So I used a Papertess B6 for part of 2023 as well as a CP for part of 2023 - and I WILL say the Papertess gives.. in my humble opinion... TONS of flexibility. I got the weekly horizontal for an 'overview, enough pages for 'one page per day' where I could also include a vertical timeline if I wanted either for each day or set up a whole additional weekly spread in the 7 blank pages per week, and the extra note pages after the month layout I love as well. If I COULD stay in a dated planner for longer than a few months, I would be in the Papertess. But I borrowed a LOT of the Papertess layout as inspiration for my current and future bullet journals. I love having a horizontal overview, the OPTION to do a vertical timeline, and the extra notes pages after the monthly.
This is so very true about Papertess!!! It’s the best version of a structured stalogy. It has enough freedom to play with the 7 pages but also enough structure where I don’t have to draw everything in all the time. I’m selling my common planner. I definitely have planner peace for 2024. I got the weeks and the B6
Thanks for the video. This is the reason I designed a leather cover to fit those two planners specifically…the mismatched overhang drives me nuts lol. The books are too thick for those covers, hence the overhang. ❤
Hi 🙋🏻 thanks for your video. I am getting my papertess planner today and am very excited to us it in the new year. Look forward to seeing your content on it 👍🏻🎉
I also ordered the sage Papertess. I already had a notebook in sand. I love the freedom of it while also keeping me on track. I’m excited to get it. I don’t miss the edges being gold because I don’t even pay attention to that after awhile. I got a Galen undyed slim cover for it. It claims to fit 296mm and papertess is 274mm. But yes, you can’t use a stalogy cover unless it’s roomy. I don’t really sticker it up too much, so it should be okay. Leather stretches so I’ll have to work it a bit at first. I also found a video that helps with the fit. Love this video! I was wondering how the sage would look with natural color cover. Very nice.
Thanks so much for the kudos! Sage is just such a unique color and the shade is gorgeous. I was looking at the Galen zip but I haven’t looked carefully enough at the specs. I’m going to check that out. Would it be a bad idea to go cover less?
@@sujeyplans7720 I think sage is better than sand to go coverless. Honestly this is the first year I’ve bought leather. I used clear covers, one hobonichi cover and a paperbound creations one. I treated myself with this planner (papertess) all the way around. I wanted it last year but it was sold out. That being said, I kept a take a note planner cover free for about 6 months until I got the hobonichi cover, and it now houses a Sterling ink 500 pg notebook. A5 isn’t the best size for me though. Too much room, not enough to write/plan. lol. Do what you feel comfortable with. If the Galen doesn’t fit, I’ll use a clear and put a stalogy in the leather. It all gets too expensive to keep trying to figure out perfection. Good luck to finding a great solution for yourself. Cover or not, enjoy the planner!!!!
I just wanted to chime in and say that I've used a B6 Common Planner, full year, all of 2023 and the only leather cover that has truly been a great fit for the behemoth of a notebook is the Gillio B6 Appunto. I know they're pricey, but getting a pre-loved is always a good option. For 2024 I have the problem of finding a good cover for the Standard size that I'm switching in to. To start I'll be using my old-school Chic Sparrow leather covers, that are big and roomy (I'll take out the strings), but I would love a folio style that is big enough and has some pockets as well. I'll be on the hunt!
That’s really good to know! If it’s a size I end up wanting to take up permanently it would be a worthwhile investment. I have an Eternal Leather Goods Cover for my TN notebook that I like. It fits the full size really well. But using what you already have is a smart move!
I love your channel-content, delivery and planner aesthetic. Although I love the A6 size, I’ll be using 2 new sizes for 2024 - Hobonichi Weeks and B6. (I bought the Wonderland 222 after one of your videos.) AND yes--I like the black planner with black cover looks great!
Thank you for those kudos! It helps motivate me to continue sharing. Oh I hope you enjoy the 222. Which size did you go with? Thanks for chiming in on covers. Im gravitating towards that combo as well 🖤
@@sujeyplans7720 I purchased the Wonderland 222 in B6 for my health and wellness plans/tracker/goals. I’m putting it in a Planner Perfect TN cover, with a couple blank TN inserts for journaling. Not sure how the TN “strings” will work out, but the rose gold leather cover is beautiful, especially since I usually stick to a neutral palette.
I like the Sterling Ink in the Handstitchedleathert TAN cover more than the black. I think I like the contrast in color. Thanks for making a video on B6 alone because it's a struggle for me to buy covers for each specific planenr when each year I switch it up.
It’s not in my immediate content plans but less roomy covers will fit best although because it’s not the Japanese B6 doing conventions most covers are still too big.
Thank you for this video! Very helpful! I should get my paperless book tomorrow! Is your Moterm a b6 + or the regular b6 cover? I wonder if that would help with the chunk? New subscriber ❤️
So glad to hear and thank you for the support 🙏🏽 It was a b6+ according to the Amazon description 🤔 but now I’m starting to question that. It should have fit better right?! I’m thinking of picking up a cover from the official Moterm store and seeing what happens.
Good question! There are two types one is the Japanese version the other a Tawainese or ISO that is slightly smaller. Both of these B6 sizes are smaller than an A5 but larger than an A6 size page. It’s a nice sweet spot at about 5x7.
Honestly, if I could have the font and aesthetic of Paper Tess Designs with the organization and layout of Sterling Ink, that would be PERFECT for me. lol. It's hard to beat the aesthetic of the PTD one but the SI one is just absolutely perfect for me.

Those features are so unique in a B6 planner! It’s truly special! Exactly why I couldn’t resist 😂

I am completely devastated by the lack of foil edges.
