    I actually have both, I bought a steez when I had to send my antares back to japan to get repaired. My antares is 10 years old so it was bound to break sooner or later. Yeah I upgrade mine with orange seal boca bearings, greatly improved pitching performance.

    For the early morning before the sun comes up or 30 minutes after you could try a popper or buzzbait around the edges of the pads. Once the sun if up though I would just focus on punching the pads with your favorite soft plastic.

    i was fishing down in Tampa on a boat next to the mangroves and I hooked a 6 pound 36 inch snook but it went straight to the mangroves and I instantly jumped in and had to swim to the mangroves so glad I got the fish. Love your videos man

  • @1Rod1ReelFishing
    @1Rod1ReelFishing  11 років тому

    All three points are correct, but I will tell you why I don't do them. I only carry around 1 rod when fishing, so a 6' 6" med/heavy rod serves as one rod for every technique from flick shaking to cranking to pitching and everything in between. Since I only use one rod, I picked a braid size that would allow for a variety of techniques, 30 lb satisfies that condition. Lastly for the leader, I don't like to re-tie and I use a snap so I can switch lures out easily and fluoro provides invisibility.

  • @1Rod1ReelFishing
    @1Rod1ReelFishing  11 років тому

    Good luck if you head out! Nothing sounds sweeter than the screech of braid after you hook a pig!

    I'm actually not pegging, I'm using my version of a jika rig with a 3/8 ounce tungsten pencil weight. It punches through the heaviest stuff nicely without having to go with a monster weight size.

    You need a bigger pole to flip in the green and a heavier braid to offset the fish plus the grass you'll be pulling in. That's why you missed the first fish punching. I honestly think you don't need the leader as well since its dirty water. good vid tho

    I'm an ok experienced bass fisherman. and I have gone 3 weeks and have Ben fishing 3 days a week. I'm just wanting know how long and how you have gotten out of a slump

    • @1Rod1ReelFishing
      @1Rod1ReelFishing  8 років тому +1

      +Dalton Mcgriff When I was young I would go through slumps often, sometimes weeks like you without catching fish. This year I've only been skunked 5 times so now that I'm much more experienced I rarely ever catch nothing. What you want to do when your in a slump is trying mixing up your fishing spots, fish different areas and try new techniques if your go-tos aren't producing. This time of year the fishing can be tough with the cooler water, be sure to slow down your presentation!

  • @davejeon02
    @davejeon02 9 років тому

    Holy... why do you pitch your lures so high? i.e. 2:15. Doesn't that kind of defeat the point of flipping and pitching? (flat trajectory for a quiet, no-splash entry) Any particular reason? Just seems kind of counter-intuitive to me

    • @1Rod1ReelFishing
      @1Rod1ReelFishing  9 років тому

      ***** When possible I prefer a quiet entry. The pads I was fishing were extremely thick, so in order to get my bait to penetrate the pads I had to use the "high-pitching" technique in the video to punch through the thick vegetation.

    • @1Rod1ReelFishing
      @1Rod1ReelFishing  8 років тому +1
