She then gave up trying to communicate with him, and went back to what she was originally doing, which was practicing her swing in slow motion, and videoing it so she could refine it. That is what pro golfers do when they practice, and this arrogant little man was so busy trying to dominate her, he didn't realize what a fool he was making of himself.
Just start a conversation about golf in general first. Whether you are interested in her or truly tried to help her out. 20 years isn’t THAT long for most golfers. It’s a life long pursuit. Some are lucky to find it as kids. A lot of people find it in their 20’s. So when you go to a course or range and see someone 45ish or older, they’ve probably been playing for 20 years too.

I'm in impeccable shape, and old bald men always tell me I should try their yoga routine. I'm an expert in my field who gets flown all over for consulting, and still folks try to teach me the basics without knowing who I am... or that they're actually my employee. These types of interactions used to be handled with a level of maturity without making headlines like, "MAN TELLS WOMAN HIS OPINION!!!?!????!" or whatever nonsense. His advice wasn’t even relevant to what she was doing. The moment she said she was doing a swing change he should have apologized and laughed it off, but he kept doubling down until she humored him. He had no business giving her advice if he couldn’t even tell what was going on or that she was highly competent to begin with.
I think everybody is confusing her with Georgia Hall, who is a world ranking pro golfer. This women is 'just' a certified golf instructer as far as I understand...maybe I am wrong. Still akward that the guy corrected her this way, I would feel uncomfortable too.

Because the last year she got any ranking points was in 2022, minor women's events, finishing 17th to 38th. It's not she has the whole golf thing cracked. I'd back the chap giving her advice to crush her in match-play.
Someone that actually did some research before posting? While she seems like a decent golfer, she would beat me, I am not sure how she is considered a "pro" if she has been on 14 tournaments and hasn't earned any money.
Why was this "controversial"? Woke gone mad!! The man made a complete fool of himself and will probably never live it down. Georgia was wonderfully polite and didn't belittle him, which made it even funnier. It's just funny, so stop making it out to be something darker...

Right or wrong the guy was genuinely trying to help. In todays culture of course let's ridicule him and throw all men under the bus while were at it. Guys don't bother helping woman in any shape or form anymore. Let them do everything themselves unless they're going to pay us for it.

So what's the narrative here that a young pro couldn't possibly learn anything from anyone, least of all a man? If Greg Norman or Tiger Woods was the person off camera offering some tips on her swing, would that still be a problem?
His advice wasn’t even relevant to what she was doing. The moment she said she was doing a swing change he should have apologized and laughed it off, but he kept doubling down until she humored him. He had no business giving her advice if he couldn’t even tell what was going on or that she was highly competent to begin with.

I think everybody is confusing her with Georgia Hall, who is a world ranking pro golfer. This women is 'just' a certified golf instructer as far as I understand...maybe I am wrong. Still akward that the guy corrected her this way, I would feel uncomfortable too.

But it would still be mansplaining then, no? I mean, I have witnessed men explaining things to each other as well as me that they certainly had less or no expertise on. They did not mean harm of course, but I don't think it's a very fruitful habit that I would want to positively reinforce in others. It has a rather obnoxious taste, imho.
It wasn’t really mansplaining. It was more of an older golfer giving unsolicited advice. A lot of older golfers do this and they do it to everyone. It’s quite irritating.

Kind of odd how she is a so called Pro Golfer, yet zero PGA earnings dating back to 2017 and zero PGA tournaments entered is the last 2 years. Pro would mean she gets paid to play golf zero.
Maybe if she listened to advise from terrible men that noticed she was doing something wrong with her swing, she could benefit from it. How dare he be helpful. Geez men are so terrible and should just not help anyone.
Obviously he didn’t know who she is, and was just trying to be helpful. She did the right thing by being gracious. You need to be rude when someone, anyone, offers advice even when it’s a man offering advice to a woman.

It's highly unlikely he would ever do this to another man. It's not the approach, offering advice iis fine. The mansplaining starts the minute someone explains back what they're doing and why and the guy in question proceeds to waffle on as if he 'knows' but still 'knows better'.
