BMW 3 series: "Measures from the dummy indicate that injuries to the right lower leg would be possible in a crash of this severity. The risk of significant injuries to other body regions is low."
Mercedes-Benz C-Class: "Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity."

BMW wins based on airbag design. 2:07 Look at the driver's head in the BMW, hits the airbag and his head stays facing straight forward. In the Merc the airbag rolls his head to the side, that could break your neck in a crash.

Everyone's so quick to spout which one is better right off. They both maintained cabin space extremely well. Saying one or the other was "FAR" better is stupid. I would say the Mercedes had more survivability space on the inside after the crash for the knees and head though. The bmws cabin space didn't look compromised at all, but the room in it just seemed lesser than in the Mercedes for whatever reason.
Not only that but there was a sudden jolting stop the bmw did when it reached the end of its crumple zone, whereas the Mercedes was more spongey and absorbent looking in the impact, meaning less chance for injury. The hard stop the bmw did could result in a more likely injury. I would have to go with Mercedes being the safer pick, but not by a lot.
That sponginess caused Merc to slide 90 degrees whereas BM turned around half of that!. Mate, don’t take an expert role.
The sudden stop of the bmw looked like it occured due to it's frame bending, if u look at the back of the bmw closely during the crash, u can see the back of it ( the frame) bending 🤔

mmm maybe you are? I mean you get what you pay for... with Honda, you pay to get cheaper equipment, smaller engine, and a average-ly safe framework. Mercedes & BMW have engineered safety for YEARS, especially Mercedes, for being the lead in safety systems. From the radiator to crumple zones, to ABS, to stability systems all the way to radar systems to help the car stop when you aren't paying attention, Mercedes is known for being the first car manufacture to implement technologies to keep the driver & passengers safe. I will always trust Mercedes with my life.... Honda.. Kia.. Nissan... Not so much... Take a look at the crash videos for those brands and you will learn that nothing compares to German engineering.
OBAAT FYI the tesla model s is the the safest car rated by IIHS
German cars are very well built, have high safety ratings and much more advanced than us, Korean, Japanese cars. I own a 2015 Hyundai limited, don't get me wrong Superb suv but the quality is not even close to German cars especially Mercedes. When Germans build something you can't even come close to German engineering they are that damn good, do your self a favour go test drive German car, and the rest see for yourself.
But in the thumbnail , I didn't c any damage in the door of the Bmw ,but the door in the merc kinder damages

Go and look at the A4 crash test in comparison... I'm not liking the way they have used aluminium on these W205s. Sacrificing safety just for the sake of making lighter and faster cars... :/

eddiej1980 eherm the c class has all good crash ratings PLUS superior crash prevention. however the bmw does have the superior headlights. it also has good crash ratings. also merc has no direct competitor for the diesel 335 however they do have c43 amg's

It’s a safety mechanism so that parts dont fly out and hit your face, hood jumps up in protection for the windshield, small prone to flying onto the windshield and hitting driver or codriver fly out forward out of reach

@@thegamer4646 lol not really and by the way a harder structure all around is not a good thing that's why Mercedes invented the the crumple zone because it softens the impact and give you more time to slow down instead of just coming to a complete stop with everything being a more solid structure you don't need a more solid structure except for the cab which Mercedes give you a super solid structure with a cab everything around it is softer due to the crumple zone which Mercedes invented but even then it's not that soft in a way where it doesn't do its job which Mercedes invented
