I have my TF3 now. I have done some simple mods to susp and switched to my SSD rims and 1.5 growlers, Other wise everything else is still stock, No probs with steering. So off to trails this weekend with it,
Great job! I'm thinking the 3 needs more weight to make the suspension work, although what you've done so far seems to be an improvement. You're right about the ESC, the stock RC4WD piece is only 60 amps and is OK for light trails but it was definitely struggling on the rocks. I prefer a high turn (65 - 80) brushed motor, but I haven't tried a Holmes 5 pole. Too bad they didn't bring back the Bruiseruptor rear axle for the 3. It would be interesting to see if it would make a difference to have the springs in a more scale position. One idea I've got would be to get some construction flags to mark gates, to compare them on identical lines. It seems to be much louder than the 2 also.
I agree, the 3 is extremely loud. I think keeping the rear axle narrow is helping it flex though. I remember fighting that on my old bruiser trying to get it to flex with the wider track out back. I have a cchand flatbed I really wanted to put on the 3, but the chassis rails go all the way to the bumper unlike the 2 and I cant bring myself to chop it up being the limited edition, lol
I just got my TF3 and did the same mods as you did. I also added a drop or 2 of shock oil and it really helped with smoothing out the shocks. My only complaint so far was my factory steering servo quit and esc fried up running on 2s on its 3rd run so I was kinda bummed. But I have a new motor, esc and servo from HH coming Monday. Hopefully I can get mine up and running soon. Not sure if you saw it but rc4wd makes a quick release body mount for the 4runner. It looks pretty decent
Cool video with some cool wheeling, honestly I’m not a big fan of the new tf3. I think they could’ve done a better job on it, especially with the price on it. I don’t really see a improvement over the tf2 honestly, I think they regressed on this one.
They both did really well considering you were driving them through what would be class 8 to 10 trails! Lol. It looks like the steering isn't nearly as bad as everyone is whining about. As I figured. Lol. I bet using some metal rod ends for the steering instead of plastic would take a lot of the slop out. I was afraid it would be impossible to get trimmed right as it comes from the box
Mint video mate, the trucks are looking good👍🏻 Being a Brit I prefer the Defender Gelande 2, Coils rule, leafs druel😜 Just ribbing you, my daily driver is a S2A SWB
@@RCeveryday RC imitating real life, I'm still dialling my Landy in after what 58yrs and 9 previous fuckwits have done to her🤨😄 Keep up the good work mate, I'm looking forward to your next video🍺
It’s hard to say. I’ve always been told these hilux bodies are closer to 1/8 scale. Some things they don’t look quite right on. My Land Rover defender looks more appropriate with 1.9’s than 1.55’s.
Toe in those front wheels more and it will run straight.I would like to know if the 3 has a tighter turning radius? I guess the 3 is louder because of the 2 speed trans running in 1st gear.So both the tf2 and the 3 are available which one would u recommend to a first time buyer?
I have to say I’m very happy with my Marlin TF2 and at the price (same as the TF3) I would just buy another Marlin TF2 The steering and the inboard rear leaf springs just not appealing to me The 4Runner looks great 👍 Awesome video though !
Hi! I live the wheels and tires on your Hilux. I goz the car since 3 days. Could you tell me the type of wheels and tires you mounted? And the size if it‘s possible. I am scanning the RC4wd parts all day😄
Your old body looks really good with the TF3 bumpers going over the rocks and it moves well. I injoy your videos because you are into scale like me so I have to ask you what are your feelings about the oversized 22R under the hood? Looking at it next to one under the 4 Runner side by side. That's the only thing that has me thinking no. The last engine is really good I just wished they were the same size. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Man that engine is pretty large. It doesn’t bother me too much because I don’t like opening hoods that much. I do like how heavy the motor trans combo is, it really seems to make the front suspension work well. I get why a lot of folks don’t like it though. It’s at least half an inch too long.
@@RCeveryday Right, Now do you know if they will be making all rest of the 22R so it looks like it will run? Because if they did that would help it look smaller and better than the engine bay in the 4 Runner.
Great video I do enjoy those white Rims, nice old fashion.
Nice crawling💪 love the scenery and the camera close up😃

Man great video! I love the looks of that 4Runner! Looks awesome! But both rigs look great!✌️😎👍
4 runner looks sweet nice stance my tf2 needs that body

Great video! That TF3 is sooo loud lol. And regardless which one performed better, your TF2 looks awesome. One of my favorite rigs.
Looking awesome dude, it was some cool crawling, as always appreciate you sharing peace and chicken grease
I use the grub screw method with my 4runner body. So far so good but your right. The holes are starting to oval :p keep it up ! Tf2 for life xD

That is awesome. 👍Great work my friend 👊😜✌
I was wondering if you had both rigs on 1 radio. Nice crawling area!

You really don’t notice on the trail. Just when trying to drive in a straight line😂
Nice trail...tf3 is pretty capable...

Are 1.55 wheels actually something like 14 inch 1-1 size? I did the math on my extra cab and they seem small.

Right now I’d still recommend the tf2 marlin edition for a first time crawler. It’s got all the right mods right out of the box.
Thanks for the thoughtful
reply.Really enjoy your channel and the way you keep
it real ,please keep doing what you do!

That is very cool..
Leave that fourRunner alone....It's perfect.
Man that TF3 is loud. I had high hopes for it and I don’t see any reason to not keep a TF2.
It definitely is loud. I haven’t opened it up yet to swap the motor, hoping I can adjust the gear mesh some.
I'd take my scx10 through that but not my tf2. 1.5's are to small for those rocks
Buen video!! Saludos desde #crawlerrcsevilla
A steering dampner shock
Only trying to help if it works that will be great
