Yes pets are so good, they are a lot of work when young but worth the growing phase and great company! I have two Chihuahua puppies and love taking them on walks and meeting people!
I had a cat some years ago and like you I was living alone in an apartment. You can get a kitty if you want, but just remember that cats have their own personalities and chances are your kitty will probably want to play and scratch your furniture and your clothes if you let them anywhere near your wardrobe lol. They are great companions, but they can also be mischievous and they're also a big responsibility. That kitty is cute. Please do not get it unless you are financially able to cover it's needs. The kitty you showed us is a hairless sphinx. It needs a lot more care then other cats. It's skin is very sensitive. If not cleaned often and correctly it can develop rashes and deep seated painful blackheads. If you are ready then I am sure the kitty will bring great joy.
You really seem like a cat person . I think you would be very happy with a little kitty friend. There is a breed called Russian blue that doesn’t shed ( cat hair can be a curse ) . Cats can be toilet trained and eat from an automatic feeders, so they are not as high maintenance, but they can live to be over 20 years old so it is a long term commitment.

You can take in a kitty in need of a home for a temporary amount of time until a permanent home can be found - and often save that poor dear from being euthanized due to shelter overpopulation. Or, if you fall in love with the kitty yourself, they will often let you fully adopt it! I would love to be a foster, myself, but.... I would end up adopting EVERY cat who comes to stay with me and I already have six.

Adopt a kitty! I guarantee you it will be better in your hands than sitting in a cage for weeks or months. And just by questioning whether you are responsible enough to get a pet already makes you a better suit for any kitty than quite a lot of people. Also, if you plan to get a kitten, get 2 instead of 1. It's actually easier to raise them that way, as they will look after each other, play together and most importantly, they will be less likely to have separation anxiety (which in some cases might even cause a cat to become hostile towards you so you won't leave)

No, my friend. You don't. What you need is WIRE-HAIRED DACHSHUND - MINIATURE. Mine is named Fausto. Saved my life. Perhaps you have a lover? Who knows! But I can tell you from experience, a Fausto is THE answer to all your emotional woes. Trust me. You will never look back. Love cats also, by the way ... but there IS a difference.
I’d say do it but if your worried about costs check it pet insurance. Not sure if they are worth it but I’m sure someone can help you with their experiences.
