Dude, I really appreciate the lag comparisons with different hardware and software. A lot of people assume it’s all the same or just one is better than another based on brand. You definitely on the level. And I’m into that! Good looks! 🦾
I am a traktor user and my home setup has 2cdj 900 nexus and 1 djm900 nexus love it =)

I wish to have some CDJ 900s, using a flash drive as you say does help when all Serato fails. You never know even with the Gemini CDJ 700s that I have settled up with my Reloop RMX mixer, Serato is hooked up to that and the software works well as I know of, nothing wrong with it.
Great vid! Was somewhat undecided about the 900nxs but after this is clear they are the right choice.

Even for the purists such i i feel is impecable super accurate pitch next to my techies. Best combo . Possible the best cdjs ever made. Not just for performance but for combining all pioneer dj history in a more purist package vs the 2000s and now 3000s

Thank you for the great review Pri Yon. I'm still deciding between the XDJ-1000s and the CDJ-900s Nexus, which one would you recommend if mainly I would use the USB flash drives, no software involved
I had to go on a hunt during covid for the xdj 1000 mk1’s for the fact that it supports serato hid, now none of my friends use serato so it was a waste of time and i shouldve gotten the mk2’s lol
I like the CDJ 900s it still has a CD slot drive and I like that, just in case the software go haywire, you never know what could happen with Serato not saying it will go wrong but you'll never know.
It’s always good to keeps. Flash drive handy in those cases.
Yeah we all use flash drives as backups :) you wanna risk scratching a cd either and your track starts skipping live :(

Hello, thank you for the great showcasing of this model which i own. Could you please advise what audio set up must be performed in traktor in order to use CDJ 900 sound card as audio card via CDJ/XDJ asio and record a mix with it. My issue is that i dont know why , i have audio lags and popping when my DJM 750 asio card is set as main device in traktor, (latency chagnes does not help via djm 750 utility . But this lags are not present when CDJ/XDJ ASIO is set as main device for traktor. But i dont know how i should record sets when CDJ s are set as main audio devices. Thank you.
I love your informational videos. My question is does the 900 nxs have access to the hot cues? I dont know if I missed it or if you touched on that subject. Hotcues I think are very important to djing. Unless djs just play the whole track from beginning to end.
no it does not. only memory cues.
No they don’t. That’s why in the video, I recommended the XDJ-1000MK2s If you are playing standalone since they have 8 hot cues.

Hi, I want to ask, if I put for example 5 hot cues in the track in the rekordbox on the PC and then I would play it on the cdj900nexus, would I see these hot cues? Or just first 3 of them, or I wont see any of them
I Remapped Beat divide buttons to Hot Cue In Serato & It Feels Better Then Xdj 1000mk2

I am currently using Serato on my Imac, playing DVS on old school turning tables, whats the best value media player for my set up? Its for home use. I almost debated on some old cdj 850 since the screen is not important for me.
Do you reckon these are worth getting now? Or is it likely the CDJ-900NXS2 will come out soon?
If you're a Serato user, and you don't want to spend on the CDJ-2000NXS2s, these are great. The CDJ-3000s are still awaiting support for Serato.
in the newest model hid mode is plug and play but on some oleder models you nee to purchase fulll recordbox do you know if the 900 or djm700 unlock the full version or i have to buy it in order to activate hid mode?

Waveform on CDJs when using HID mode with Serato was introduced on the CDJ-3000 in 2021.
hi Joni! So both cdj 900nxs and xdj1000mk2 are fully compatible with traktor? In case i buy a native instruments z2 mixer that has gives you traktor licence i can play with no problem?
My CDJ 900 NXS doesn't display that big wave on the screen. It maybe me not knowing on how to display exactly as it displays on those cdjs
make sure your tracks are analyzed in rekordbox and that you have a compatible flash drive

I have a pair of 900 Nexus CDJ already and was going to get a third one, however are you saying that I would be better off getting the XDJ 1000MK2 instead? Would that set up also work with Traktor as it's my preferred software? Thanks
I recommend the CDJ-900NXS for Traktor. The mapping for the XDJ-1000MK2 has a bit of lag on the jogwheel. IF you already like the 900NXS with Traktor, I reocmmend sticking with it.
I am a long time Traktor DVS user but I now think it is time to drag myself away from the turntables and into some CDJ's. I have been looking into the 900 Nexus for a while now and I feel they are the right choice. A couple of questions, do they work well with Traktor and as they have been in production for a few years now is there any talk of a replacement sometime in the future?
I never got to try them in Traktor. In the past I used the CDJ-900 (non Nexus) with Trakor. If they are as accurate as the 900, the 900NXS will be spot on. Every player can be a little different with different software. But I believe the folks on the NI forums have more experience with this topic.

If you had to decide between these and the XDJ1000mk's which would you choose? I'm trying to decide between the two. It would be mostly for home use however they would get taken out for the odd gigs and the 900nxs seem like they are built more durably than the XDJs?
If you have no plans to use it with Serato, the XDJ-1000MK2 has far more update tech on it. The aacdj-900NXS is a great piece for Serato HID but is missing features like hot cues.
Can you connect a ddj sp1 to the 900nxs for hot cues?

You can use it in HID mode with the DDJ-400.

The XDJ-1000MK2 is more advanced technologically since it came out later. It has the touch screen, access to 8 hot cues, as well as a more advanced connect to Pro DJ Link. However the CDJ-900NXS has the unique feature of Beat Divide and is the one that is Serato HID compatible. “Better” depends on what you’re looking to do.

Because of the update on Traktor, fixing the lag issue on the XDJ-1000MK2 and CDJ-3000, would say both are great but the XDJ has more up to date tech.

LOL you don't need Sync to use a 4th deck with effects -- just ears. Done with pages and videos that spread misinformation.
I can't get them to fully work in performance mode, it lets me select tracks and load them to the players but I can't play them....what am I missing here? export mode works fine
Did you activate HID mode on the player?
If you use sync your not a DJ anyone can jump one some decks and use sync
