Excellent info! We were just scammed 2 weeks ago by an imposter that posed as a carrier, booked the load and then sold it to another carrier as a broker. It was EXACTLY what you said! He asked for 1/2 upfront or else he wasn't going to deliver. LSS, We lost nearly a $1k... sucks!
Excellent information. Me being a natural skeptic, most likely I wouldn't send a fuel advance anyway. As a previous owner operator, I can't imagine asking anyone for fuel money before starting a job. Your video just confirmed it even more. Thanks for always putting out amazing content.
I am now applying for broker in the logistics industry. I am researching. I love your videos. I am so excited to get into the logistics industry. Thank you for your videos. I am gaining an edge. Much love.
This is useful information. It is helpful to be able to look out for what could potentially be an easy Act. Thank you for take the time to provide this information
This is very valuable information. PRICELESS. These pitfalls are the same as the short term rental market. Our company requires clients to legally identify. acknowledge and comply with our agreements.. It is up to us to dot and cross the Ts. I am excited to exit short term rentals and get into logistics. I thank you for contributing to my future success. Go go gadget logistics.
Don't think you're out of the clear if they don't ask for a fuel advance! I've seen "carriers" move loads, get paid, then disappear! You find out months later they actually paid another carrier a fantastic rate to move the load. By the end you've paid a scammer and a carrier.
they did to me but they rebooked the load for $1500 more to another carrier, they asked to that carrier for bol to get it and send it to me to asked for fuel avance, thanks God I called shipper and all info about the carrier that picked up the load was a different carrier, I called that driver and we solved the problem
Shippers are our first line of defense. As long as we get the name of the carrier from the door sign that’s always the first step to solving the problem fast. Glad it got solved.
you didnt talk about the guys that call you book a load and then post the load for others to bid on. once they have a truck they will do the load and keep you in the blind the whole way. their aim is to keep the truck doing the load for about 400 less than you were doing so they can pocket that money. one way to stay ahead of this is make sure every shipper verifies the carrier that is coming in to pick up the load. if it is not who you booked, it is a double broker situation.
