Great video. I've just upgraded from a standard iphone 11 to the 15 pro max and I can honestly say its a completely different beast. Loving the reduced weight, screen size, USB-C port and video quality and zoom functionality. I use my iphone to shoot shorts and full length videos for my channel and it will be an absolute power house, as long as it doesnt over heat. So far so good.

The big things for me in regards to the 15 models this year is USB type C and the camera. First thing first, the camera. 12 MP to 24MP is difference maker for me. I use the camera on my phone everyday, this is because I take a lot of pictures of my kids. The Camera on the 15 pro is by far the best camera I have ever owned. The Camera of the 15 pro mixed with Lightroom makes the 15 pro camera fun, convenient, and easy to use. Although the USB type C is a change, may not be the fastest speeds but for the simple convenience of needing just one choard for all my EDC tech is awesome.

Got mine 10 days after launch so now well in to daily life with it. Had a 12 Pro Max before and the 15 Pro Max is an upgrade in every way. New more powerful chip, superior battery life, slimmer bezels, dynamic island, 120Hz refresh rate, better cameras, USB-C, Titanium rails, the list goes on. I use the action button as a mute switch as I liked that feature on previous iPhones. Very happy with my purchase and will probably hold on to it for 2 or 3 years before upgrading again.

I had iPhone 13PM and thought I would not bother. But one boring day I pressed the buy button and now a proud owner of iPhone 15PM. I am surprised, it feels faster and smoother than my 13PM, that I rarely thought was slow! The extra features are mostly value-added, Dynamic Island, 80% battery limit, magic button, 5X zoom, 8GB RAM (now 30+ apps stay in memory), etc.
iPhones have always been expensive, so we can cross that off as a negative. It really is a great phone and my second phone (one work/one personal) the S23U compliments it nicely. Two fantastic day-to-day phones.

I was so torn between upgrading from my 13 pro max because it was a solid phone with amazing battery life and it still had 88% battery health, but I made the right decision in upgrading to 15 pro max, the weight of the phone for a max made a huge difference, it’s more comfortable to hold and feels less noticeable in your pocket, the phone feels small yet still keeping that enormous screen. The upgrade to Dynamic Island is a great improvement to usability with most apps although I think this can be improved over time, it does feel less protruding on the screen as well And the photos and videos look exceptionally improved with the new lenses and 5x zoom. I also traded my phone into Apple to bring the cost of the phone down as an added bonus.

There’s always that moment buying a new iPhone when excitement turns to slight disappointment when you get it out the box and it feels and looks the same, albeit a bit quicker. You did not mention about having the emergency satellite capabilities along with roadside assistance, in the event you were hiking or otherwise off the grid. The 13 PM did not have that.

I got my iPhone 15 pro max two weeks ago, (upgrading from 13pro max). this phone feels surprisingly great, like that a bit of smaller body, a bit lighter, a bit brighter, definitely USB-C, so I'm really happy with my phone, but admittedly, it's not an easy sell when you try to explain it to other people! so I have to agree with you, would be a great upgrade for iPhone12 owners and before.
but also if you have a lot of money to spend, and you want to upgrade from 13 or 14, I think you will also be happy with the purchase, even though it won't be easy to explain why you did it in the first place!

The worth depends on what you’re using it for I guess. For me personally I have the 15pro and Pro max. I could’ve waited another year to see if apple would do anything differently. The best for me is the change in weight/titanium. Other than this for me it’s still just another iPhone. Apples power is their marketing. They market the hell out their products using language and jargon, world pictures of cool earthly people smiling as if they were sick all their life but brought an iPhone and was miraculously healed bringing them untold joy. Apple hasn’t really done anything innovative with the iPhone, but I guess it depends on your use

I upgraded from a 13 Pro to 15 Pro Max. I have been very impressed with it. Like you said in the video, it just feels buttery smooth 99.99% of the time. The camera is fantastic, the HDR alone is a huge upgrade because the 13 Pro often blew out the highlights if you had a dark foreground and bright background also the 24MP default images is a big upgrade in my opinion. You have to zoom to see it but when you do it's so much sharper than an equivalent 12MP photo. I also really like the 48MP HEIF photos which I have used to good effect a few times especially for my cat so I can capture every little bit of fur and the detail in her eyes and for landscapes where there is so much information in the scene and you want to capture as much as possible. The 80% charge limit is really handy, now I don't have to worry about overcharging my battery. It's dumb that this hasn't trickled down to the older phones though. The 5X zoom is a mixed bag for me. For video it's very impressive. The stabilisation is crazy good and if you put it on action mode then it's insane how stable it can make your footage even at 5x and while moving. I took a video of some cliffs in the distance out the window of a moving car and it looks like it was filmed on a gimbal. For photos with the 5X I have gotten some really nice ones and the zoom quality is pretty good comparing to old photos of the same scene that I have from the S22 Ultra and Mi 11 Ultra but I do think Apple needs to crank up the AI smoothing a bit. When you zoom past ~10x the images start to get a bit noisy. I know that AI smoothing can only do so much and the photos will start to look photoshopped like the ones on the S23 Ultra 10X camera, but I still think that it is a better trade-off to have an artificially smoothed photo rather than one that is noisy and kinda ugly looking. So yeah, I love and hate the 5X camera. It does some things really well, can take some amazing photos and videos but also misses the mark just as often as it hits it. AOD, USB-C, excellent speakers, lighter weight, Dynamic Island, action button (I just use it for the camera but I have played with various shortcuts), cellular signal has been much better on this compared to the 13 Pro, super bright screen even in direct sunlight, fantastic battery life. There is a LOT to like about this phone. It's not flashy stuff, it's polish. It's an incredibly polished phone that does everything so well. I'm very happy with it but I'm also aware that the price is getting a bit insane. I could buy an S23 Ultra on sale or a Xiaomi 14 Pro for a lot less but on the flip side, those phones will drop in value extremely quickly whereas the iPhone will only lose about 25% of it's value per year for the 1st two years so I will get a decent chunk of change back when I upgrade again in 2-3 years. I highly recommend it but until Apple does a software update for the 5X camera to improve the photos at higher zoom levels, I will say that it is the one sore spot I have with this phone. Other than that it is fantastic.

With the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max Apple have created some very usbale camera enhancements with the clever 28, 35 as well as 50mm 'crops modes' . These is more to it than the Ricoh GR or Leica Q2 / Q3 sensor based crop as the resulting 24MP (28mm and 35mm) and 12MP (50mm) files are very usable. In addition the PRO RAW provides higher resolution files with a lot of latitude to process in LR or PS editors. Some of the PRO RAW files are in excess of 120MB. The 12MP 5X tele lens on the 15 Pro Max is a nice focal length but the 12MP sensor does lack the detail of the main sensor. If the iPhone 16 adds a higher MP tele lens we might eventually get a mobile phone that can replace a mirrorless cam + kit lens combo for general photography. Almost there Apple ..... almost

A lot to like about the 15 , but imo its still a bit of a hard sell if you are coming from a 14 pro max , I still love my 14 pro max , the camera is still pretty good on the 14 and do like the slider mute switch , and as an old fart in and out of hospitals I use it fairly often , and I use back tap to open up some features, and the as far as opening up the camera at turn on , if lift to wake is on , its only a swipe to left to bring up the camera very quickly , the only real downer I think is you can't activate the camera if you are already operating using that way , but it does also work with back tap wherever you are .
I actually like the chunky design and stainless steel on the 14 series better, the one feature that really is a big plus on the 15 in my eyes is the USB which opens up so much more versatilty , and of course not having to keep a dam lightning cable around :) .
    Good video mate ,

I find the action button extremely useful for resuming my last played podcast in Pocket Casts, through a Siri shortcut, it's great!

man , i don't know. Your video is awesome as always, but I kind of have a hard time to believe that only you seems to not have experienced (or not at same level) all the issues that so many people claims to have experienced. Thank you though , it will help in my dilema of 'what phone to buy' as I need a change after my old (but great) galaxy note 8.

Thank you for a very good summary of this new iPhone. I can endorse your findings. An even bigger thank you for referring to the lenses as "2 times" 5 times" etc, rather than the awful use of "2 ex" "5 ex" etc. instead of "times" when describing the lenses. This seems to be so prevalent among many so-called reviewers, mostly on the other side of the Atlantic. It really makes no sense and demonstrates a lack of understanding of photographic terminology. Rant over...😀

I need to use the flashlight pretty often, so that's what I have the action button activate. It's way better than opening it the old way.

That battery health drop on the 14 pro max is crazy! My iPhone 13 is still at 90% after two years of usage. Great video! I’m thinking of upgrading to this phone and this is super helpful.

I have the Se 3, the 15 lineup doesn't offer enough to make me want to upgrade. My battery easily last the day( health still at 99%), and the old charging port doesn't bother me either. I have the Ipad 9 also, so I like being able to use the same cable to charge bother devices.

Just purchased the 15 pro max coming from being a samsung user for over 10 years, most recently having the samsung galaxy s9+. So far, I love the upgrade but its a bit challenging for me to understand Apple's system since this is my fist ever iphone but I trust that I'll get comfortable in the future. no regrets so far.

I note on the latest iPhone you still have to clear the open applications by moving your fingers up the screen and then flick them up one at the time ,as opposed to android where you can close all open applications by pressing one button. Could never understand that .
