  • Description and demonstration of an air operated 65 pound blacksmith's striking hammer. The machine delivers single blows on command from a foot treadle with precision and power. Stroke and power are easily adjusted, and the hammer can perform both heavy forging and delicate veining with ease.

I can't believe they're aren't more comments on this , the fact that you can pass an drift through the anvil is groundbreaking ,not to mention the adjustable ram , this is the most veritile hammer I've ever seen !!!!!

This is a very good idea and very versatile, it is suitable for all needs and can change the adapter very easily. Your ideas are worth learning!

you should put a secondary pedal on it that will slide the stroke adjustment up and down. so you don't need to stop to adjust. I really dig all your hammers.

Wow, really impressive build. I like the ram, the anvil. The hole in the anvil. The long guides. Good job. One thing though. I really don't like how you put your hands under the ram. At least on video you shouldn't do such things. Just look at what happened with John Switzer's hand.

Super cool hammer. How do you think the anvil will do if you increase the ram weight?

Does this use solid-state relays or a PLC? I think a PLC for such an application is overkill.

Great job on the power hammer fab. Like the electric control. Surprised you didn't put a treadle lift on the furnace door;0)
