- After less than 2 months I got rid of the F-250 and bought a different truck that will be my work truck AND my daily driver.
I've been looking for a heavy duty truck for a while and came across an older F-250 with low mileage and tasteful upgrades. I thought it would be perfect, but as it turned out, I hated driving it. The ride was rough and it was too noisy.
After some research, I settled in on the Nissan Titan XD, a heavier duty version of the Nissan Titan full size truck. This Titan XD has a 5.6L Gas V8 engine and 4 wheel drive. I also got rid of my 2016 Nissan Frontier, which has been a great truck, but its just too small for much of the kind of work I want to do.
Looks like a great new truck! You're right that it's unique - I don't see lots of those on the roads around here (like I do with the F150s). I was worried when we saw you got that 2005 6.0 Super Duty. We have done several videos of the problems we had with our 2005 and why we traded it on our new gas truck. Even though yours was "bulletproofed", we wondered how you would like it. Thanks for the update!
Thanks Chad. that F250 was a beast and I think all the upgrades were done right and it'll be a helluva workhorse for many years to come. Just not right for me. Thanks for watching
there is nothing wrong with the 6.0 we have several in our excavation fleet now the 6.4 we had was another story, but nothing beats the ram cummins that engine is the diesel durability king!
Good lookin new truck.
I think so too!
I love my 2018 Chevy Alaskan.
Still rockin my 2004 titan ....still looks nice to me.
I have read they have reliability issues with Titans! Frontier is great though!
I think there are more issues with diesel titans than gas.
Was there a reason you didn’t consider a Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500? Around town my Ram 3500 gets 17-19mpg. The newer diesel engines are much quieter than previous years. Tim in northern TN
I looked at a couple ram2500, including one with 8ft bed. Ultimately came down to price. Unless I got something with like 130k miles everything was significantly more money than this truck.
Nice looking truck and should be a dependable as your Frontier. Terry
Thanks
Hope it treats you good nice looking truck
Life is short. You may as well enjoy driving what you get..
It looks to me like you found the nice medium between the Nissan Frontier and the F250..
I agree. thanks for watching
Woot! I love your Titan! Looks good. Sorry the 250 didn’t work out, but the new one looks great!
Thanks 👍. Got a truck strong enough to haul the tractor up to the cabin now if you ever want to do any improvements let me know! 💪
Nice truck. I’ve had a 2012 F150 4x4 with an 8ft bed since new. Having an 8ft bed I don’t know I could ever go back to 6.5ft. No matter what the specs say, in my opinion a truck smaller than an F250 shouldn’t be towing 10k lbs. The base truck isn’t heavy enough for good stability because a half ton pickup only weighs half that. It’s a “tail wags the dog” phenomenon. Volume of units eventually translates to availability of aftermarket parts and service knowledge if you plan to keep it long enough.
Is your truck crew cab? I didn't think 8ft bed crew cab was an option on f150. I know it is on 250 and ram 2500. I looked at a couple of those.
@@FlatCreekOutdoors Mine is a regular cab. They don’t do crew cab with 8ft but you can get a super cab that way. It’s a long and ungainly truck though. I’ve driven an F350 crew cab with 8ft bed, and it’s kinda a pain for maneuvering and parking. I ordered my F150 the same day as I had my first date with my now wife, so a regular cab was all I needed at the time. Now that we have 2 (going on 3) kids, it’s not a family hauler, but it’s great for the chores it does.
Looks like a nice ride Phil, congrats. 👍👍
Thanks 👍 liking it so far!
I am looking to buy a 2012 Titan with 122,xxx miles on it. After doing research, I've read these trucks are underrated and If taken care of can last over 300k - 500k miles
Can't say I've seen any for sale with that high of mileage but seen lots with 150k-200.
@@FlatCreekOutdoors if Titan owners are getting that many miles and still running strong with reg maintenance, don't think they would sell or trade it in.
