Im 19 and have been building my fox for the last two years. I just built a 5.0 for it and re sprayed it the original deep jewel green but doubled the flake so it really pops now. Hope to have my channel up and going soon.
That emerald green with titanium lower end has been my favorite for a long time. I actually just saw one the other day in a parking lot and almost ran a red light looking at it. Lol
I've built a lot of Foxbodies and my Reef Blue Coupe is the only one that I wish I had back. I bought it totally faded with the intention of painting it Cobra Teal. The color grew on me and I ultimately painted back in the factory color. I had no idea how rare they were until I started trying to find another one years later.
The two tone green looks great. My first fox body was an '86 gt rag top. My first car was a '83 trans am and that was fast. I love the 80's muscle cars. And now with more powered engines and the light weight, definitely don't need a new model
In 1991 I was worked at Summit Racing and was pioneering all the "bolt on" offerings they had for my 6000 mile "new to me" 1989 5.0 lx sedan "Dove Grey"... at that time the color was mainly reserved and used on 4-cylinder cars and of course back then sleepers were all the rage. This car actually had a luggage rack option that made this car true sleeper as long as you didn't notice the 5.0 batches or the dual exhaust. Back then the main modification that I was making to the car that was met with limited success was dealing with a very little known transmission guy named Carl Baumann who now has his company labeled as ballman Electronics. We were doing valve body modifications by phone and fax diagrams trying to accomplish what was then a near-impossible feat of getting a factory aod to have the feature of Full Throttle in overdrive without kick down. A definite must with 410 gears. Thanks for the video. Love all these foxbodys. 89 was my favorite for all the options that was available in that model year only. Power locking gas cap door standard, center console armrest was standard, mass air flow standard, first year for improved rear oiling on aod, and most importantly, last year for tilt steering and no airbag.

In 93 I bought a Reef Blue notch back 5.0 when I couldn't get a Bimini blue. Still have the coupe. 42k miles featured in Super Ford Twice way back when.
A guy I work with has an 100% all stock 93 reef notch 5.0 5 speed. He has probably driven it 500 miles in 5 years. It’s mint. I’d love to own it one day.
That is awesome except for the part about it being driven 500 miles in 5 years...that really is a shame. Such a beautiful awesome car wasting away somewhere in a garage not being driven. Cars were built with 4 wheels on em for a reason and it wasnt to hold it upright inside someones garage lol. I understand it not being the daily but it def needs to be driven just my .02
Tommy John I had a 90 LX hatchback that I wish I would have never sold myself. I have owned 18 Mustangs and that by far was my favorite. I even owned the Strawberry LX notch that he mentioned.

Had a 89 1/2 notch back x ga state highway patrol car they spray over the silver with state patrol blue to match it all up. I know not factory color but gd it was cool AF. Miss it so much I was 19 when I got it so many memories.
sold mine a few years back. had a 351 proline with NOS. was a nice looking ride. just sat around too much, the motor wasn't built for cruisin, basically track & show.
I liked your top five with one big exception. I would have to replace Bimini blue with Calypso green. In the ninety's, that color was eye grabbing, different and beautiful. It really stood out back then. Right now I would clearly take Reef Blue as my #1 and is my pick as it is yours. My Honorable mentions would be the 1986 Bright red Mustang GT and the limited edition 1993 Canary Yellow convertible. That red four eyed Fox really popped with its contrasting flat black stripe on the hood and trim! This car is still desirable today and has stood the test of time. Also, I know yellow may not be an overall favorite for some, but it was another visually striking car with the overall monochromatic paint scheme, black top and chrome ponys...
I had a 1991 Mustang Lx Sedan 5.0 auto that was medium titanium with the GT seats. Loved that car. I traded it for a truck due to getting married and needing something to help us move. That was one fast car that surprised a lot of people. Maybe one day I will get another one.
So I'm going to have to repaint my 93 gt very soon, Its a red but I'm not sure which paint code it is, I love the blue colors but I also like the reds, 1st Question, How can I find the paint color code on my car. 2nd question would you have the original color of the car resprayed or opt for a rare color? Does the car look better resprayed vs diffrent color paint? I know alot of the quality of the paint has to do with the prep work and quality of materials used.
I currently have a Light Regata Blue TTop hatch. Going to respray it Fighter jet grey off the new mach 1, but from what I heard, LRB is a rare color too

Titanium silver clear coat metallic Notch backs with black interior and chrome ponies or 93 cobra wheels is one of the nicest looking setups!! Cars of that color combo always were higher priced. Just flat out beautiful!!!
I am the original owner of a 1989 GT convertible, Cabernet Red with white leather interior and white top. All original, no modifications, 50,000 miles. Repaint in 97, has never seen the rain since.
93 reef blue for the win. I had a 79 2 door trunk that I converted over to a late model with a swap out from an 86 wreck and painted it the reef blue I was swapping before swapping was cool
I have a reef blue coupe with Opel interior, black would've been nice... It's a 4cyl auto car but it currently only has 73,xxx actual miles! I stayed after this car for 24 years (since high school, it belonged to a friend's mom who bought it in 94) and finally got it. I've actually known the car since it was new and finally got ahold of it in August of 18'!
I have a 2000 sunburst gold gt. I didn't really care for the color when I first got it when I was younger. Of course I wanted a black one but the older I get the more I like it and appreciate the color. It's definitely not a common color. They only made 5200 total in that color for that year. That includes v6, gts, coupes and convertibles.
Calypso Green my #1, Bimini Blue & Reef Blue tied, triple black, triple white and then the Summer Edition Red with White top, interior and white Ponies. I also like the 7-Up edition. And then I love the blue and silver two tones, any blue and silver would do LOL
Great video. I would have liked to have known what years to what years those rare colors were produced. I feel like the Calypso green color has gained popularity in these past few years. I didn't really feel like it was loved as much back when I bought mine about 15 years ago. I just got that color cause it was the foxbody that I found. 😄 Now I wouldn't change it. I like keeping them original numbers matching anyway.
Mine is reef blue but while the motor was out I painted the engine compartment a medium metalic gray. I think it looks good with the new motor in there. I'm thinking about giving it racing stripes the same color gray. Not sure if that would deminish overall value tho.
Also a friend of mines brother who passed away had a 93’ real cobra with 40k original miles. Could’ve got it for 15 grand after he passed but unfortunately didn’t have the money. I wish I did looking back at it.
There are too many colors that I like to make a top 5. I thought I had seen them all until you showed that Crystal Blue! Omg that color is 🔥. I also commented to say that my very first Mustang was an 89 GT. I never knew what Ford named it but we all called it Dove Gray. I kept it so clean that it looked White until it was beside a true White car or if it had snow on it during the winter.

My favorite color was that 89-90 med light 💡 blue with or without the titanium skirt kit. But you forgot the rarest of all colors. My friend had it and I only saw it once. It was a GT with turbine wheels with the red stripe. It was a very very light grey. Or off white. Can someone find out what’s the name and code for that color? If I ever get a chance to restore a Fox 🦊 body it would have that paint color 🎨 on it.

You almost made me jump out of my seat! At the end when you showed the deep emerald green two-tone GT, I thought it was my old car for a second… I bought one brand new in 1992 and had to wait six months for it because of the color being so rare. I lowered it with full Saleen Racecraft suspension, added the Saleen wing and had the factory ponies chromed. The only way I realized that wasn’t my car and your video was I removed the 5.0 from the fender and added a silver “Racecraft Suspension” sticker. I had the car for three years, then sold it in 1995. Man do I miss that car now!
I seen the bemini blue car at nmras at beech Bend last year. Where the clip you showed in the video was taken. That drag strip is in bowling green ky abt 15 mins from where I live
There is a Bimini Blue hatch LX 5.0 around the corner from me. Guy died of cancer @ 50 yrs old and his mom will not sell. 100% stock and he bought it brand new! I am friends with the mom so I have treaded lightly in asking about it, but i know she will be gone before the car goes! SIGH!
I own a 93 hatchback that was originally electric red. One of the previous owners repainted it in a kia color that actually looks similar to electric red. Found out the car was built on August 20th, 1993.
Found a 92 notchback with 72k miles on the engine to be a daily driver would you recommend that? Or any tips on what to do as far as preventative maintenance?
Theyre real realiable cars overall i would just do general upkeep on it...change the fluids and oil and stuff and plugs and wires etc etc...i know 72k is fairly low for an old car but like i said it IS an old car so its probably going to need to have some stuff feshened up. Once you do those things long as the engine is good to go no issues you should be golden. These cars can and do take tons of abuse and come back for more. Just dont cheap out on stuff...put the best stuff on it and take care of it and itll take care of you. Also make sure you let the car warm up good (the engine) before you start beating on it but thats the case with any car old or new.
used to have a oxford white notch, it died in a traffic accident that was not my fault...spent a few years looking for a new notch, found and bought a light crystal blue 90 notch, with about 115k on it..
What about 79 jade green metallic cobra color...had a 79 notch jgm with all the cobra pkg and a factory 4 all original till a bad winter destroyed the whole car...interior and all...wish I still had it!
I’ve never had the pleasure of owning a fox but here is my list. 1. Performance Red Cobra 2. Bright Regetta Blue/ grey two tone GT 3 . Deep Emerald agree two tone GT. 4. White 5. Vibrant red Two tone I’m a sucker for the for the two tone GT’s or would love a 93 Red Cobra to match my Terminator. Give the SN-95 & New Edge some love with your list 🤞🏼.
My first 5.0 was a 92 gt (auto) grey bottom, green top, 6 months later driving buy a Chevy dealership, they had a 93 cobra black, grey leather 5 speed, no sunroof # 666/4993, so i bought it lol, few months later sold the gt and drove the shit out of the Cobra!!

Nice list, but I believe I own/have owned that should make a rare colors list: my 91 GT in Titanium Frost with he gray lowers, super classy! I had an 89 GT in Dove Gray (forget proper name) with gray lowers. Both of these are very rare as you rarely ever see either color. I have to admit that the 93 Teal Cobra is my all time favorite Fox Body color!
Love my 4 eyed 86 5.0 in Jalapeño Red. It truly does change colors in the sun. Red to orange back to red. 85-86 only and only on 4 eyes!!

It was a GT with turbine wheels with the red stripe. It was a very very light grey. Or off white. Can someone find out what’s the name and code for that color? If I ever get a chance to restore a Fox 🦊 body it would have that paint color 🎨 on it.

'93 Ep bright red LX built on the second last day of production
You almost made me jump out of my seat! At the end when you showed the deep emerald green two-tone GT, I thought it was my old car for a second… I bought one brand new in 1992 and had to wait six months for it because of the color being so rare. I lowered it with full Saleen Racecraft suspension, added the Saleen wing and had the factory ponies chromed. The only way I realized that wasn’t my car and your video was I removed the 5.0 from the fender and added a silver “Racecraft Suspension” sticker. I had the car for three years, then sold it in 1995. Man do I miss that car now!

There is a Bimini Blue hatch LX 5.0 around the corner from me. Guy died of cancer @ 50 yrs old and his mom will not sell. 100% stock and he bought it brand new! I am friends with the mom so I have treaded lightly in asking about it, but i know she will be gone before the car goes! SIGH!
I own a 93 hatchback that was originally electric red. One of the previous owners repainted it in a kia color that actually looks similar to electric red. Found out the car was built on August 20th, 1993.

Found a 92 notchback with 72k miles on the engine to be a daily driver would you recommend that? Or any tips on what to do as far as preventative maintenance?
Theyre real realiable cars overall i would just do general upkeep on it...change the fluids and oil and stuff and plugs and wires etc etc...i know 72k is fairly low for an old car but like i said it IS an old car so its probably going to need to have some stuff feshened up. Once you do those things long as the engine is good to go no issues you should be golden. These cars can and do take tons of abuse and come back for more. Just dont cheap out on stuff...put the best stuff on it and take care of it and itll take care of you. Also make sure you let the car warm up good (the engine) before you start beating on it but thats the case with any car old or new.
used to have a oxford white notch, it died in a traffic accident that was not my fault...spent a few years looking for a new notch, found and bought a light crystal blue 90 notch, with about 115k on it..
What about 79 jade green metallic cobra color...had a 79 notch jgm with all the cobra pkg and a factory 4 all original till a bad winter destroyed the whole car...interior and all...wish I still had it!

My first 5.0 was a 92 gt (auto) grey bottom, green top, 6 months later driving buy a Chevy dealership, they had a 93 cobra black, grey leather 5 speed, no sunroof # 666/4993, so i bought it lol, few months later sold the gt and drove the shit out of the Cobra!!

Nice list, but I believe I own/have owned that should make a rare colors list: my 91 GT in Titanium Frost with he gray lowers, super classy! I had an 89 GT in Dove Gray (forget proper name) with gray lowers. Both of these are very rare as you rarely ever see either color. I have to admit that the 93 Teal Cobra is my all time favorite Fox Body color!
