The other Lords base/city is off map. This leaves it open so you can take the entire map but the other Lord still can send attacks and invasions.

I think not building a granary right off the hop was a larger problem. All the food they started with rotted in the rain.

Does the game run that smooth? You don't post edit or speed up the video? Looks amazing.
It runs that smooth on my rig - my friend has a 4070ti and gets 60+ fps on max graphics

Snap Strategy has pushed population to 1000, now pushing it to 5000. It's starting to struggle bad to the point it's becoming unplayable but that's with only one region completely built up. I think if the population was spread out more, have smaller towns and villages spread out over multiple regions it should run better.
