Adding a catch can is a must on any modern engine. overtime, dried up oil builds up on the inside of the intake manifold , valves and head runners causing air flow restrictions. I found this out firsthand after cleaning thick layers of carbon buildup from all the above. This was an easy install and now the catch can will filter out the oil circulating through the intake.

Question... how does the PCV scavenging work with the vented catch can?

Thank you! To be honest, I am not sure. I believe I have seen these engines run fine with breathers on the valve covers. Nonetheless, if I have any trouble with it, I will just cap it off. On another note, I did just get the motor back in and the breather may interfere with the engine lid. May need to be capped off regardless.
