Some fun facts: *The guy who "gave up" Ozai's location is War Minister Chang, first seen in The Northern Air Temple and later The Drill. *If you remember Earth King Kuei told Azula about the invasion plan when she was disguised as a Kyoshi Warrior. This is why the Fire Nation was so prepared for the invasion as they already knew about it thanks to her.
The awful thing is Ozai doesn't care about either of his children. He only values his own power and considers his kids to be and extension of that, which is why he's always had such vitriol toward Zuko, who was talentless and softhearted, and bolstered Azula, the ruthless prodigy.
Perfectly put! Ozai loved POWER and CONTROL, not his wife ( honestly she was more of a living incubator in his eyes), his daughter (she is just an extension of him who he would easily dispose of if she failed him), and especially his son (we definitely know how he sees him). 😔
If you recall when Zhao pulled the moon spirit out of the water the moon turned red and the waterbenders couldn't bend. Later they said it was considered an eclipse when the moon was red (of course Zhao killing the spirit made the moon disappear) so the same thing here where there is an eclipse so the firebenders loose all bending.
Remember when you guys thought Zuko not having a pre-planned betrayal at the end of Season 2/beginning of Season 3 was weak storytelling? You were expecting intrigue. You got character depth, instead.
Gentlemen, some food for thought, Azula is named after the previous Fire Lord (Azulon). QUESTION: Why would a son who wanted to curry favor with his father name his 2nd born child (and a girl child who would not, theoretically, be crowned) when he had a 1st born son?
And it’s not fire bending because lava is melted rocks and minerals. So it uses the same concepts as metal bending, but in reverse. It’s still earth, but hard to control because it is a liquid.
I'm sure I'll be the first and only commenter to tell you that lava is not water! :-P In all seriousness, great reaction though. People just run to the comments immediately when their "ackchually" sensors tingle.
Iroh started training and reconditioning himself because he thought Zuko was completely gone to the side of Ozai. He actually lost trust in Zuko. So, he bided his time and broke out during all the chaos during the invasion. I always felt Zuko's speech to Ozai was important for Zuko to hear as well as Ozai. He's speaking for himself. It's not Ozai, Azula, or even Iroh. Finally, it's Zuko standing up for what he believes. I don't think he could kill Ozai here for a number of reasons. It's still his father. Killing his own father was probably too much. He would be killed. The son killing the Fire Lord would be the ultimate example of treason. It might be that Zuko knows that Ozai is a formidable fighter even without bending. Who's to say there are no weapons hidden within Ozai's reach.
I don't think he ever fully lost faith in Zuko. If he did he wouldn't have bothered telling him about his connection to Roku or giving him the hair ornament.
@@Ultimaniacx4 He had already started training prior to Zuko coming back by. He hoped that there was a glimmer of hope in Zuko. So, he kept trying. But, he wasn't counting on it. He broke out and left. He didn't break out and go find Zuko. I thought that was very telling.
@@IamnotJohnFord You're speaking under the assumption that even if he did 100% hold onto the idea that Zuko wasn't lost, that he would be counting on him to "save" him anyway. I believe Iroh training to get ready to escape is completely unrelated to his faith in Zuko. He was going to do it regardless of Zuko's allegiance. So saying "He trained to break himself out because he wasn't counting on Zuko" is a logical fallacy.
@@Ultimaniacx4 Why didn't Iroh let Zuko know he was training and was going to break out? Iroh let his favorite guard know it would be a good idea that she not be around later that day. He didn't include Zuko because he no longer could trust him. There was hope, but Iroh is pragmatic. Hope doesn't do anything on it's own. He cluled Zuko in on his heritage as part of his final effort to save Zuko. Then, Iroh proceeded to act alone. He managed to get scrolls to Zuko. And, he managed to snuggle in the crown to give to Zuko. Iroh obviously was getting help from secret members of the White Lotus. Yet, they didn't include Zuko. Telling.

2:29 No because Lava is molten earth, not water. Water only involves Water(duh)< Ice, Mist, Clouds, Blood, other bodily fluids like sweat etc. It would take an earth bender to freely manipulate Lava, Fire benders could do it to some Small extent but not much.

Yes your daily reminder Mark Hamill voices Firelord Ozai he didn’t think the show would last he thought basically it was too grownup for kids
too grownup for kids... that`s actually a compliment and that`s why the majority of avatar reactors are pretty much like 25 +)
Loved it as a kid and still love it as an adult haha
Well im happy he was Wrong and i bet he was too cause him as firelord ozai OOOOOO WE LOVE IT
His voice was so fitting for that role
Im so glad you guys recognize Sokka's fault vs Azula without shitting on his character like a lot of other reactors do

Lava does not have any water in it, so no Katara could not bend it
yeah lol, if anyone can bend it it's Toph
Sokka is not the Armin of this group, because Avatar came before AOT. So Armin is the Sokka of the group.
They really to a great job at making you DESPISE Ozai
earth bending is used to lava bend Kyoshi and Avatar Roku lava bended
