    I want to say a huge thanks to my patreons for donating 2 crafts for this video! The mini VTOL at the start was built by Onneyon, and the large, long range transport VTOL at the end was made by sandubba. Check out their kerbalx downloads and show them some love!
    As always, hope you enjoy the content!

    I was the one who suggested that timewarp would decrease the timestep and therefore increase the force on Stratzenblitz video "Engineering a LIGHT-SPEED mass driver". Right now i feel the most smug i have ever felt lol.

    • @Stratzenblitz75
      @Stratzenblitz75  3 роки тому +79

      I didn't think it would work, but it turns out it works exactly as you predicted. 4x time warp literally multiplies the impulse by 4, which greatly reduces the number of decouplers you need. That said, it still sucks. Instead of an effective ISP of 10 s, you get 40 s, which is still very low.

If private companies like Space X can achieve more in less than a decade with less budget, then NASA has no excuses. Billions invested on long range satelites (which I don't complain about) instead of developement of a manned mission to...anywhere. Add to that a general lack of main objective and you have NASA.
