what i love the most about taehyung is the fact that he's never afraid of taking risks because someone with HIS level of popularity would probably go with generic pop and a hardcore choreo but he chose to stay true to his artistic identity and release these jazzy songs. His discography is for music lovers only. A little masterpiece full of Art & Jazz. Sophisticated, honest and humble all at the same time. And his warm, soulful voice feels SO good.

I’ve said it before but I’m really enjoying your reviews. I love BTS & V is my favorite. He is an exceptional man in every way. His talent is so broad & so exceptional . His love of jazz, music from the 40’s on, his beautiful voice which is absolutely the best I have heard in decades (I am 78), his acting ability, his charm, humor, ability to draw anyone in is amazing. He asked his friend Park Hyo Shin, a famous singer for 25 years, to join him in this beautiful song. V has fans from a very young age to those older than me. I really believe this very special young man will continue throughout his life surprising us with his many talents.

Hyo Shin and V sounded extremely similar to each other. I think fans of them would hear the differences much more easily, but some people who are newer might not be able to tell when each is singing as easily. He and V were singing together throughout (as in going back and forth and sometimes singing at the same time). I'd say that V's vocal sounds a bit darker and smokey while Hyo Shin sounded a bit brighter even though their voices sat within a similar pocket.

There’s another video where they’re just sitting at a table sharing a meal and you can see who is singing each part. I think that V’s voice is really distinctive so I can tell it from Hyoshin’s vocals easily as I know them both as artists. You’re not the only one who didn’t realise it was two voices at the beginning. Their voices blend so perfectly.

V and Park Hyo Shin have VERY similar voices! Hyo Shin is an incredible singer, even sang a C#5 live in a musical he was in called “the man who laughs.” But I’m so glad they did this project. He matched V’s voice so well you could hardly tell the difference unless you were really listening for it!
Their voices go AMAZINGLY well together; however, I will disagree about the fact that you can’t distinguish the difference. I guess if you’re a newbie to V, then it may be hard to recognize the voice difference; but if you’ve been listening to V for a while then you can very well distinguish the vocal difference between both artists. I can pinpoint V’s voice out anytime anywhere. There’s actually a very distinctive difference between their voices although they’re both absolutely amazing💜 now mind you, I’m someone who listens to Layover album literally every single day, multiple times throughout the day…so I have his voice memorized by now 🙈😂💜

V the sculptor created an image of himself, V the statue or the sculpture. V sculptor must be projecting his own desires to live be with someone in his V statue. Or he could be a loner, seeking to live/happiness but doesn’t know how. This desire breathed life to his creation. Thus, when the V statue came to life, he also desired to be with someone and created a female statue (and maybe many others) and breathed life to her. The V sculpture lived the life, ie, going around, feeling the wind, being awed by other lives (like the butterfly), dancing, partying, celebrating, loving a girl. But that will end as he faced his creator later and realized he was not real, thus the heartbreaking sadness and acceptance in V’s eyes in the last scene. This is when you see the girl disappearing and even his face in the mirror partly turning into stone. The sculptor V is bloodied. This may represent his own brokenness, or relate to the scene where he was angry and frustrated and took such anger on his scuplture of V thus scraping that part of his face under his eye, and breaking him. It can also be theorized that when sculptor V broke the V statue, this instead gave life to the statue while the sculptor sustained the brokenness or injuries, sort of opposite effect. Or these could all just be a part of the sculptor’s dreams. Teaser 1 represents the darkness in his life. Teaser 2 is his daydream of a happier life, although it will end like any other dream, and he will go back to reality. Also the dark jacket and heavy footsteps may represent the darkness in the sculptor’s life, while the red jacket and whitish colors may symbolize life and lightness. The dark jacket V can also be the repre V sentation of Winter- when it is cold, dark and can bring a heavy feeling. For me there are both biblical and mythological elements in the storyline. And many ways to interpret or solve the puzzle. Sufficing to say, V succeeded in engaging us all to thinking and discoursing about all these. This is what I think at least. Right or wrong, the MV is brilliant. It evokes many thoughts even after watching the MV, and has real depth. V’s acting is so effective. I can still feel sadness for his character seeing his expressions. V’s vocal harmony with PH is also superb and magical! V’s visual is unparalleled throughout the video. This MV and song are masterpieces that not just anyone can put together. Kudos to PH and as for V, he really is Korea’s best talent and treasure!

Yeah I think we saw 3 V’s in this. The one with the loose white shirt was the artist/sculptor living in solitude. The red jacket V was a creation come to life (he touched the X behind his ear at the end) and he danced & had fun with the other creations. The black jacket V had dark blood streaks running down his face at the end as he was already being destroyed by the artist (we saw a flash of a broken sculpture on the floor). The red jacket V understood that they were both creations when he saw the V in black. He had teary ears but smiled as he knew that while it wasn’t real and the girl sculpture was gone, it was paradise while it lasted.

I think you forgot that Park Hyo Shin was on this song with V in the beginning. During the section you thought V's vocals were stacked, it was Park Ho Shin singing duet with V (not to say that V didn't stack his vocals). At the end, Taehyung in the red jacket touches the “X” on his neck, which I assume indicates that he is one of the many sculptures that artist Taehyung created. En el MV el es un artista que vive en soledad y melancolía .Todas las personas de blanco son esculturas creadas por el ,hombres ,mujeres ,abuela ... en su mente todas esas esculturas cobran vida para hacerle compañía .Las esculpe y marca con una X detrás de la oreja .Cuándo se encuentra con su otro YO su mente hace un flash back y al tocarse la parte trasera de la oreja se da cuenta que el también es una creación ,el intentó destruir su otro YO por eso se escuchan sonidos como si algo se rompiera y se ve al V oscuro sangrar de un color no real . Finalmente V descubre que no puede destruir esa parte de el ,su otro YO acepta con resignación pero con tristeza que todo fue su imaginación .

Happy New Year! Always love your reactions to BTS. My take on the video is that "Dark V" is the real person/sculptor and "Red Jacket V" is the creation/the sculpture that came to life. Red Jacket V then sculpts a woman who he fell in love with and she comes to life also. The people at the celebration are all sculptures, however I think their faces become distorted when Dark V enters the scene, he may have smashed or distorted the sculptures. When the two come face to face Red Jacket V comes to the realisation that he too is a sculpture as he feels the carving of the signature "X/V" at the side of his neck.
One of the things I love about being on Twitter when a MV comes out is reading everyone’s interpretations. My fav I read about this is about us always wanting him to survive and he unservived twice in Friends and this MV we realise at the end he was not alive at all. He is the statue that came to life (while when he faced himself there was an X like he gave the sculpture)

The red jacket V only realized this at the end when he felt the X behind his own ear-the same X that he had made on the woman who came to life. Park hyu shin is the other voice with V ... About the mv it's has a lot of theories one of them is that V is a lone man leaves in a huge castle alone .. He wants company love friendship so he start to make the girl's maniquane he made a sckar on her neck .. And one day she comes alife he was happy with her and start thinking to made more people to leave with him and he did it the grannies and all people around him .. But one his birthday party the mankanes starts to broke one by one till he becomes alone again and then the other him shows up and some memories start to come in his mind shows him drawing him self and stuff .. I am not sure if you got to recognize but Park Hyo Shin came in starting the second verse in the beginning itself...they were singing alternate verses and the stacking was both the voices...but it's understandable as their voices are very similar air ballad jazz genre voices...love your reaction though and this is a beautiful song

It's a dream within a dream. V the creator, the storyteller is dreaming of a statue which dreams of being him and sculpting a statue of a girl which comes alive until the storyteller wakes the other V up, and the statue realises he is also V's creation who came alive.😂 That end realisation and acceptance in his eyes is how I interpret the whole video. V learnt saxophone at school, he had told his Dad he wanted to be a singer so Dad told him he should learn an instrument. You call his voice velvet, I always think of it like treacle.

As with good art and songs, it’s often divinely inspired, thus open to individual interpretation. For me, I can’t help hearing the sadness in his voice over the loss of his precious tanni (his dog). After a 2nd unsuccessful heart surgery last year, passed away in the fall. The words he sings of being together the last year are heartbreaking. Winter Bear is another good one he wrote for his grandmother.

what i love the most about taehyung is the fact that he's never afraid of taking risks because someone with HIS level of popularity would probably go with generic pop and a hardcore choreo but he chose to stay true to his artistic identity and release these jazzy songs. I’ve said it before but I’m really enjoying your reviews. I love BTS & V is my favorite. He is an exceptional man in every way. His talent is so broad & so exceptional . His love of jazz, music from the 40’s on, his beautiful voice which is absolutely the best I have heard in decades (I am 78), his acting ability, his charm, humor, ability to draw anyone in is amazing. He asked his friend Park Hyo Shin, a famous singer for 25 years, to join him in this beautiful song. V has fans from a very young age to those older than me. I really believe this very special young man will continue throughout his life surprising us with his many talents.

Hyo Shin and V sounded extremely similar to each other. I think fans of them would hear the differences much more easily, but some people who are newer might not be able to tell when each is singing as easily. He and V were singing together throughout (as in going back and forth and sometimes singing at the same time). I'd say that V's vocal sounds a bit darker and smokey while Hyo Shin sounded a bit brighter even though their voices sat within a similar pocket.

Been waiting for your review. It’s a duet. They share the song all the way through. There’s another video where they’re just sitting at a table sharing a meal and you can see who is singing each part. I think that V’s voice is really distinctive so I can tell it from Hyoshin’s vocals easily as I know them both as artists. You’re not the only one who didn’t realise it was two voices at the beginning. Their voices blend so perfectly.

This MV is so V! He’s so unique and creative. Always keeps us guessing. I Love the contrast between the song and the MV. It adds another layer when listening to it. He is dancing with statues, at the end Mr. Realitycheck reminds him who he is and sculptures lie smashed on the ground, he is out of the mansion-Dreamfactory standing strong on a field. We are welcome to see him however we want but he knows who he is and what he wants. The director didn't say it's about Pygmalion, he said it's about daydreams and nightdreams. You can see the epiloge in the still version MV2 where the music, lyrics, orchestra and two voices is in the center.

V and Park Hyo Shin have VERY similar voices! Hyo Shin is an incredible singer, even sang a C#5 live in a musical he was in called “the man who laughs.” But I’m so glad they did this project. He matched V’s voice so well you could hardly tell the difference unless you were really listening for it!
Their voices go AMAZINGLY well together; however, I will disagree about the fact that you can’t distinguish the difference. I guess if you’re a newbie to V, then it may be hard to recognize the voice difference; but if you’ve been listening to V for a while then you can very well distinguish the vocal difference between both artists. I can pinpoint V’s voice out anytime anywhere. There’s actually a very distinctive difference between their voices although they’re both absolutely amazing💜 now mind you, I’m someone who listens to Layover album literally every single day, multiple times throughout the day…so I have his voice memorized by now 🙈😂💜

V the sculptor created an image of himself, V the statue or the sculpture. V sculptor must be projecting his own desires to live be with someone in his V statue. Or he could be a loner, seeking to live/happiness but doesn’t know how. This desire breathed life to his creation. Thus, when the V statue came to life, he also desired to be with someone and created a female statue (and maybe many others) and breathed life to her. The V sculpture lived the life, ie, going around, feeling the wind, being awed by other lives (like the butterfly), dancing, partying, celebrating, loving a girl. But that will end as he faced his creator later and realized he was not real, thus the heartbreaking sadness and acceptance in V’s eyes in the last scene. This is when you see the girl disappearing and even his face in the mirror partly turning into stone.
The sculptor V is bloodied. This may represent his own brokenness, or relate to the scene where he was angry and frustrated and took such anger on his scuplture of V thus scraping that part of his face under his eye, and breaking him. It can also be theorized that when sculptor V broke the V statue, this instead gave life to the statue while the sculptor sustained the brokenness or injuries, sort of opposite effect.
Or these could all just be a part of the sculptor’s dreams. Teaser 1 represents the darkness in his life. Teaser 2 is his daydream of a happier life, although it will end like any other dream, and he will go back to reality.
Also the dark jacket and heavy footsteps may represent the darkness in the sculptor’s life, while the red jacket and whitish colors may symbolize life and lightness. The dark jacket V can also be the repre V sentation of Winter- when it is cold, dark and can bring a heavy feeling.
For me there are both biblical and mythological elements in the storyline. And many ways to interpret or solve the puzzle. Sufficing to say, V succeeded in engaging us all to thinking and discoursing about all these.
This is what I think at least. Right or wrong, the MV is brilliant. It evokes many thoughts even after watching the MV, and has real depth. V’s acting is so effective. I can still feel sadness for his character seeing his expressions.
V’s vocal harmony with PH is also superb and magical! V’s visual is unparalleled throughout the video. This MV and song are masterpieces that not just anyone can put together. Kudos to PH and as for V, he really is Korea’s best talent and treasure!

the Statue that was "brought to life", the other persona, free, inlove, happy, super social and life is heaven, that sometimes u're just confused that's might be just that (As much as he loves it), it's a job. a character an artist has to play to protect himself, while the real one doesn't always shine happy, and really isn't free..
You are right! Tae is the penultimate winter baby, we've been calling him winter bear for a reason. 😅 And Hyoshin had been alternating verses with Tae, his is the higher thinner vocal while Tae has the lower sultry tones. 😊

The moment he realizes he's only one more creation from real Tae is so bitter-sweet. Tae is an adult artist, who knows who he is and what he wants. Deep inside lives dreamy Tae as a well integrated part of his personality.

Yeah I think we saw 3 V’s in this. The one with the loose white shirt was the artist/sculptor living in solitude. The red jacket V was a creation come to life (he touched the X behind his ear at the end) and he danced & had fun with the other creations. The black jacket V had dark blood streaks running down his face at the end as he was already being destroyed by the artist (we saw a flash of a broken sculpture on the floor). The red jacket V understood that they were both creations when he saw the V in black. He had teary ears but smiled as he knew that while it wasn’t real and the girl sculpture was gone, it was paradise while it lasted.

I think you forgot that Park Hyo Shin was on this song with V in the beginning. During the section you thought V's vocals were stacked, it was Park Ho Shin singing duet with V (not to say that V didn't stack his vocals). Also, when you were commenting about "wind in the vocals", that was Park Hyo Shin. But you got the idea part way through. I love your breakdown's. There is a version that they are both in the video, and you can tell which parts each one sings.

The MV is referencing to Greek mythology Pygmalion about a sculptor and his sculptures come to life. The end scene, the red jacket V realised he’s a sculpture and the black V is his sculptor
At the beginning, we saw that Taehyung adds an “X” to his sculptures as a watermark. At the end, Taehyung in the red jacket touches the “X” on his neck, which I assume indicates that he is one of the many sculptures that artist Taehyung created. So the "dark" Taehung in the end is the real one who puts an end to this, breaking the sculpture of himself (the pieces appear at the end).

V's beloved dog Yeontan passed away, sadly and this collab is in memory of one of his fave idols and his pup. He was approached by the Crosby family who had heard is voice and thought it would be great to do a type of collab/ mix etc..

En el MV el es un artista que vive en soledad y melancolía .Todas las personas de blanco son esculturas creadas por el ,hombres ,mujeres ,abuela ... en su mente todas esas esculturas cobran vida para hacerle compañía .Las esculpe y marca con una X detrás de la oreja .Cuándo se encuentra con su otro YO su mente hace un flash back y al tocarse la parte trasera de la oreja se da cuenta que el también es una creación ,el intentó destruir su otro YO por eso se escuchan sonidos como si algo se rompiera y se ve al V oscuro sangrar de un color no real . Finalmente V descubre que no puede destruir esa parte de el ,su otro YO acepta con resignación pero con tristeza que todo fue su imaginación .

Happy New Year! Always love your reactions to BTS. My take on the video is that "Dark V" is the real person/sculptor and "Red Jacket V" is the creation/the sculpture that came to life. Red Jacket V then sculpts a woman who he fell in love with and she comes to life also. The people at the celebration are all sculptures, however I think their faces become distorted when Dark V enters the scene, he may have smashed or distorted the sculptures. When the two come face to face Red Jacket V comes to the realisation that he too is a sculpture as he feels the carving of the signature "X/V" at the side of his neck.
One of the things I love about being on Twitter when a MV comes out is reading everyone’s interpretations.
My fav I read about this is about us always wanting him to survive and he unservived twice in Friends and this MV we realise at the end he was not alive at all. He is the statue that came to life (while when he faced himself there was an X like he gave the sculpture)

Hi, thanks for the reaction. One popular theory is that the dark V is the original sculpture, and the red jacket V came to life just like the woman. The red jacket V only realized this at the end when he felt the X behind his own ear-the same X that he had made on the woman who came to life. All the white-clothed people are also statues that came to life. 🤷♀️. Good luck in 2025!🎉

Park hyu shin is the other voice with V ... About the mv it's has a lot of theories one of them is that V is a lone man leaves in a huge castle alone .. He wants company love friendship so he start to make the girl's maniquane he made a sckar on her neck .. And one day she comes alife he was happy with her and start thinking to made more people to leave with him and he did it the grannies and all people around him .. But one his birthday party the mankanes starts to broke one by one till he becomes alone again and then the other him shows up and some memories start to come in his mind shows him drawing him self and stuff .. In the end he realized that he is a mankane made by the other V and all of that was just in his imagination .. And the real V was a man who dies alone ..

I am not sure if you got to recognize but Park Hyo Shin came in starting the second verse in the beginning itself...they were singing alternate verses and the stacking was both the voices...but it's understandable as their voices are very similar air ballad jazz genre voices...love your reaction though and this is a beautiful song

It's a dream within a dream. V the creator, the storyteller is dreaming of a statue which dreams of being him and sculpting a statue of a girl which comes alive until the storyteller wakes the other V up, and the statue realises he is also V's creation who came alive.😂 That end realisation and acceptance in his eyes is how I interpret the whole video. But ultimately everyone is free to interpret the MV how they want. 💜💜💜

At first, Taehyung thought that the statue of the girl he made was real (what society wants from him). But in the end, he realizes (according to his own statue) that Taehyung² made him and became real. (What Taehyung really is). (It is believed that all this is according to the legend of Pygmalion and Galatèe)

In Greek mythology there is a sculptor whose sculptures come to life. He sculpted his girlfriend and was amazed that she came to life. Everyone in the ballroom were sculptures that came to life. You can see them in the room where he creates the sculptures. The V that we saw throughout the MV was a sculpture, which is why he rubs his eyes and at the same time the sculpture was sculpting around the eye of the sculpture. When V the sculptor(dark V) saw V the sculpture ( V in the red jacket), the sculpture realizes he is not the original, which is why he cries. V tells a story using no words at all, just body language and expressions. He is a dope artist and great actor, which is why he’s my bias.

As with good art and songs, it’s often divinely inspired, thus open to individual interpretation. For me, I can’t help hearing the sadness in his voice over the loss of his precious tanni (his dog). After a 2nd unsuccessful heart surgery last year, passed away in the fall. The words he sings of being together the last year are heartbreaking.
Winter Bear is another good one he wrote for his grandmother.
