So fun fact for you Nik idk if you saw in the server, but I posted a fun fact about this song in regards to the drummer, they have a new drummer named Chason West, he also does backing vocals on this song so the “vocal layers” are actually Kyle and Chason screaming at the same time, also according to Chason he will be doing even more vocals for Brand soon.!
You mean Chason Westmoreland, deathcore drummer for hire? This man is literally everywhere - he's played for The Faceless, Oceano, filled in for Whitechapel - I didn't know he did vocals as well.
@@christopherbullock6679 Yep that Chason, he’s now been named their full time drummer, he’s done moving from band to band and is now sticking with Brand of Sacrifice. He actually does vocals and has really good cleans that you can hear in his solo project Ghost of the Universe.
Great to hear you do your Liquid Metal takeover. Hearing Jose praise you is a compliment and a half. Awesome job from a fellow Canadian on the east coast.
Kyle is quickly becoming one of the GOATs. When they were doing The Afterimage I knew he was something special, but the newest Brand stuff is just insane. He's a BEAST.
Dude I think this is their best release yet a long deserved singing to Nuclear blast as well!! It’s my birthday this weekend thank you nik for making awesome
Met him at their merch booth after their set when they opened for Erra and WCAR. No one else was at the booth, but he was super chill. So glad to see these guys doing well.
On the point of the mix, I think its definitely an artistic choice. Its definitely different, but I don't think its bad. My only complaint would be the drums being too low
The issue I'm having is that I don't hear the snare and it's pissing me off personally. The song is sick, but the lack of audible snare when it matters is killing me.
@christopherbullock6679 I think it's experimentation with a new mixing style, and they need to work out a few kinks. I doubt the rest of their upcoming stuff is gonna have the drums that far back. Hell it couldve been a choice for this song specifically to push up those electronic sounds.
@nickvaeremans5764 it's almost self explanatory, the "mix" is how the instruments and production are combined, or mixed, together. That's the most basic description I can give, I'm definitely not an audio engineer, so my knowledge is limited, but you typically want all the instruments to be audible, but not overpowering the rest of the song, and you do that by boosting or lowering those instruments in post, or by recording with mics at varying distances from amps. In the case of this song, the drums are quite low and back in the mix, making it difficult to hear in places and loses some punchiness. It's not expressly a bad mixing choice, but it's different from what you typically hear in extreme styles of metal, where the rythym and percussion is almost always king. That's why people think it's weird
@@thatguy_5240 I can see where you're coming from there. And I'm all for experimentation as an artist and producer - I'm not in a place to tell anyone how their sound should be lol. The lack of snare just drove me a bit bonkers - it's similar to people who complained about the snare sound on the St. Anger album. I want the snap, crackle, and pop in my snare. That being said, outside of that the song was my kind of heavy.
@@Rickogg94 I watch all of Nik's videos...but I don't like a lot of the music he listens to haha. I like Tool, VOLA, Chevelle, APC, 10 Years, Bad Omens, TesseracT, Wheel, Karnivool...
You're right, the mix totally has something a bit off. I feel like it's a bit too mushy. Like the guitars and drums could be a bit more refined and separate or something.
I like this too but the Doom Synth is too dominent in the sound. Like Nik was saying about the mix. In some parts I cannot even hear the chugs and then chugs are forefront in the song. I'd leave the synth in there but turn it way down as background. I was never really into true industrial anyway. My NuMetal years I would always harp that if you record your music with so much post production that it cannot be replicated live without backing tracks then it shouldn't be on the record. B-sides and remixes don't count but I wouldn't have released this like this verbatim like this.
Feel like I'm becoming old man shouting at cloud meme but that did nothing for me. (you're allowed to like what you like before you get pissed at me for my opinion) The over usage of synths (that added nothing to the song, not actually usefully implimented like mick Gordon has done in past work) the guitar tone sounded... Shit. The vocals... Idk not a fan. This bleugh thing needs to stop too. It's just corny.

Can you post the music awards please?
The answer to your title is.... yes!
you can't tell me what to do, you're not my mom
We do fun metal things here?
Producer: "How heavy do you want the track to be?"
Kyle: "Yes"
Next video: “How To Brand of Sacrifice in 30 seconds”
yes plz! haha
Who would do the vocals? I could see Dickie, Will, or Alex maybe? Would love to see this though..
he needs to discover how to make the alien noises 😂

Heavier stuff like this is so good when it’s done well. Definitely gonna be streaming this on repeat

I was thinking the mix was different and right away you said it man...almost like you could hear my thoughts. Lol
I really dig this one. I think the mix is like that on purpose to give it that DOOM synth/glitchy sort of feel, which it definitely did.
Dude I think this is their best release yet a long deserved singing to Nuclear blast as well!! It’s my birthday this weekend thank you nik for making awesome
Happy early birthday!!
I would love a metal hellsinger level with this song

Few breakdowns, need MOAR. I liked your Toad scream. Hope I helped the algorythm. Ok, bye.
The bass player is extremely talented. Great dude!
dude goes fkn insane on stage too
This year Exodus was my most listened song according to Poopafy, Purge might very well be the one for next year!
I got a selfie with kyle last spring. actually the nicest dude ever.
Met him at their merch booth after their set when they opened for Erra and WCAR. No one else was at the booth, but he was super chill. So glad to see these guys doing well.
0:13 Nik can wiggle his ears 😱
Legend has it a year later the breakdowns are still dropping
That breakdown was dope as fuck..
Which one?
Yes..
Larcinia roe pops in "only breakdown songs just only breakdowns no chorus no bridge just breakdown?" 😂
No such thing as too many breakdowns. 🤘😬🤘
me and the boys are going to go crazy with this one
I love how the dude in the video starts to throw up when the breakdown hits, so fucking good
“Blegh” can apply in more ways than one.
Got to hear this track early live a few weeks back. 🤘
don't remind me to do my homework, I'm enjoying metal right now.
We heard you like breakdowns. So we put a breakdown in your breakdowns breakdown
the imagery in that music video was sweet
These have been some laughters from honest amusement.
any plans for the awards show to hit youtube? Im not home at 2pm to watch it on twitch
I can so hear the Slayer in parts! It's great! Pummeling and Aggressive AF. Mix was really hissy.
Slayer?
@@Nick-ih5em A little, yeah. It's just my opinion. No harm meant.

"Napalm records" so Kyle how many break down do you want?
"Kyle" Yes
Listen Strangers - Surai Seraya

I think "The best showmen/women of the year" would be a cool new nomination for the next years Nik Nocturnal's metal awards.
They came back so insane
its like fucking inception except instead of dreams there are breakdowns
At the first watching i thought: "Is it you, Xerxes?!!"
sounded like he was screaming beef a few times
Sleep Tokin had a full sweep at the Nik boi metal show.

how many breakdowns? yes..
DoomGuycore. I love this!
Mix is unusual, but very cool
Loves from Brazil man
Please...liste to Synestia-the poetic edda, deathcore song of the year so far 🙏🏻
Really like this one but yeah the mix...
Killer song. I feel like Brand of Sacrifice mixes are always a little weird
You're right, the mix totally has something a bit off. I feel like it's a bit too mushy. Like the guitars and drums could be a bit more refined and separate or something.
its intresting you can hear the bass guitar but there is litterally no bass in the song
Brand of sacrifice ahould make the next Doom soundtrack
The song is sick but I feel like the kick and snare is almost nonexistent.
This is a realy good live band make sure to check them our live
My boi nik
They have a rhythm guitarist now?
the mix is weird for sure...wanted more guitar sound^^
how many new members?
Award show on UA-cam when? 😅
Yes
I love BoS, but yeah sometimes their mixing is… not what I’d personally like
The mix *is* off. The guitars sounds muted and soft. It's weird.
Snarl
thats sick asf, i highkey hear a lot of Slaughter influence. A lot of the vocal choices in like intonation n shit plus the chorus just feels very STP.
I just wish the mix was better because the song thumps
Yea the mix doesn’t hit on this one for me. Something’s weird about it. Another great song tho!

Interesting mix. Not a fan but the mix reminds me of earrrrly Born of Osiris or The Faceless.
I fking love to say every word along with nik when he starts saying on 82% of us aren't subscribed.
Song is great but the mix is just not it. Guitars have like no punch and the drums aren’t much better.
im here early wtf
Honestly? The song felt a bit too flat, a bit boring.
And the mix is weird, it's like there's too much mid-highs, and too few lows.
Feel like I'm becoming old man shouting at cloud meme but that did nothing for me.
(you're allowed to like what you like before you get pissed at me for my opinion)

The mix is god awful... The guitars are buried, the synths are too loud and drown everything else out...
huge L
Nik like this comment for Lorna Shore. 1 like=1 Lorna Shore
Kyle is beast but this band is extremely overrated and overproduced.
No.
I didn't like this song at all :(
If I could understand any of this it might be cool kinds boring really.
.😮where's the real instrumental music hmmmmmm..
Breakdowns until there are no BPM/braincells left.
