just updated my WLAN MS2 and they have updated the website and fixed the English and there is step by step assistance and it all worked seamlessly. I love your channel and because of you it made this instruction really easy. Thank you

Hi John, Good to hear - it made a little difficult for non-German speaking to figure out, so this is great news. Enjoy ;-) Bo

The file says bin by Märklin and this are serious not working fine with the Mac computer. However i do not like software in the MS2 WLAN because it is same like in standard MS2. Märklin must change the way of to use MS2 to better control of the value when you need to change without to avoid other products on the layout too. If there are two locomotives on the track or two m83 connect and you start program one locomotive you will also change value in other products. That are terrible and nightmare by use MS2!!

      Hi Anders,
Surprised this does not work with a Mac - not sure why?
Indeed the MS2 and MS WLAN are the same - only difference is that one is wireless and the other is not. As for the programming the Mobile Station 2 has limited capabilities and only supports limited programming of MFX locomotives (Acc, Dec, Vol, etc) while other devices are on the track (often called Programming On Main - POM).
Using the MS2 I always disconnect the MS2 from the layout and connect it to a short track with only one device for programming to ensure that programming only affects one decoder. Only exception is MFX locomotives where you can alter the Acc, Dec, Vol, VMax, etc directly from the MS2 menu.
Another issue is that Programming On Main (POM) must also be supported by by the decoder - otherwise it does not work. Hence, even if the MS2 did support POM you could have many issues especially for accessories. The more capable Central Station 3 (CS3) supports both a separate programming track and Programming On Main. Even with the CS3 you have challenges when the locomotive or accessory decoder does not support it, but you have a separate programming track to handle these cases. For MFX locomotives/accessories POM works, while for some locomotives with POM supported DCC decoders it mostly works.
To me it would be nice if the MS2 supported more MFX programming, but suspect that the reason Märklin have chosen not to is: it is difficult to do advanced programming with the small display of the MS2. Then again - maybe some day?
      Enjoy ;-) Bo
