How deep did you find the perch?
Thanks for watching! Anywhere from 5 to 15 ft
@@gregroden8523 Awesome! Thank you!
Hey Roden i gyat a question What hair cut do you think i should you get??!!!
Can’t go wrong with a clean short hair cut
Rooster! Rooster! Rooster!
Yes!
Hi Mr roden loved the New vid but i gyat a question for you????? WHat should i get as my haircut.
Glad you liked the new video!
Nicely done.
Thanks MA!
where is this?
Southeast Colorado
Thanks for the lesson! Im coming up to Colorado for the first time in the summer and will definitely try what you demonstrated so well with the flasher. Around what speed would you say you were trolling that at? Also were you trying to stay in any specific depth? Many thanks.
I trolled about 2mph in 60 ft…the guys at the marina can point you in the right direction.
Awesome catches! I fish a Hobie kayak but mostly So Cal ocean fishing. I plan on coming out to the 11 mile area this mid summer. Do you think the techniques used here will work at that time or do I need to be deeper?
Mid summer they tend to be a little deeper…pike are in the weed beds and trout are in deeper water.
Great Job Greg! I been doing fairly well at The Mile last few weeks now I'm tempted to hit Antero! lol
Thanks! Good to hear from you! Ya…I love both lakes this time of year!
great vid, glad you enjoy eating a couple of fish!, there's more to life than cows, pork and chicken!!!
Thanks ej…ya I release most of the stuff I catch but I also like keeping a few for the table
Cool!!! That was a fun adventure!!!
Thank you. It was a fun trip
Love it. I feel like this might be a bit too much info for the meat eaters though.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Nice one Greg! What beautiful country!
Hey thanks! It’s a great time of year here in CO!
@@gregroden8523 we "ain't got no" pike around here, but those looked like nice ones!
Nice! We were camping there this past weekend. Didn't go after pike. Was hoping for some big trout but only caught stockers.
Thanks D! Ya I didn’t even try for trout…I think we need the weather to cool down a little before the big trout start hitting
This is so wholesome I love it. Also I love the editing of the video!
Aww thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
Awww! RIP Piper. You almost limited out. Pops was over at Queens and they killed it over there.
Thanks Buddy! It was a pretty good hunt this year.
Finally some hunting comntent! I look forward to more. Your luck with the camera and birds in the decoys while I've walked away is just like mine! Dove opens here this Saturday 9/7.
Haha ya filming was a real mess this weekend. Good luck on opening day! Can’t wait to watch your footage!
Sorry to hear about piper, way to get some doves. I took my middle son and my male lab out for a few hours yesterday afternoon and got one. We were just walking a few fields exercising the dog and the birds were flushing too far away from us to get them.
Thanks Jeremy. Im glad you were able to get out and make some memories with your son and dog.
I am unfamiliar with Colorado and appreciate you sharing your experience. I’m wanting to take my canoe down a river in Colorado but am not sure where to go.
Sounds like a great plan!
I’m going here after watching this episode
It’s definitely a fun place to fish!
Man the perch out of blue Mesa are so nice. I’d love to go get some but it’s a 4 hour drive from the springs, little bit too far of a journey just for perch.
Ya it’s definitely a trek from CS
I have found good success targeting lake trout from my yak fishing right at sunrise and trolling the shorelines with big spoons and jerkbaits.
Thanks! Great suggestion! I will definitely try that method next time I’m out!
Right on, nice video!!
Thanks Scott! Glad you enjoyed it!
Muy buen video, me gusta usar la Tasmanian, tengo solo una que me regaló un amigo que falleció y aquí en argentina no se consiguen, por eso la cuido mucho a mí Tasmanian devil.❤
Gracious amigo! I’m sad to hear about your friend. I hope that someday you will be able to get them in Argentina( online?) They are amazing lures for sure!
Another nice one.
Thanks! That was a fun trip!
Pike are so cool We ain't got none of them in AL!
Yep. We have some decent ones here in CO if you know where to go at the right time of year
Nice video Greg. I have been missing the videos. Come to Alabama and show me how. They aren't biting for me in this heat.
Maybe next spring I’ll make a run out that way…I’ve got a daughter in Lexington and another daughter in Nashville.
@@gregroden8523 Nashville is only 2 hours from here so you have to swing SOuth to see me. We will either fish or hunt something. Visitor's choice! That would make me feel better about asking you take me hunting in CO!
@KingsOutdoorLife sounds like a plan…that would probably be the last week of march
@@gregroden8523 OK come on! We can turkey hunt or catch bass, bream, & crappie in my pond.
Sounds great. I can definitely guide you in Colorado if you want to hunt birds or kayak fish(I have 2 kayaks) we have quail, pheasant and mountain grouse
From Michigan, perch is on here whether lake Michigan or and inland body of water. Great video
thanks!! I bet your perch options are much better up there! Would love to take the yak up to MI some day!
I'm surprised you didn't get run over by a four wheeler, a motor bike, or a side by side. I used to go to that area before all the streams had beaten trails along them.
You not kidding! My campsite was packed with all of the above. It’s gotten out of control
yall needa go somewhere else than. as a long time resident of the valley we've had alot of our dirt bike trails shut down to bikers, hikers and people like you. gunnison county is full of places to go with no motorized activities, go to those areas. don't go to areas that we've been forced into because of you and than complain. goddam ppl like yall are the problem.
Will be up there in a few weeks! Thanks for the video! We love to fish the headwaters of the Taylor as well.
Good luck to you up there Hunter! Lots of fun fish to go after at Taylor !
I have never seen a leash on a pole in fresh water, what is the concept behind it? I don't think a trout is going to pull the rod out of your hands. Don't mean any disrespect, just curious.
Thanks for watching! Great question! Ya the reason I put a leash on those certain rods is…they are filled with leadcore line and sink immediately when I accidentally drop them in the water.
@@gregroden8523 gotcha. Thanks for educating me and taking the time to reply
Omg I live here and have watched you for years I have caught a 7 ib channel cat at the spill way and props to you
You live next a Great Lake…congratulations on the 7# catfish!
I'm pretty sure I saw you reel in a bigger lake trout at Gross Reservoir with me. 😁
I think you were reeling in the bigger ones and I was just watching you😎
Nice video! I love fishing up there! Your lure is made by Macks. It is called a wedding ring.
Thanks! I will now refer to it as a wedding ring:) Ya it’s a Great Lake and I’m starting to learn it a little more…I’m thinking I’ll hit it again in the fall.
Nice adventure, need to give the macks a shot sometime soon.
Thanks! Ya I think knowing that there is the possibility of catching a big one really makes them a fun fish to pursue.
Beautiful lake! Good daddy daughter time. I'm sure it was a splake because of the forked tail.
Thanks For the Spake ID Big D! Hope all well!
So fun!!
Great catch!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Attah boy nice trout der welcome to de swamp!
Thanks! Appreciate it!

great video
Thanks!
what a day
Thanks Patrick! It was a great day for sure!
That place is infested with crappies bro! They are over by the dam.
Thanks Bro! I wish I had this tip before the trip🤣🤣
Looks like a saugeye but a beauty!! Good on you for releasing it.
Ya! I was wondering if it could have been a saugeye. Thanks for checking it out!
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Zack!
Wow! Really great time there
It was a great trip! Thanks for watching!
