Nice job Greg! I haven't seen any of your videos in a while. I guess YT broke us up in the algorithm. I am glad to see you are still getting out there and making some videos. I need to be more diligent myself.
Went fishing there in my kayak for the first time in late October. Caught a ton of bluegill, trout, a couple largemouth and even one channel cat, all on my fly rod.
This lake becomes MUCH harder to fish from the shore just a bit later in the season than now. The weed mats are thick and cover the entire perimeter. Can still fish it from the inside in a boat. Never have I seen anyone catch a walleye, even though it used to be known for that. It both gets warm (seasonally) but a lot of water is diverted to farms later in the season, so the water level drops dramatically. There is also a fish study that shows IF you caught a walleye only 1 per month would be safe to eat. IIRC it was due to high mercury levels. The lower food chain fish were a bit safer. The water comes from Skaguay area via Beaver Creek.
Very cool! I'll add it to my list of lakes to visit when I'm eventually down in that part of Colorado
Definitely! Early season is probably the best…I’m hearing the water level drops a lot and the weeds get bad later in the season

Thank you so much for your insights. It was a nice little gem of a lake. Sounds like I should keep it in my early season rotation of lakes.
Miss ya
Thanks! B back soon!
Thank you MA!
