72 year old boomer guy reporting a bad case of carpal tunnel from typing so many favorable reviews of First To Eleven. Seconds into this video, I found myself thinking "This is what is looks like, and this is what it sounds like, when a band knows they belong on a world stage." Confidence was showing, and rightfully so, as frontwoman Audra and F211 unveiled their latest classic cover, this time tackling Blondie's "Call Me," the theme to the 1980 movie American Gigolo. I love the version Maria Brink and her ITM band came up with a few years ago, and I also love this version by First To Eleven. I agree that Audra's vocals are otherworldly, and the arrangement is laced with delightful surprises and innovations that work well and serve to make their cover unique. Thank you very much, Audra and guys, for once again traveling so far back in time and breathing new life into Blondie's 40+ year old song!
I agree. I'm a 15 year old so I know it when I say they can revive the golden age music back to the present day. Nowadays other teens listen to just rap, and forget the true meaning of music, but I'm an exception. Which is why I love F211 so much
The best thing about these covers is finally understanding the words. We were in high school when this came out. Between the vinyl and cassettes we were lucky to here the instruments over the hiss or crackles, forget clear vocals. You guys nailed it, as always.
im in love This is such a great cover. I get the shivers on the parts where Audra goes all out on the "shouting" parts. The control in her voice gets better and better. Keep it up guys!
Just today I met this band thanks to the fact that UA-cam recommended it to me and I appreciate it because I have not stopped listening to their covers, they seem great to me, I hope they continue with this, I wish them the best
This is the best song You've covered to date. After it was done I was thinking to myself, " if I didn't know any better, I would have thought this was your own original. " You really owned the song, as though you've been playing it for a year. Top marks on the whole look of the set. Top marks on audra's vocals and on the instrumentals. Top marks on the whole overall production. Listen and repeat!!
@@mikehunt4986 It would be interesting to see F211 demographics, I like their covers and they introduce me to songs I otherwise may not hear. They commented in a Live Stream once about "60 year old guitar players" LOL that's me... Know your audience :)
Tears and goosebumps. She actually hit the note, perfectly. You guys just vaulted to the top 5 of my favorite non-originating bands. If I call you a cover band, which you are not, then I must also refer to the London Philharmonic and every other band/orchestra the same way. None of them plays their own music, either. You don't dress like the Beatles, Audra didn't cut and bleach her hair like Debbie Harry, etc... You're not impersonating anyone... Except Paul Stanley... Couldn't stop laughing. You know how all those old album jackets pictured the bands with such stern looks on their faces? A sense of humor is rare and appreciated. You perform the song in your own marvelous style. Kudos.
Awesome song choice!!!!!! You all have executed this song so well with Audra's gorgeous voice that makes this rendition a MASTERPIECE!!!!!! Thanks for sharing 👍
Love this Blondie Cover, an excellent match for your style guys. Love that you cover an acoustic and then a full cover of Blondie. You made my week and month, it sounds really great. Added to my favorites playlist. Keep waiting for more awesome 80's cover like some Madonna and Cyndi Lauper.
Unreal, I know Debbie very well, in fact my aunt was her singing instructor for a while, amazing cover!!!! is that Slash on guitar? vocals are off the charts! mannerisms and moves are spot on! drums and bass are great! what a great rendition. WOW!!!
great cover I've been listening to the original a lot recently playing though the guardians of the galaxy game and now you guys have covered it. Still hoping for a so what by p!nk cover i think it could be a great cover.
Really love this band, all the work you put into each release. It's really helped me throughout the past years during this crisis. It's just perfect. Thank you, and for all the Patreon supporters.
Blondie being my favorite band of all time, I must say you all did excellent cover that the entire Blondie band would be very impressed with. Keep up the great work!
This is one of those songs I grew up listening too almost on a regular basis. F211 you guys definitely know how to deliver without fail. Job well done as always. Audra this song was without a doubt made for your voice
Superb! I was around when the original came out nearly half a century ago, and you perfectly capture its essence, just as you did with "Sunglasses at Night," "Danger Zone," "Zombie," "Bring Me To Life" and "Welcome Home." 😃
This is the best cover band to ever exist! This is such an inspired arrangement of Call Me. Im curious how Alan Walker's faded would be interepreted by your band!
LOVE IT - As usual, you all put out a super-pro recording sound, and you've done amazing work bringing things up to this level. ( as always have to compliment your drummer for his brilliant "studio savvy" as he's got the magic for that difficult task.)

I love seeing the young people pick up and master these 40 yr old songs. That helps the songs become generational. Fantastic cover.

Good playing, singing and videography. The song worked well with Audra's voice.

okay, audra's hair here looks amazing and so so good. i cannot, besides the singing and the performance and power of it all, her hair is second best

LOL - I was 20 years old when this song came out in 1980 - The same age as you guys now! Makes me smile, great job!
Makes me smile that there is someone older in the comments section than me! (I was 4 in 1980.)

Audra's voice is so powerful in this one! Love it! :)
Love from Malaysia!!!❤️❤️ Really love how you guys arrange every songs.. First to eleven inspires me alot!!!
I love the extra rock vibe to this song. It’s been “Firsted”
elevened.
In This Moment did an amazing version of this song, (fully metalled-out), but First's rendition sets itself apart and absolutely kicks ass.
@@Kara_Kay_Eschel I debated that term, too. Firsted sounds elevated to me. Maybe “played at 11” us better
At first I missed the 'r' in that, so it looked like you said it had been "Fisted" and I was very confused.
@@The_Jiant Haha! Yeah! I thought they could happen! And that’s definitely not a plus
Those guitar riffs really send me! Your vocals are very similar to the OG!
This is probably the best ever. I can't stop listening to it. 1,000,000 % not only nailed it, it's better than the original!
So is their cover of thriller, these people are on par with JT music in terms of never missing.
Teenagers too by chemical romance

I was hoping/waiting for a Blondie cover from you, and you crushed it. This and Surrender are now my two favourites by First to Eleven. Excellent.
Don't know how you (the entire band) keep getting better. Been a big fan for over 2 years and you seem to keep raising your own bar.
I love this song so much, and you sound amazing guys, Audra's voice is just isn't from this world.

Great job Audra. Hat's off to the drummer doing a nice Clem Burke impression.
I've been a huge Blondie fan since their inception and this was indeed, exceptional.

It's awesome to hear her singing in a higher register, don't get to hear that much from her, she sounds amazing no matter what!!
Just the best cover of this song I've ever heard
Great cover, its nice to hear her finally start to put some power and emotion behind her singing.
Best Covering Band of the Twenty First Century
BRAVO
Yes, they're definitely the best covering band from modern years.
Blondie being my favorite band of all time, I must say you all did excellent cover that the entire Blondie band would be very impressed with. Keep up the great work!
Another outstanding cover! Love how y’all made it your own. And Audra’s vocals just continue to improve and impress. Well done all.
Really liked the drums and the synching of the video with them at the end. Awesome stuff as always!
never thought this song would sound epic when turned to rock. amazed once again

Blondie was one of the first albums I owned. Yup even before tapes. Good times. 👍
My favorite cover! I keep coming back to this
As always, thx for doing songs for us old people. :) from my softmore year in high school.
Doing it again. Dragging a classic rock song out dusting it off and making it a banger for a whole new generation. Keep on rocking.
Always love their choice (and performance!) of cover songs. Cute that she changed her hair blonde for this one.
I'm blown away. One of my favorites, it's new again.
I don't care for covers. I LOVE First to Eleven covers! These guys do great, and even better than the originals in most cases.
EPIC 🔥🔥
Audra’s hair has a vibe into it!
You guys read in my mind, I was listening to the original this afternoon. Amazing
Debs would approve. This is sheer energy explosion. Love it love it
My fav blonde song! Yes! I love it!

One cover that I'd like to see you guys take on is "Kids in America" by Kim Wilde or "Masquerade" by Berlin.
+1 for Kids In America!

The lead's voice meshes very well with this song. It reminds me of the very first time I heard Debbie's voice, in my childhood.
