Hi Katie! I just love your makeovers. You explain things simply, use tools that most of us have, without building an entire woodworking shop. Tables are lovely.
Yes. I do appreciate that she doesn't have all of the expensive wood shop tools that a lot of others have. I giggle when they bust out the wood planer, table saws, expensive jigs, routers, and tons of "extra" wood. They are interesting to watch but I understand that I could never afford to have a wood shop.

I used one of those drill brushes to clean the brick of my fireplace. It felt like I was brushing my house’s teeth 😂

I can’t believe it! I’m not a fan of blue, country decor, or faux finishes. BUT, gosh these turned out really pretty. 🤭 You do such an impeccable job remaking things that they look really high quality.

I really like the way that you explain each step and that you treat the undersides and drawer insides as nicely as you do the visible surfaces. Everything gets primer and enough coats at each step to keep the piece looking good for a very long time. I love the way they turned out. Perfect for a beach cottage.

Wow! I’ve had that retique product in my cart for 2 years but the only videos on how to use it are from the manufacturer that i could find. I’ve never been a fan of the graining tools but you may have changed my mind. What a difference the extra coats of gel stain made in toning it down. I think this is the first time I’ve seen you use it but the container wasn’t new! Thanks for the new inspo!
I tell you what… you got that wood grain step down pat. It looks so real n awesome. I thought the whole set looked good with the white but I must admit that blue is a very pretty color n I liked the whole set now. Katie you just keep amazing me with your gifted talent of redoing furniture.

I’ve got to tell you, that between you and Angie at Transend Furniture, you’ve inspired me to grab unloved and abused pieces and redo them to replace what we had that were destroyed by the 37 rescue cats we took in over 20 years ago now - 6 left.

Also, I use a driver and the scrub brushes to clean my bathroom tub. My tub is much clearer than anyone can do by hand and it only takes a fraction of the time. 🛀 At 61 I work smarter, not harder.🌺😀

Those turned out amazing! I LOVE that shade of blue.
Love it …as usual! Try playing with the order next time. Try using the wood grain tool on the third coat of the wood paint then use a regular wood stain on top of that as you normally would. You get a different effect…a little more muted wood grain. Fun product!
Wow the tables were a fabulous score with so much potential (which you maximized with your mad salvage skills!!). I’m in the process of following one of your earlier videos and will use the Behr Cabinet paint. I sure wish I had a sprayer and am a bit nervous about how the finish will look using rollers and brushes but I’ll crack on and if it’s a disaster I can always sand it and try again. Patience and persistence, right? Thanks for sharing this transformation Katie. Looking forward to the next one.

Love love! I’ve seen Retique it used a number of times but I think your video just sold me! They look gorgeous. I love how you said the step looked cheesy when you first apply the word graining tool, you were right, but it turned out awesome! And taping the planks is a great idea!

I like Retique It without the wood grain rubber thingy. I use a whisk broom or a stiff bristled paint brush to give it smaller straight grain. That being said, I thought that you did a fantastic job making each plank look unique!
