  • In this video i start to fabricate a tree puller from the customers drawings. The tree puller it designed to fit on the front of a multione 10.9 mini loader and will used to pull out blackthorn hedges and any small trees needing to be cleared.
The new siegmend fixture table came in extremely useful for this job.
If you are interested in any siegmund products you can visit www.escco.co.uk/ and use the code: "Snowball" for 10% off.
    Hope you enjoyed the video.
    Thanks for watching!

Make some catch trays to slide under the table, that way it’s easy to find the small stuff & clean. Make a triangle infill piece for inbetween the legs to direct debris in to the trays

It might seem like a weird comment to make but damn is it nice to see a fabrication youtuber take protective equipment seriously.
Glasses when using the saw, full googles and respirator when grinding, proper gloves and jumpsuit and mask, even a filtered one because of the lack of a fume extractor, when welding.
    Warms my heart.

And in between leeding grain from the field, hope you have a good harvest. Thanks for another interesting video mate, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.

It's notable of someone who is very diligent and meticulous that you double or triple check every measurement automatically. A cut above a simple fabricator. Not just do it but do it right precisely with due attention to every detail.
That welding table is really showing it's value BTW. I bet you're wondering how you lived without it.

I think those types of brackets will be better in the long run...not only does it spread the load, but if it ever needs to be repaired...all they (or you) will have to do is plasma/arc gouge off the plate, clean up the box section and put a new part back on..but with the loads/stresses being spread out over a thicker piece, it shouldn't crack welds or bust box sections like normal builds
Sure fabrication is a bit more lengthy and time consuming...but it makes for a MUCH stronger and longer lasting machine in the long run...
Loving it...can wait for part 2!
    Keep em coming!!!!

Hi Oliver. Your new fixture table is awesome. Faster and more accurate are good combination. All I could thing of when you decided to weld the upright tube to the top rather than cut a hole and pass it thru, was ‘ did he remember to subtract the thickness of the box section?!’

First off - last week’s video. I didn’t think they could get even more challenging but it did. I’m in awe of how well you pulled it off.
This week’s was challenging but in. A different way. I think your customer could have given you the critical dimensions and left the rest to you. As for specifying ‘unobtanium’ for the main structure… well. I spent the whole day in hospital so we watched it eating a Chinese takeaway. All the best. Mike

Another great video Oliver. Thanks. A perfect example of a plater’s job in a fabrication shop. Reading the drawings, some better than others, cutting the components, assembling them and tacking everything together. While the welding is undoubtedly a very skilled job I think the plater’s work is from my experience in fabrication shops very underrated. From all the platers I have met over the years I think a great number would have given a lot for a fabrication table like yours. All they had was a plain table with a gas fire underneath to help keep them warm in winter in a shop with no heating.
