1st, keep the 5th wheel clean and lubricated. 2nd. Back up against the trailer with trailer brake set. 3rd. Make sure the truck has good air pressure over 105 psi, the more, the better. 4th. Drop the airbags for a few seconds but not long enough for the 5th wheel to hang off the kingpin. If all of that doesn't work or help. Get the release system rpaired, replaced or swapped out with the manual release so you don't have to deal with that b.s.

All you need to do is lower the landing gear until you hear the airbag. I'm sure by now you have figured it out :)
