The 4K is not only a new transfer from the VistaVision negative, but they have done a frame by frame restoration. This is the best this print has ever looked.
Just watched it tonight for the first time. Wow I loved it. Completely different to what I thought it was going to be. The dancing is fantastic. The transfer is amazing. Loved Danny Kaye. Loved Rosemary Clooney. Loved everything about it. I teared up towards the end.
It’s a classic, and I think most people judge older films before they give them a shot. Especially musicals because of the cheesy ones. I’ve adopted the philosophy if it was good back then for the most part it’ll be good now. Obviously tastes have changed with pacing and humor, but I’ll take these old films any day. If it had Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye or Sinatra count me in.
White Christmas is a classic. I'm definitely interested in the 4K after your thoughtful review. Thanks for showcasing the film. Lots of snow where I live so holiday films blend in with the landscape around this time of year. Hope you have a great weekend.
@@CinemaDaveMedia Thank you for taking the time to comment. I would say I was jealous, but we should be moving to Colorado next year. Unless something major happens I’ll have snow for Christmas 2025! Not a drastic upgrade but a solid 4k that probably makes my top 10 of the year. Hope you enjoy. Interestingly enough I found you a long time ago, you were talking about Warner Archive. And oddly enough YT stopped showing those videos. The only thing I get recommend now are guys closer to my age, and yet most of what they talk about isn’t in my wheelhouse. I have a love for the films I grew up with, yet classic cinema, old black & whites, and I’m an unapologetic fan boy for Imprint Films really stoked for the I Dream of Jeannie & Bewitched releases. I’ll have check out what you’ve been up to, I suspect it’s because I didn’t used to comment only listened while driving 🤷♂️
@@80sMadeConsumer Congrats on your potential move to Colorado next year. I've been there a few times, very nice. Thanks for sharing your experience with my channel. I appreciate the support even if the algorithm didn't do me any favors. 🤣 I love the film community on YT and your channel looks right up my alley. I love older films too (Criterion, Imprint, Warner Archive) but also continue to seek out newer films and TV shows. I'm happy to be a new subscriber to your channel and looking forward to watching more of your videos. All the best to you.
Vera 😍 White Christmas really is a Christmas must watch! I will be grabbing this now thank for the review, and love that everything you like is "TOP NOTCH" 😂
It’s a great old film really enjoyable especially for this time of year! Holiday Inn is another classic staring Bing Crosby came out a few years before. The Blu-ray does include the colorized version as well as the original. The 4k only has the b&w.
I always thought singin in the rain was a stupid old musical but my god i watched it recently and its so much fun it lifts the soul 🤩 i look forward to seeing White Christmas closer to Xmas 🎁

Nice 👍 those are some great pickups! Love the UK only been there twice, in retrospect I wish I had went to the charity shops and found more Leon The professional and The Fifth Element movies! Because now trying to get every version shipping has been nuts. I think Demolition Man is my most anticipated release of the year!
