The without losing the seriousness of the topic is sooooo important. Because the way she does it she never makes fun of the victims, and while that seems like a standard, not everyone stays respectful.

19:46 I’m a Visalia native and there was a Psychology Professor from the local college that was murdered by the Visalia ransacker. From what I know of from just articles and reports, the Professor’s daughter was attacked in the middle of the night and he had woken up and shielded his daughter but ended up dying later in the hospital. His daughter would have been the first victim of the golden state killer if her father didn’t sacrifice himself. RIP Professor Claude Snelling 🤍
Rip. My heart goes out to Mr. Snelling, what he did was beautiful and I will never forget him now. It's unfortunate that his life was cut short, but hopefully his memory lives on in his daughter and her offspring. This story reminds me that there is still true good in the world. He really thought he was going to be cut down, and inevitably did succumb to injury, but he was able to save and protect his daughter ❤🫂

I'm always excited to see Kris's true crime videos, she's so good at balancing information, humor, and sympathy all at the same time and not enough true crime does that
Im so glad you covered the Golden State Killer. He's probably what really got me into true crime because it's insane how he first started with burglary and grew to murder. He taunted his victims even in local meetings the towns had when they were frustrated with this masked man. The amount of victims he claimed for both -drape- and mvrder is insane. I'm also so amazed with how much DNA in the crime world itself has evolved, and so many cold cases are now being solved due to past forensic evidence. I truly believe this killer could've gotten a whole 1 hour episode because this man had no limits, but I'm so grateful you covered this horrible guy's atrocious crimes and undoings
The Golden State Killer was my neighbor! His granddaughter and my sister were friends! My dad (a probation officer in Sacramento) knew Joe and our neighbors that lived between our house and Joe's House were all familiar with Joe's.... off-ness. I remember that he kept his house rather dark and when we would play in the house and got too noisy, he'd shoo us elsewhere with a bit of a sneer, but he never actually threatened us. He even made us Spaghetti-O's for lunch when we were there during the day. He kept mostly to himself, but occasionally, he would chat with my dad and our before mentioned neighbors about lawn care, recipes, and old law enforcement stories. The neighborhood knew him as "Crazy Joe" because he'd talk to himself and sound like he was arguing with someone. We kids mostly hung around his granddaughter, and eventually, we moved from the neighborhood for other reasons. My dad would eventually move back to that same neighborhood years later, but in another part and those same neighbors were still living next to Crazy Joe. Turns out, hours before his arrest, they had been talking about a recipe. When Joe was arrested, he told the officers, as they cuffed him, "I have a roast in the oven." To which the officers replied, "We'll make sure to take it out." I remember the phone call my dad made to us kids when he told us that Crazy Joe was the Golden State Killer. It was mind-blowing but also made a lot of sense? It's funny how the only thing he truly treasured, besides his roast, was his family, and it was his family's DNA that brought to light his crimes. I remember we all tuned into the sentencing, and it just felt all too surreal. I pray for the families he impacted, and I'm so glad justice was rightfully served. He deserves every bit of time that he wastes away. I hope his family is okay, too. That can't be an easy thing to come to terms with. I just wanted to share my experience with this, but it's also kinda weird... cause my mom used to live 5 doors down from the Manson House in LA as well, and I find the coincidence just a little off-putting. God, I hope this doesn't run in the family, but you never know who your neighbors are. One day, you're swapping roast recipes and tips on how to trim roses, and the next, they're being cuffed for murder.
That's actually crazy that you knew him personally. I'm glad he didn't hurt you or your sister while you were friends with his granddaughter. I, too, pray for the families that he brought such anguish to, and hope that they finally find peace now that he's gone for good.
My moms baby sister was brutally murdered in 1986 in Trenton Michigan right before her 17th birthday. Today is the anniversary of her death, Rose Marie Zoldos. Which is absolutely insane because you hear of some eye witnesses saying they see a man in full black creeping around in their yard and never call the police or alert anybody. I know it was different times but the amount of unlocked and just wide open doors and windows is insane to us today. Some of the most creepy details were him feeding dogs with treats over time so they would get used to him and not alert, and using empty cans (much like the plates) put behind doors so they would alert with sound if anyone disturbed him during a crime

California native here. It was Michelle McNamara, a true crime author and previous wife of comedian Patton Oswald, who essentially solved the Golden State Killer case. Unfortunately she passed away before he was caught and justice was served.
Good to know!! I didn't see that in any of my research! I do my very best to get all the facts right, but it's hard to get EVERY piece of info that's available, especially if it wasn't covered as much, which sadly it wasn't, but that's an interesting tidbit. Looking into it further now, she clearly didn't "solve" the case, but she absolutely kept it alive and had some very compelling theories that matched who the killer was. At the end of the day it was DNA that put him behind bars, but I definitely think her research was notable for the case and played a big role. Always love hearing more info! Thanks!
There is a 6 part documentary about her work on it called ill be gone in the dark and she actually died not long after from a heart condition but doc is well done.
He was my next door neighbor growing up. It was literally us, him, and then an FBI agent lol. Molly ringwald also lived in our neighborhood. I stg I’m not lying, my uncle was even interviewed on the news! But yeah the dude is a FREAKAZOID. Always was. Stayed screaming at his kids, bitching at his neighbors, trimmed his lawn with scissors… the dude was nuts.
Michelle McNamara didn't solve the case, but she did shed a lot of public interest in the case. Many people in law enforcement solved the case. Arguably, the forensic tech from Ventura county who always doubled up on his collected samples is the real hero. VC had a pristine DNA sample just sitting in a freezer which allowed the genetic genealogy testing that led them to JJD.
This is an order to: 1. Get kris to 12M subs 2. SOMEONE GET THIS GAL A TV SHOW 3. Like the comment if you have been here since the start of Kris's channel/tiktok
I knew about Kris for years but recently discovered her True Crime stuff. This is legit one of the best series I’ve ever watched. I hope she continues doing these because she’s incredible at it.
My grandma was a cop on the Bear Brooks case. She always has a story to tell, and it's so cool my favourite creator is covering this case! Amazing video!
The genealogy thing to find criminals is so cool. My neighbor, who is a state detective, told me a story of how he helped find the second killer of a case that was open for a long time.
my mom caught me watching this and i had to try my best to explain that i just find it interesting. I am really interested in the minds of serial killers and murderers and am thinking about studying criminal psychology but i might get in trouble.
I think it's generally normal to be interested by these things- there's a reason true crime podcasts are so popular- but i'm assuming you're really young, somewhere between 8-15 (dont say your actual age for security reasons) and your mum might just be trying to protect your innocence. Anyway, it would be awesome if you did get into forensics or criminal psychology because there are a lot of unsolved crimes out there that are just waiting to be solved by the fresh eyes of the next generation of detectives. Just don't forget to look for other options too
Nah I wanted to read this book called a good girls guide to murder (it’s not actually nothing bad just fiction) and my grandma thought I was trying to murder people 💀
It's fascinating for people to understand how criminal minds work because it helps them anticipate and prepare for potential threats, enhancing their ability to protect themselves in similar situations. This instinctive curiosity is part of our evolutionary heritage, which historically helped us survive by understanding and outmaneuvering potential dangers.
I think it's normally people who AREN'T people who would do such things because they can't seem to understand why someone would do this and watching this feels like getting close to solving a horrific crime.
Serial killers often choose locations and times where they are unlikely to be seen. Crimes committed in remote or private areas leave little evidence and few, if any, witnesses.
i love that you kinda tell us the word you censor. usually in the context its kinda easy to guess but not having to guess makes it so much easier to keep following along
@KallMeKris - you really really need a TV show! Man, I’ve been listening to many YT’ers and nobody can bring the stories the way you do! Thanks for your time!! ❤
Since the 2nd barrel was found in a similar state to the one is 1988 but was found in 2000 that might mean the 2nd pair of girls were murdered later which is why they didn't find the 2nd murder 7:25
Super scary that there are people like this out in the world. My golden state killer lived 6 houses down from my mother’s house when he was arrested. He lived there for years. And I had even talked to him a handful of times in passing. Not many words just casual hellos and how are yous. Gives me chills to think about. Very entertaining video!
I get that feeling. I used to live about 3 blocks from a serial r*pist/k*ller. Mark Goudeau is known as the Baseline r*pist. Later changed to Baseline k*ller. The part that pissed a lot of people in the neighborhood off was the fact that many of us had called the cops to let them know where he could be found. But they wouldn’t listen because he hadn’t targeted the area. As if it wasn’t possible that he may not live in the areas he hit. Even though one of his first victims was graped about 1.5 miles away.
7:33 🤯of course and MOST LIKELY, the other barrels could have been placed there a few weeks or months after the investigation and/or search of that area ended! How can she not think of that and be surprised?!! Jesus! 😂
Personally believe that the Zodiac Killer was also a police officer. You've covered it extremely well before. I really believe his grandson is right. Really enjoying your storytelling, Kris. ❤
I live right near Bear Brook and have been fascinated by this story for awhile now! A lot of us locals believe that forest is now haunted by the four souls lost.
I live in Ventura and I had absolutely no idea that the Golden State Killer killed so close. I work literally half a mile away from that couples house. It really put it in perspective just how evil he is. Thank you Kris.
I lived in Wichita, KS while BTK was in hiding. I was, y’know, four years old at the time and knew nothing about it until a decade later, but I think it’s interesting. My parents were aware of BTK before moving us there, they are born and bred Kansas natives, and said the city was still on edge even when he was finally caught in 2005.
I grew up in north wichita, less than 5 minutes from his home. We used to go to Jardine Memorial park which was less than a block from his home for my birthdays growing up. I was 5 when he was arrested but my mom says it’s was absolutely terrifying that we had been so close to his home so many times.
Park city population is 8,000+. You would have a 1 in 800 chance of being a victim to btk. He was convicted of 10 murders. Which isnt as substantial. People just want to try to enjoy their lives... you cant let yourself live in a fearful haze. Keep guns. Have creaky floors. Good solid doors and strong locks. Tight fitting windows... keep track of family members and stay together.
20:55 it’s just so unfair that he got to live a whole life hiding the secret, Marry, kids grandkids, etc..I feel so sorry for his family to live all that time with such a monster. I’d have to reconcile with the fact that they loved him for all those years.
Even scarier is the fact that someone is sure married to a monster right now and she will find out about it 30 years down the line... Men are such a ick. I don't get straight women.
It’s so uncomfortable to see this little old man getting sentenced for life. It’s almost hard to even believe. I can’t imagine how his family or acquaintances must’ve felt. Oh my god this is so sickening.
I love watching and listening to these especially from Kris because she has humour the most serious topics ever and you can't keep a straight face half the time we love kris❤
I think credit needs to be given to Michelle McNamara who was dedicated to finding the Golden State Killer and was able to figure it out before her passing in April 2016, thus helping investigators close the case.
if you want to look into the Brittney Driscol murder, there have been some very recent developments, she's from my hometown and I love that someone is finally being put to justice in her case!
Thank you for never hiding how u feel about these monsters. Sometimes I wish true crime content creator would show us how angry they are but they are usually objective.
My mother and her family lived in the area when this was happening(The Golden State Killer) my grandmother was so terrified because she was single and there was an assault 4 blocks away from where they lived.
I love watching Kris’s serial killer videos it’s so interesting and she makes it humorous at times and still keeps it professionally serious I feel she would make a good cop honestly!
This channel just showed up in my feed and I have been in love with this channel, Kris, and the crime. She is the best I have ever heard when it comes to crime drama. I have listened to many crime podcasts but Kris is on a much higher level. Love the humor, camera angles, voices, and more. It's true. It doesn't matter if she's saying I'm looking gorgeous today or saying I'm a "sick minded, beautiful intellectual freak" it makes me smile ear to ear
The way she smiles when the police do well and catch the criminal and almost cries when talking abt the victims completely warms my heart❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ we love you kris
usually im not into listening to murder cases bcs they will put those weird background music to make it ~uuu creepy~ and mix up all the story together. but kris talks about everything, use humor to lighten up the vibe, and is making the victims more known, curse out the fuckass criminals and I love it. thanks to you, now I have videos to watch while studying or cleaning. Thanks Kris, love u💖 and ur content😚✨
I have so enjoyed the true crime deep dives because I feel Kris gives the information the room to breathe without making it cringe. Also, the two camera angles are one of my favorite staples. Are there uncensored versions of these? I like to listen to them while I'm working on other projects, and the cuts of audio make me worried that the video stopped.

I have to say, the way you tell these stories is brilliant . 👏 I get chills throughout the whole thing, and that doesn't happen with the actual true crime channels I watch. Your delivery is *chefs kiss*
Kris’s ability to blend chilling facts with just the right amount of humor keeps the content engaging without losing the seriousness of the topic.
And I like that I’m not too spooked
Yes that part because as I was watching and feeling ugh , she'll do something humorous and bring my emotions from breaking down.

I LOVE YOUR PFP AND USERNAME BRO 😆
@@kallmekris you are the best ❤❤❤❤
27:18 didn’t know Riley was here-
This is an order to:
1. Get kris to 12M subs
2. SOMEONE GET THIS GAL A TV SHOW
3. Like the comment if you have been here since the start of Kris's channel/tiktok
Me!!
Agreed
OMG KRIS LIKED MY COMMENT IM ACTUALLY CRYING IN HAPPINESS 😅😅😅
And a true crime podcast so I can listen to it at school
I knew about Kris for years but recently discovered her True Crime stuff. This is legit one of the best series I’ve ever watched. I hope she continues doing these because she’s incredible at it.
Kris, I love watching your crime deep dives. The one with the 411 disappearances was soo good too. Please do more of the creepy/scary ones
My grandma was a cop on the Bear Brooks case. She always has a story to tell, and it's so cool my favourite creator is covering this case! Amazing video!
Personally I think Kris should start a crime podcast because I find it really nice being able to do stuff while listening to this
Fr or she could make a whole playlist full of millions and millions of these and I’ll watch every single one of them
Fr! I'm eating while listening and it's really entertaining, makes me want to the take the time to make food so I can listen
@@OR4NG3_S0D4 She does have a playlist on her channel including most if her true crime videos so far!

How old are you?
Serial killers often choose locations and times where they are unlikely to be seen. Crimes committed in remote or private areas leave little evidence and few, if any, witnesses.
No shit
i love that you kinda tell us the word you censor. usually in the context its kinda easy to guess but not having to guess makes it so much easier to keep following along
@KallMeKris - you really really need a TV show! Man, I’ve been listening to many YT’ers and nobody can bring the stories the way you do! Thanks for your time!! ❤
Agreed! Thank you Kris! ❤
Yes, you need a TV show!

On a more serious note, I love how much research and care you put into making your videos Kris. Keep up the great work!
They cuaght him but he’s dead I live in pembrooke he’s the chameleon killer
Your delivery with the added humor makes these stories very compelling. You're a pro who needs to become a professional presenter.

Kris, you truly can pull off ANY hairstyle but a redhead/ginger really suits you❤(love your videos)
These are definitely my favorite videos on this channel! Excited to watch.

KMK's spectrum of topics and what she stream is very broad.
And shes like born to stream doing lots of tricks.
I really like watching her.
I love the introduction when you struggle to cross your arms lol, that's something i would defenetely do
I love watching and listening to these especially from Kris because she has humour the most serious topics ever and you can't keep a straight face half the time we love kris❤

Bro KMK needs her own true crime podcast I would actually sit down and listen to that.
I absolutely love every time you look at the camera on your side just to insult the killers 🤣

She could start a third channel just on crime drama alone and gain millions of subscribers quickly. Recommend this channel to people I know.

usually im not into listening to murder cases bcs they will put those weird background music to make it ~uuu creepy~ and mix up all the story together. but kris talks about everything, use humor to lighten up the vibe, and is making the victims more known, curse out the fuckass criminals and I love it. thanks to you, now I have videos to watch while studying or cleaning. Thanks Kris, love u💖 and ur content😚✨
My favourite type of Kris kontent- ugh, content, dammit Kris 😂
I have so enjoyed the true crime deep dives because I feel Kris gives the information the room to breathe without making it cringe. Also, the two camera angles are one of my favorite staples.
Are there uncensored versions of these? I like to listen to them while I'm working on other projects, and the cuts of audio make me worried that the video stopped.
I love listening to Kris talk about serial killers, she blends the topic of serious crime and humor so well
The way kris still makes me laugh whilst she is talking about serial killers is insane
