  • Tetsujin - Metal Flow - Blue #2 - 210mm Gyuto - Karin Wood Handle w/ Double Black Horn & 2 Nickel Silver Spacers
Tetsujin Hamono is a collaboration project between Tora Tomura and Myojin Naohito in Tosa in Kochi prefecture Shikoku Island, Japan.
Tora-san forges an aogami 2 carbon steel and soft iron blade that Naohito-san gives a convex hamaguri grind with an elegant hazy finish on the soft iron. The carbon banding in the iron formed during forging is accentuated by Myojn Naohito's superb finish work.

I had the damn knife for so long and it’s just hard to get to everything. We don’t film all the time and there were so many knives ahead of it. We still have so many knives in a box that we haven’t even done. You have to just pick one and go with it.

Out an outstanding blade you have there. It is just rustic and classic looking. What an amazing job.

My daily driver for preps! Edge retention is insane but it takes a while to build up patina. Sadly I wanted to get the 240 but it was out of stock at the time.

If you had to chose between Tetsujin Hamono or a Hitohira Tanaka, which would you go with? Trying to wait until more Takada no Hamonos pop up for my first japanese knife but not sure I can

Tanaka is my first choice because of the history, but Nakagawa is also making some of the Takada no homono. Both are excellent choices. I need to apologize for taking so long. I've had a surgery on my knee and some other things going on. We've had the court case for my car accident. We had to deal with that as well. We've also had some other major things happening personally. Deaths in the family and lots of arrangements to be made. Also, I'll let you know that I will be having another major surgery in June and will not be making it to the Blade show. I will be out of work for two weeks because I'm having all the extra skin cut off of my body. We do apologize for an interruption of videos if it were to happen. Will try to shoot some head for you guys so we can fill the space. That being said, thank you for checking out the show. Thank you for your support and your comment.

@@nadm thanks for replying! I actually ended up getting a Y. Tanaka house brand 240 Gyuto in Shirogami #1 with damascus iron cladding and I couldn't be more happy with it. The spine is thick enough that I'm not concerned about daily use and bending it.
Good luck with your recovery and grieving process, as wonderful as your videos are family matters definitely take precedence.

Boy, that cutting board is really cut up. I hope you don't cut food on it. If you do, I suggest planing or sanding all the cuts out to prevent them from catching debris.

It gets looked after. You're right. We have some. Hi grits, diamond sandpaper at 300,000 grit that we rub on it to make it better and then put beeswax on it
