A great comparison of the three pedals! I'm a big fan of EHX pedals and this certainly helped me. I have to agree with a comment left ages ago by someone else, as I was most impressed by the Glove until the gain knobs were cranked at the end and Hot Tubes was sizzling. Great tones from all three pedals though.

A bit late, I play hot tubes with a bass and a sansamp bddi, sounds bitchin'!

I’ve had this one for some time and finally replaced it with the Hot Wax. Depends on a guitar, but with really “thick” pickups this pedal gives too much low frequencies. Hot Tubes in Hot Wax is an improvement

How do you reccomend this pedal with a transistor amp?

I thought the glove sounded the best up until you dimed the gains and then the hot tubes really worked wonders.

I disagree. The Hot Tubes sounded gritty at all gain settings while OD Glove was nice and smooth.

gotta say I love that gritty sound, I know own a Hot Tubes and keep the overdrive dimed all the time

Very good comparison!!. I'm not saying one better than others, they just 3 different pedals with all sound good. Just depend what you need now. Thanks to you to make it clear which one to choose.

Interesting pedal but without hearing the clean before each example I dont know how much is the amp or PUs to begin with.

does that version of Hot Tubes pedal have two actual tubes inside like the original and the other re-issue?

The reissue sounds quite a bit different than the original, and not in a good way.

1:06 - This sounds really close to Joe Walsh's tone in James Gang's Funk 49. Great sound!

JJ Dude I think you mite misunderstand... More gain is fine when its not a Muddy mess!! I hope this pedal sound better than you've shown here...

Nice review and Sufragette City that's really great. Exactly what is appropriate for this pedal.
