- Not long ago I uploaded a video of how I store and bottle my honey. I decided to do a video specifically on the features of our new Maxant bottling tank. It has been a game changer for sure.

Great Video Bruce love that TANK
Yes. It is worth the money but it took me a long time, like years, to pull the trigger!
Thanks for the video. A Maxant 16 gallon bottler is on my wish list for next year. Need the bees to pay for it with this year's honey sales.
Maybe they will. You will love it!
Nice bottling tank, hope to get one in the future.
Thanks. Yes it works well.
My next purchase. I actually live down the street from Maxant. Really cool place and nice people.
Yes it is well worth the money IMO.
Love my maxant extractor
Yes I love my extractor and this bottling tank has been a complete game changer!
Bruce, the only honey that I’ve ever had to crystallize was some I bought from another Beek locally. I’ve never had any that I harvested crystallize. How long on an average before the honey in your area crystallizes?
It just depends. The tallow seems to be slow to crystallize. The spring honey is a little quicker but still takes a few months. The spring honey that I have right now is beginning to crystallize significantly in the buckets and we harvested it in May.
Not sure when it actually started because it has been in those 5 gallon buckets.
It seems it isn't quite "dripless" as they say.. I saw that you and in their demo, they wipe the valve with the bottle after each fill. Thanks for the video!
It is true that I wipe the bottle across the valve but it os SO much better and faster than the old way I did it. I love my Maxant bottling tank.
@@brucesbees Agreed, it looks better than the messy honey gates!
Do you weigh those bottles ? I was was told buy the manufacture one lb of honey goes right to the bottom of the cap ,
There is a fill line about where these are filled to. And yes we have weighed them to see. Usually there is actually a little more than a pound in these bottles. It is possible that different manufacturers’ bottles need to be filled differently. These bottles are form Sailor Plastics.
Hey what size tank is it and how many gallons do you do a year? Thanks
16 gallons. Somewhere around 300 gallons this year.
I buy honey in five gallon buckets for home use. I know it’s pricy but could buy the tank and store all my honey in it and warm it up only when I need to bottle some for my pantry? Would it hurt the honey to heat it to many times? Thanks I really enjoy your videos!
That might work. The only issue is that the lid does not seal tightly. It does secure the honey but not sure if I would want to use it as a long term solution.
This is a great question. If anyone else has any thoughts feel free to share.
Good job longsnapper
Thanks for checking in!
Go Cougs!
Bruce with the volume you’re doing, do you wish you’d gone bigger than the 16?
Maybe would have been better but we typically just bottle up what we need as we go and I am usually able to stay ahead of it pretty well.
What size bottles are those and where do you buy them.
Thanks!
I mostly use one pound squeeze bottles and get them from Sailor Plastics. They sell all different sizes and shapes.

Doesn't the honey re crystallize after a short time? I have to cream mine because the native flora causes fast crystallization, Here in Australia the Dedant bottling tank costs about $2000.00 after you add shipping etc so they have priced themselves well out of the market baring in mind that the Chinese automated system starts a little over $3500.00
The honey will probably re-crystallize over time but I usually sell it in one pound bottles and only bottle it up as I need to so when I sell it is will usually be nice and clear. This tank with shipping was $1,300 + and then I also bought the pail perch which was not cheap. But it should last me for many years to come. With the quantity of honey I have I do not want to go back to the old way for sure!
@@brucesbees i totally agree with you that it was for you perhaps the next step forward, I on the other hand am scaling down.
I hear ya man! Thanks for checking in from the other side of the world.
My honey tastes like metal after storing it in a heating tank. I dont know what to do now :(
Never had an issue with that. Hmm.
That’s the same labels I use.
Cool. I really like them.
Where do you get your labels for the Salior bottles?
I order them from Blue Sky Bee Supply. They have several different types of customizable labels.
Mate fill your jars with more honey.
One pound jars. One pound of honey. There is a fill line and we have also measured them. Actually they usually have a little more than one pound when we fill them up. Thanks for checking in!
