Rubiel wasn't forced to compete. I am a native spanish speaker and I can confirm that he didn't mean to say "the sponsor forced me to compete". It was more like a "you flew all the way here already, why dont you just compete and grab the paycheck" type scenario. Bodybuilding media is twisting the crap out of that ig live that Rubiel made.
@calebcruz7084 dont know where you are from. I am from Argentina, and at least for me, it wasn't even close of sounding like "forced". He said "hable con mis sponsors, con mi gente más cercana [...]. Y su respuesta fué: pues ya esta acá, pues compita". Translation: "I talked with my sponsors, with my closest people [...] l. Their answer was: well you are already here, just compete". He never said "they forced me to compete", "they said I had to compete because of my contract", etc. To me that sounds more along the lines of: "you prepped for weeks, you traveled all the way here, we are couple days out. Why don't you just compete and grab the paycheck regardless of the result? It's money for your pocket, dont let your effort go to waste".
Hey Paul I'm an optometrist. A blood thinner like aspirin will definitely make you more prone to having subconjunctual hemorrhages. Excessive straining (sneezing hard, vomiting, etc) will cause the hemorrhages and your tight goggles theory makes sense too.
Guys in the initial video… Rubiel literally said he was forced by his sponsors to do the show. I speak fluent Spanish, it was very clear. And in the next video he sounds like his sponsors forced him to walk back the statement but he just tried to make it sound like it was a rumor. He sounds really dumb calling it a rumor instead of owning up to the fact that he didn’t want to honor the contract. He should’ve never called it a rumor, it clearly came from his own mouth
Early top 6 prediction for Olympia: 1. Derek Lunsford (most likely improved and beats Hadi with similar conditioning) 2. Hadi Choopan wins if Derek is not drastically improved 3. Samson Dauda most complete 4. Andrew Jacked can get higher 5. Nick Walker huge fan but he is out of conversation 6. Hunter Labrada
Hey Fouad you need to ride your bike in Virginia on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall. I've lived all over the US from California to Texas to New Hampshire and even in Belize for a couple years and I can honestly say it's top 3 I've seen in my life.
I watched the live Rubiel did(in Spanish btw) and he never said the sponsors forced him to do the show. He said they said “well you’re already here if you feel okay enough you might as well give it a shot and see how you do.”
Paul - Scotch broth is your soup answer. Basically - lentils or split peas - chopped onion or leek - chopped carrot (or mashed) - diced potato - chicken or ham - small bits - 8 veg stock cubes - loads of pepper - small amount of salt Have some nice bread with it
I had a friend trying to make plans for August 17 and I was like “I know I have something that day but I can’t remember what.” I was definitely thinking of the wedding iain has 😂
I believe ufc just recently changed their drug testing company, but for the last 10-15 years, they’ve been with USADA and have had extremely strict testing to the point where superstars and champions who are extremely popular and would have earned the ufc much more money have been suspended for months to years.
I haven't watch the podcast in about 6 months, so busy with life, but coming back to watch today was so nostalgic. I'm laughing my ass off rn thanks for making us feel like we're shooting our shit with buddies.
I agree with Paul about the ribs. Same thing with chicken wings and pistachios. The amount of work you have to put into it for what you get is not worth it.
The scene that was portrayed in the Olympic opening ceremonies is of: The Feast of the Gods, painted by the artist Jan van Bijlert. The original Olympics celebrated the Olympic gods and the athletes were nude. Parisians and Europeans don’t really get bent out of shape from partial nudity. And the blue dude was supposed to be Dionysus, the god of food, wine, and debauchery. Paris is known, for food, wine and sex. He is also the father of Sequana, who is the goddess of the river Seine, which is the famous river in Paris that the ceremonies took place at. Don’t have to like it, however, it was definitely relevant. 🤷🏻♂️
I think if the goggles are super tight they could. Also if you have coughing or sneezing fits that can cause it. When you lift do you do a valsalva a lot? Diabetes and hypertension can make you more prone to developing them, too. They make your blood vessels more weak and prone to burst. Source: worked in opthalmology for 10 years.
I was at the Overall Winner’s qualifier 2 weeks before USA’s. His conditioning is Dorian Yates-esque in the idea that pictures don’t do NEARLY the justice to display Austin’s density, vascularity, and dry conditioning in person. The NPC Twin Cities Open (Keone guess posed there) had a good looking Heavyweight lineup that Austin obviously won.
I also had a burst blood vessel in my eye when I was a child. It indeed was from going to a pool with slides and alot of pressure. Everyone told me to not worry about it and it indeed ended up being fine.
Thank you Guys, I listen and watch the Podcast as i workout instead of music ….its entertaining, laughter, it’s bodybuilding, laughter, it’s food and eating, with more laughter….Great Job as always….Hosstile Rocks
With regards to Paul's eyes, could be the weed, I'm quite a heavy user and my eyes/sinuses have definitely suffered. Had burst blood vessels regularly, doesn't help heavy coughing after a big hit either 😅😂.
Wearing goggles in the pool typically should not cause blood vessels in the eyes to burst. However, if the goggles are too tight or not properly fitted, they could create excessive pressure around the eyes, potentially leading to broken blood vessels. Other factors that might contribute include Pre existing conditions such as hypertension or blood vessel fragility can increase the likelihood of blood vessel rupture. Accidentally bumping or pressing on your eyes while adjusting your goggles could result in burst blood vessels. From what you mention sounds like you have them way too tight on and wear them for too long.
Paul “I think I had to much caffeine. I’m a little jacked up tonight”- hahahaha Followed by mikes chuckle is hilarious. How do you even get mad at Paul Fouad lmao
It's likely allergic conjunctivis which last a few days to a week. I've gone through that due to allergies (dust and pollen) while living in the desert and heavy sneezing. Try Zaditor antihistamine eye drops or whatever the Canadian version is.
So I can confirm the sneeze situation. I also have a deviated septum and narrow nasal passages. I also had it fixed. I sneeze every single morning 4-5 times with a runny nose too. Then it just stops. Literally every day.

This show is good up until the q&a when all they do is talk about themselves. Then it sucks!
Babe wake up Fouad Abiad Media dropped another podcast
Definitely was a welcome site this morning. Playing this podcast while im working is always what the doctor ordered.

That makes a lot more sense.
I speak fluent Spanish too, it sounded more like forced. Don’t know why he called it a rumor after

Actually not . They admitted in their original apology it was the last supper. And the blue “guy” also tagged it as such .

Thats why I try to be careful and say I'm only judging by pics, thanks for your assessment.
I will say one thing I really respect is iains humility towards Chris. He won multiple Olympias as a coach and takes little to no credit for it.
This podcast is timeless.
Love & Respect
As an person in IT I now understand end-users with the bit at 42:37 it was the funniest shit to me I love it.
I've also been wondering about Paul's book for ages now LMAOOO
