounts off the back of the brake(the taper and locking area) not the front, so you aren’t going to ruin the brake if you chop off some ports. I hear ya on the 36M. I hadn’t been able to use on but that guy is on my radar. I will say though, if I ever do get a 36M I will probably put a key-mo adapter on it. So it’s still worth chopping those brakes down 👌 The Wolfman a pretty awesome can in my opinion. There are some pros and cons to its competitors but you’ll get a ton of use out of the Wolfman. 👍
@@CalebDowning thanks for the help man. And yeah I’m excited to use it. My main reason for getting it is to be able to shoot on my property with out driving my neighbors crazy. They live a bout 100 or so yards from me. But it’ll be hosted on an AR9 and my 10.5 AR also eventually my Glock 19 and 300blk and ak but mainly Ar9. Have you seen any abnormal wear on the can from running it on a sbr in 556?
I haven’t noticed any excessive wear from the 5.56. It spends most of its time on 9mm and 300 blk though. I generally use other cans for my shorty 5.56.
The quietest can I’ve used for 300 blk is the Nomad L. It’s slightly larger than the Wolfman and is a 30 caliber bore vs the 9mm bore of the Wolfman. What Is The Quietest Dead Air Can For 300BLK? ua-cam.com/video/7Y3rILO106o/v-deo.html
Did you get the colorful packaging or the updated blacked out packaging? It seems the older colorfully packaged ones did not get the wrenches but the new ones do. It is one killer can I’ll agree 👌
Thanks Derek 👍 I just got an R9 not too long ago and haven’t had a change to shoot it. I’m glad to hear you have one and are pleased with its performance.
It does a couple things. It does act as a brake in reducing felt recoil, it also will dissipate the gasses coming out of the gun resulting in a slightly quieter “poof”.
I’ve got a thousand responses running through my head but I’ll go with the most relevant… It distracts from my ugly fave. And probably most importantly, it causes folks to ask questions and subsequently boost the algorithm 😎🤙
The Wolfman is a good choice for PCCs so your off to a good start. As far as mounting options it’s really a personal preference thing. I like tri-lug on my PCCs. It’s just simple and quick. You could do the KeyMo system if you really want a brake instead of a standard bare tri-lug.

@@MRD0889 Thanks for the advice on the naked finish! Honestly, I'm kind of excited for the color change. I'm a fan of a good patina. Lol.
Currently waiting on Dead Air to email me back and hopefully they can send me some 🤞
Sweetness!! Glad you were finally able to take it home 👌
Ya it seems to be very hit an miss for those who got the wrenches and those who didn’t 🤔
Great video. Exactly the info I was looking for with no fluff. 33 minutes of straight info!
Dude, I appreciate that Daniel! 😎👊🏻 I’m very glad you got something out of the video 👍
I love my wolf man
My first CAN and I'm so happy I went with this over silencer co hybrid 46
I run it on all my 9mm, sub gun or pistols. I run it on both my 5.56 AR's.
I've ran it on friends 300blk and his 7.62 AK.
It's an amazing suppressor =)
Awesome Mitchell! I concur, it’s a fantastic can 😎👍
What muzzle device are you using for the 5.56? Key micro?
Got the in stock notification like 3 days ago and instantly sent it. Great review. Watched it like 10 times while deciding on a can
Awesome man 👊🏻 I think you’ll love the can. I really believe it’s one of their more versatile and underrated offerings.
Thanks for the info. I have the wolf man and I like it. The reason I got it is I could use on different guns. But. But I have to get something different to run on my glock or canik pistol. That’s where your info helped me. Thanks again
Glad to help man 😎👊🏻
Certified today after a month waiting on SS to finally send it to my LGS. I'm excited to use this on my MP5 in maybe a year from now.
It’ll sound really nice in that MP5 👌🤫
Here’s to hoping it doesn’t drag on for a year… 🤞
Funny this came across my feed. Today I get to go pick up my wolfman supressor- form 4 filed on 15may2024, got approved 22july2024 on a non SS Trust. I picked up a tri lug adaptor as it will stay on my APC9 SBR
Nice dude! Sounds like a great use for the Wolfman 🐺 👌
Great review! I really enjoyed it. I own one myself, yet I sat through your entire review... Thanks!
That’s encouraging Steven! I appreciate that 👊🏻
What’s your favorite host for the Wolfman?
@@CalebDowning Currently its host is a Glock 17 Gen5 MOS. The Wolfman is in the short configuration. I love it!
Very nice 👌
Building a 9mm pcc setup as my next gun and I went to the favorite gun store today and was talking to also my favorite gun shop employee there. He highly recommended this because of the modularity. Needless to say I put my deposit down and I can’t wait for my first can. Great video and very detailed. Just have to figure out what that thing you called an e brake is.
Hard to go wrong with this can 🤙
The Ebrake works as a diffuser/ brake on the end of your suppressor.
It’s pretty close to both of of these cans but definitely out “toughs” them 💪
I just picked up my 36m last week and im very happy with it.
I like it man 😎👊🏻
Love the review order mine Sunday picked it up same week Thursday aside from the tax stamp fee that’s about as good as it gets!
Thanks man 😎👊🏻
Nice!
I didn't think my Wolfman came with wrenches. I'll definitely have to take the foam out and look for some.
Wrenches did not come with mine. Maybe they include them now. Mine is two years old. 🤷♂️
@@kurtbenedict4928 I'll have to check after work. I'm pretty sure mine didn't come with them either.
I had to go back and look too. Y’all had me thinking I got it wrong 😵💫 My older can didn’t come with any but the new one I have did come with wrenches. They also changed the box that the new one came in so I’ll be they made the switch then.
@@CalebDowning I checked and I didn't have any wrenches. I ordered my Wolfman May 2021 and received it (stamp approved) May 2022.
Did you get the colorful box like the one in the video or the plain looking one?
I must admit thats the most in depth explanation and review ive ever seen! Nice. Im interested and if I could give you cash I would right now. The 300 blk demos are so damn quiet its crazy. The 7.62x39 is on my radar. Great video brother!
Thanks man 😎👊🏻 It one beast of a can. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a thousand more times, the Wolfman is probably Dead Airs most versatile can 💪
You can run the full sized key mount flash hider with this can and it will not damage anything. This is info staring from dead air’s accessory fitment guide.
its a great can for the first time suppressor owner. good to know it suppresses an m92. i had pretty good results out of an m85.
Couldn’t agree with you more 👌
Great review and info. I opted for the jack of all trades and got the Wolfman. I also have a Harvester Evo and will get another suppressor specifically for .308 primary usage.
Thanks man 😎👊🏻
Sounds like some solid choices there. What are you looking at for the .308 can?
@@CalebDowning Still researching, am new to the suppressor world...and a bit lost on the HUNDREDS of adapters, versions, and options!
The oem full sized flash hider is compatible with the wolfman.
Yes the do 👍🏼
Caleb, enjoyed the review. Mine didn't come with wrenches and they were out if stock for so long, I had to find an alternative method to change out adapters. I'm not an engineer, but Griffin seems to have a better system for wipe use as it doesn't contact the the end cap and has more room to flex.
Hey Richard, glad you enjoyed the review 👊🏻
I just went and looked up the Griffin Armament wipe system and it does look pretty slick.
Hey Mike,
I think the Wolfman would do great for those applications 👌 It’d be a solid choice 👍
Great review. Thank you. Lots of helpful parts
Awesome 😁 I’m glad you got some stuff out of the video 💪
Great review! A lot of good info shared. Thank you!
Glad to help! Thanks for the encouragement 😎👊🏻
Waiting on the AFT to release mine. At least I get to play with all my stuff on my SOT's onsite range. It sounds fantastic.
That’s a good SOT 👌
Caleb,Amazing video man appreciate the content! My wolfman was just released to me after 347 day wait.I have a 9mm banshee that has CMMG ZEROED LINEAR COMPENSATOR on it with a 1/2 X 28 thread.if I take off the muzzle and direct thread to my barrel I should be A1 correct?I should be good but it doesn’t hurt to triple check and ask questions before I damage something.Thank you for the response in advance.
Glad you liked the video man 😎🤙
If your barrel is 1/2x28 then you’ll be good to go with a direct thread 1/2x28 mount 👌It’s gonna be sweet 🦾
@deejay2257 Ya Buddy 🦾
I’m a little jelly of that Banshee… is is really smoother shooting than other AR9s in your opinion? 🤔
It’s ironic that you had welding issues, because so did I. I had to return my wolfman to dead air for a few weeks. The technician texted me updates and told me that it looked pretty awful after putting a guide rod in it. ( I had already done the same by that point )
Got it fixed and it seems to be ok now.
Interesting, I wonder if they were part of the same batch 🤔
I had threading issues on my wolfman also. They fixed it in couple days.
Fantastic video, super helpful. Thank you
Awesome man! Glad you enjoyed the video 😁👊🏻
Mine should be coming out any day now. Can't wait. It'll be dedicated to a mpx..... for now
Most excellent 😃👊🏻
I got a batch approved for 4 cans...and I'm waiting for 6 more at this point I don't have a great organization method for all the attachments...Can you do a video on what do you use to keep track of all this attachments thank you.
First world problems man 😏 Haha… I’ll do a video on that. Here shortly for you 👍
Congrats on your batch approval! 🎉🎊 That’s like Christmas and a birthday wrapped up into one 🕺🏻
I use an el cheapo parts organizer from Harbor freight. You can find something like that usually at any hardware or auto parts supply store.
Amazing video. Still waiting on mine
Thanks man 👊🏻 hopefully you won’t be waiting for too much longer.
Probably the best video I’ve seen on suppressors in general, and especially on the Wolfman! One question I did have in particular is , and correct me if my terminology is incorrect, is timing your baffles something I should be worried about?
Well thanks man 👊🏻😎
You don’t need to worry about timing the baffles.
I didn’t notice anything wild. But you know, that’s a great question. I’ll put that down on the video list 👌
Awesome review and very in depth!
Glad you enjoyed it man 👊🏻
My Wolfman is just stupid quiet with supers and subs, gas block needs some adjusting to feed subs but on the right track, what in your opinion is the best sub ammo for the 300 blkout, thanks
Right on Sam 👊🏻
The subs that I shoot are the 200gr S&B loads and they work great for me.
Hmm, that is puzzling 🤔
Two things that come to mind. A lighter recoil spring and opening your gas port. Opening the gas port has worked for me before but it is not a taste to be taken lightly. If you do it then your obviously making a permanent change to your system. Sprinco makes a YELLOW reduced power spring that may help your system run 🤔
Great review. Enjoying my Wolfman as well. Did those wrenches come with yours? Didn't have any with mine..
Thanks Rick 👊🏻 I think the newer cans come with with the wrenches. My old can in the colorful package did not come with the wrenches but my buddy’s new black packaged one did come with them.
Mine didn’t come with the wrenches
Just got mine. Also no wrenches.
Hmm 🤔 You should get ahold of Dead Air and see what’s up with that.
very informative, thanks, i appriciate your information..
Glad to help! 😎👊🏻
Hey Jeff
Thanks for taking the time to comment on the video 👍
If you want to configure your Wolfman to run on both those firearms then you may want to look into the KeyMicro adapter and mounts.
The Wolfman should come with a 1/2x28 direct thread so you should be able to
simply direct thread to the 9KT.
@@CalebDowning Thanks Caleb. I'll check with the manufacturer about what to use for the 762x39. Thank you again for the excellent video.
Glad to help 👊🏻
Thanks man!
Why do they no longer come with the spanner wrenches? I received mine a couple weeks ago and found out they no longer include the wrenches for disassembly. In the box there is a cut out section for them.
I don’t know why they would stop putting the tools in 🤔🤷♂️
What’s name of Gun rack in background? The best review of wolf man
That gun rack is just a simple grid wall panel from Amazon.
And thanks! The Wolfman is probably the most versatile can Dead Air makes 👌
@@CalebDowning thanks
Some folks get really picky on the iron sight set ups. In general
I agree with you though 👌
Great review, very helpful
Awesome man, glad to help!
Great Video my man.. 👍👍
Thanks 😎👊🏻
Best review so far
Well thanks Walter 😎👊🏻
@@CalebDowning no problem you got a subscriber out of this one, I would love to see one on the primal I’ve been thinking about one for my 450 bushmaster AR, even tho I think the ATF purposely screwed up the process and I ended up waiting almost a year for my wolfman.

ua-cam.com/video/WuLN6UjJb48/v-deo.html
That thing does amazingly on the 45 ACP 😱
@@CalebDowning awesome thank you I’ll go watch that,
So a quick question when you use the tri lug for the wolf man is there and play after you lock it on to the lugs?
I wonder if .308 subsonic is ok?
I'm waiting on the stamp and I can take it home. I'm ready with a g19 ruger pc9 and a contender .357
Ya know, that’s an excellent question 🤔 I’ll bet they would say it’s not rated for it even if it’s subsonic. If you were reloading your own stuff and used something like Trail Boss then I think it’d be ok( I’m still not sure I’d try it though).
Thank you very much for this video
Your welcome 😁 I’m glad you enjoyed it Joe 👊🏻
Would you go wolfman or Samdman S for use on 10.5 300 blackout, 11.5 and 14.5 5.56? Which one has less back pressure?
If you are gonna be doing loads of mag dumps then go with the Sandman. But honestly I think the Wolfman would serve you better, especially on that 300BLK.
Great freaking review bro thanks
Awesome man, glad you got something out of it 😎🤙
Mine did not come with the manual or the wrenches. There is a QR code linking to an electronic manual, and I had to buy the wrenches after the fact.
Dang 🤔 I wonder if there were just certain lots that got them and others didn’t.
@@CalebDowning I think they may have changed the packaging recently. I bought mine last October and just picked it up.
Can you explain the booster more, what is the piston amd spring for or do on a pistol?
The booster allows the suppressor to momentarily separate from the barrel which helps the firearm cycle.
@@CalebDowning That makes perfect sense thank you so much.
Glad to help 👍
Wolfman was my first suppressor I've since got the nomad L, mask and ghost. I think I'm going to get 2 more Wolfman so I can leave them on the ar9 357 handi rifle and 9x39 permanently.
Great selections there 👌 That’s some dedication to get two more Wolfmans as dedicated cans. Kudos to you though 👊🏻 I’m sure they’ll be fantastic!
@@CalebDowning yeah the Wolfman just works I thought of trying other companies 9mm stuff but the versatility keeps making come back to Wolfman. I will say the primal has my interest too.
I’ve shot the Primal and it is definitely a solid can. The SolencerCo 38M seems to be a very close contender to the Wolfman, at least on paper.
Agreed 👍
I went up to 45-70 with the primal and it did very well it seems to really shine when you start using higher pressure rounds like 308,30-06, and 45-70.
I’m currently working on getting my 45 1911 up and running. Once it’s ready I’m gonna do a Primal video like my other Dead Air can reviews.
At some point I readily do plan to get a 38M.
Do they only have the 1/2×28 direct mount or do they offer a 5/8×24 direct mount t also
It will come with the 1/2x28 direct thread but there are other thread patterns available including 5/8x25.
How did you cut down your brake? What tools did you use. I need to do the same. Thanks
It was super simple. I just used a hacksaw to chop the front chamber off then I used a file to clean up the edges.
I plan on running my wolfman on my G19 Glock and my St Victor 300 blkout, what would be the best mounts on each for quick changes, thanks
I don’t know of a mount that will work on both as a quick detach. So I’d suggest getting the Key-Mo for the 300BLK and the Griffin Armament Cam-lok or EZ-Lok for the G19.
Awesome video!
Thanks!! 👊🏻
I’m curious on this next to the Mojave 9
I’d love to check out the Mojave 9, I’m not sure that can is out anywhere yet though 🤔
@ I run it in my 300blk currently. I wasn’t sure if it would work for a 308 or not. Thanks
how does the wolfman in the short configuration compare to the sandman k on an ak?
It’s gonna be better. I just released the Sandman K video last week so you could pull up both videos and hear the difference. The Wolfman in shirt is still a little larger then the Sandman K and it did sound better to me in person.
@@CalebDowning Concur. The only upshot to the Sandman K is the stellite baffles if your just doing mag dump after mag dump. @freighttrain58 The adjustable KNS piston is an excellent upgrade for any suppressed AK. My Zastava M70 shoots like a dream now that I can dial back the piston speed when running a can.
Great review
Thanks Jeff 👊🏻
Sub +1!
Excellent choice man. You won’t regret it 👍

HAAAAALLELUJAH, HAAAAALLELUJAH
HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELUUUUUUUUUJAH!
You're wearing ear pro, Holy Sht!
You get one set of ears, so it's good to see you taking care of them for a change!!
😉
Will the sandman fit the Keymicro brake/hider?
Absolutely, the Sandman series will take all the KeyMo/KeyMicro mounts 👌
Thanks
👊🏻
So I heard you mention you chopped a port off your muzzle device. I am wondering how you went about doing this.
So it’s still worth chopping those brakes down 👌
The Wolfman a pretty awesome can in my opinion.
Is there a can you prefer over the wolfman on 300 blk?
The quietest can I’ve used for 300 blk is the Nomad L. It’s slightly larger than the Wolfman and is a 30 caliber bore vs the 9mm bore of the Wolfman.

Mine did not come with wrenches. Oh well. It's a badass can though!
Did you get the colorful packaging or the updated blacked out packaging? It seems the older colorfully packaged ones did not get the wrenches but the new ones do.
It is one killer can I’ll agree 👌
I want this on a Sig canbrake so bad
It’d be nice on that for sure 😉
7.62x39= up to .311/.312 sometimes as apposed to .308. (for those who dont reload!) not meant for you Caleb!
Where can I find that 3 lug adaptor?
Man, they are out of stock everywhere 🤔 If I was you I’d sign up for some notifications at SilencerShop, AIM Surplus, and Whiskey Outpost.
Must be an updated version or the ffl short change me. I did not get the wrenches. Smh
I think it’s in the new redesigned packaging.
Cool review, I like it but my YHM R9 is sufficient 🍻.
Thanks Derek 👍
I just got an R9 not too long ago and haven’t had a change to shoot it. I’m glad to hear you have one and are pleased with its performance.
What exactly is the e brake for ?
It does a couple things. It does act as a brake in reducing felt recoil, it also will dissipate the gasses coming out of the gun resulting in a slightly quieter “poof”.
Not using the ASR threading is the deal killer :(
I hear ya 🤷♂️
i dont know how to go from long to short config its difficult to twist off :(
You may need to use the tools. Make sure you are twisting in the right direction, “righty righty, lefty loosey”
@@CalebDowning okidoki ty
@@CalebDowning I was able to do it with the wrench... ty! :)
👌 awesome!
Do you have to use the wipe??
No, you don’t have to. I used them to see how they did but I rarely use them now.
I didn’t when I first tried it. Of course I didn’t follow directions. I wondered what that was.
I see. It’s nice to be able to use the wipe but it’s more trouble than it’s worth for me. Most of the time that is 🤔
Mine didn’t come with those wrenches
Hmm, it must have been a hit and miss thing 🤷♂️ It seems like half the folks got them and half didn’t 🤔
Has anyone tried the xeno system for the Wolfman?
🤔 not I 🤷♂️
@@CalebDowning I’ve heard issues with the key micro, so I’m looking at the xeno system..
Gotcha. I haven’t had any issues with mine but let’s see if anyone else in here has had issues with theirs 🤔
Mp5K……is this it chief?!?
👍
What's up with the teenage girl room color changing lights?
I’ve got a thousand responses running through my head but I’ll go with the most relevant…
It distracts from my ugly fave. And probably most importantly, it causes folks to ask questions and subsequently boost the algorithm 😎🤙
@@CalebDowning Oh clever. I'm looking for a suppresor to put on my Uzi Pro. This is a pretty good video on the wolfman.
@bozscaggzz7475 Thanks man 🤙 The RS9 from Resilient is another really good 9mm can. Lots of options these days 👍
I definitely did not get any wrenches.
Did you have the new packaging or the same version I had in the video? 🤔
YHM N20 is better I think
That one is a very solid looking can 👌
Thats a lot of girth
😁
I want the wolfman for my mpx… but not sure what’s the best option for qd mount or easy attachment with versatility shooting suppressed or not
The Wolfman is a good choice for PCCs so your off to a good start.
As far as mounting options it’s really a personal preference thing. I like tri-lug on my PCCs. It’s just simple and quick. You could do the KeyMo system if you really want a brake instead of a standard bare tri-lug.
